The universe has a strange way of giving life... and taking it away. Most people expect to die of old age. But there are some who die in really early life because of accidents or certain diseases. We don't get to experience the things we want which is the downside of a short life. For me, Olivia Dixon, I had a heart condition. I wasn't allowed to go outside and play with other kids. But there were a few kids my age who had terminal diseases and such whenever I had to stay at the hospital. I had a very loving mom who was single. My dad however died in a car accident when I was only five years old. My other family members helped out my mom whenever she needed it. But I remained in the hospital most of my life which was a bummer.
When it came to earning money, my mom was a graphic designer. It was an easy job for her since she could work at home and take care of me. My relatives would help out when it came to my treatments which she was grateful for. I was still waiting for someone to donate a heart for me, but I was still on a waiting list. However, no one came forward. Not to mention that treatments were getting more and more expensive. So, mom and I decided that treatment will stop. We couldn't let everyone spend any more money on me. Right now...my life was coming to an end.
Beep...beep...beep
I breathed heavily as the heart monitor was beeping. My body was feeling weaker and weaker as my mom and my relatives were in the room with me. Mom was holding my hand as her other hand gently stroke the back of it. She was staring at me with teary eyes with redness in them. I knew that she was feeling really guilty for not getting me a heart in time.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart." Mom apologized.
"It's...okay, mom. I...don't...blame you." I said, weakly.
"I just wish we had more time." Mom wished.
"Me too." I admitted, smiling.
"We're sorry we couldn't do more, kiddo." Uncle Tony said.
"As I...said before I...don't...blame you, Uncle...Tony." I responded.
"You fought the good fight, honey. We're so proud of you." Mom complimented.
"Thank...you, mom." I thanked her.
Mom smiled sadly, "You're welcome, sweetie."
My body soon felt heavier and cold. My eyes could no longer stay open.
"I love you, mom." I whispered.
"I love you too, Olivia sweetie pie." Mom whispered before she kissed my forehead.
Then everything went black and freezing.
The next time, I opened my eyes, I was in a white room, and it was warm. I was confused and curious.
"Am I...in heaven?" I asked.
"Not quite." A male voice replied.
I turned to the voice and saw a man standing in the middle of the white room. He looked familiar to me. Like I've seen him before. So I walked over to him and stood in front of him. After looking at him for a moment, I realized who he was.
"Hello Olivia." The man greeted.
"...Dad?" I stuttered with wide eyes.
Dad nodded and I leaped into his arms and hugged him.
"I've missed you so much, dad." I whispered.
"I've missed you too, sweetie." Dad smiled softly.
I slightly pulled away, "Why are you here, dad?"
"I'm here to guide you." Dad said, pulling away and held my hands.
"Guide me?" I asked, confused.
"To a new world." Dad replied.
"A new world?" I questioned.
"Where you'll be reborn." Dad answered.
"Where is it?"
"In the Miraculous universe."
"Isn't that the TV show I used to watch a lot?"
"Indeed. I believe that you should be reborn there as Lila Rossi." Dad said.
"What? Are you sure that's a good idea?" I questioned.
"You know how much damage that Lila does to that universe. Not to mention that Marinette character. She really is a stalker who's able to get the golden boy. That doesn't make much sense." Dad explained.
"Good point. But how did you know I watched it a lot?" I asked.
"Well, I've watched over you and your mom since my passing. So I know a lot of stuff, Olivia." Dad smiled.
I blushed yet smiled at the thought that my dad had been watching over her and her mom. It was true that I watched Miraculous a lot of times. But I kept wishing that they would make better improvements as the new seasons came out. But to my point of view, Marinette is a stalker and somewhat a weirdo and a people pleaser. It almost hard to believe that her classmates encouraged her behavior towards Adrien. On the other hand, Adrien is a kind and gentle soul with a good heart. Chloe was at first seen as a bad person, but she does have a small redemption. I believed that she would become a good person. It was a shame that Adrien's father is Hawkmoth. I have to admit that he did the wrong thing for the right reason and in the end, he sacrificed himself so that Natalie would live and he would be reunited with his wife. Maybe it would be cool if I was reborn in the Miraculous universe.
"So, do you want to go?" Dad asked.
"Yeah. I want to." I replied.
"Good choice," Dad said, "Remember, live the way you want to, Olivia."
"Really? What if I mess up the plot too much?" I questioned.
"I'm pretty sure you'll be able to handle it. I know you can." Dad stated, proudly.
I smiled softly at him, "Thank you, dad."
He smiled back and hugged me tightly. I held onto him, knowing it would probably be the last. After a moment, my dad and I let go of each other. We smiled sadly as the room became brighter and brighter.
"Goodbye, dad." I said.
"Goodbye, Olivia." Dad said.
The whole room went fully white which my dad starts to fade.
'I'll miss you, dad. I promise that I'll live well.' I thought before everything went blank.
