Taking in a humongous gulp of air, I discharge it slowly in hopes to ease the dull ache that somehow has embedded itself on my chest.

Beads of sweat leaked through my paws drenching my shirt with endless sweat. I inhale and exhale.

I can do this!

I encouraged myself. Ignoring the ache underneath the surface of my feet and furiously throbbing heart . I can't give up now, I simple cannot. Not when I've made a promise to myself and Azola. 

Adrenaline soar through my veins at the thought of Azola. God I miss him even though we talk regularly on the phone and whisper sweet everlasting love to each other. A telepathic between two loving hearts that found each other during a bad circumstances. 

And for some fucked up reason I feel like we understand each other better when we become physical with one another. A physical bond mitigates any mishaps and mix-ups with just a stroke of a petal on a flesh.

I will myself in a pen position. Through my exhausted eyelashes and heavy breathing I can see my destination. My home. Just a few blocks away from where I'm standing. 

My phone beeps from within my bra an indication that the time I set for myself is limited. There's sixty seconds left. Sixty seconds left that will prove whether my hard work paid off or not.

I'm exhausted, drained; aching and my legs are wobbly. Taking the edge of my t-shirt I drew it over my forehead and descended towards my slippery neck scooping the over weighing sweat that now roles down between the crease of my breasts.

My grip tightens around my now empty bottle of water and my steps falters as a familiar face walks out of my neighbours house. 

Everything halt as my gaze land themselves at the two intimate look people.

What is he doing there?

Shaking the web of suspicion and accusation that was about to cloud my mind off. I went on my knees slowly bringing my breathing rhythm at bay and began to fasten up my shoes. 

I try really hard to ignore the nagging feeling that blossomed the second I saw him laced around Mbali. 

I dared another glance over my shoulder and inhale sharply when I see them in the exact same position. With his uneven pearly white teeth fleshed at whatever lie she was feeding him, his arm that lingered over her arm and the narrowed distance between them. 

Red hue clouds my vision. I'm tempted into going there and put that bitch in line. A foreign feeling falls at the pit of my belly.

He is touching her!

My eyes pickles with tears and I instantaneously avert my gaze from them.

My, Azola.

My phone beeps startling me. I look down through my blurry eyes and switch my mobile phone off.

Don't you dare cry Anelisa. 

Running the back of my hand over my watery eyes I blow out a shaky breath to ease my raging nerves.

"Are you okay?" I don't flinch or back away as a warm sweaty hand graze mine. Letting out a breath once again the intruders hand squeezed mine ever so slightly, clearly seeking for my attention. But I can't bring myself to look up. I know if I do I'll see something I don't want to see and that will lead to me breaking down.

"Hey!" Finally daring a glance up, I froze. My lips part the second my brown eyes bump into big brown eyes with a spec of yellow. My heart stutters.

"I asked you a question but now I see you're not. I guess this is why my friends call me numbskull sometimes. A person would think they have a personal agenda against me" the stranger chortles revealing white impeccably lined teeth. 

My eyes held the strangers eyes and something glimmer in his eyes forking my curious department. I blink and instantaneously regret ever doing so because now his eyes are void of any reactions. Like what I saw earlier never occurred. The emotion I saw behind his eyelashes vanished like a blow of wind through thin air. 

I shake my head slowly in an attempt to eradicate the illusion. Of course why would he? Why would be feel that way about me? He doesn't know me but then again a small part of me wish he did. 

I feel the strangers hands on my lower back. Looking up I saw him flashing me a heartwarming smile that results my heart to impediment. 

"I think you have your fair share on the pavement long enough now don't you think? Allow me to let you in a secret. There's nothing more attractive than seeing a woman on her knees and panting" my brows crease in confusion. I'm lost amidst the strangers intense gaze. His touch on my lower back does no justice in bidding me enough time to clutch on my remaining piece of consciousness.

"Like what you see?" I stood there in utter pellucid. But the only thing that somehow managed to have my eyes grounded are those chocolate brown eyes. I have a feeling that the state of me being intensilent is derived from the lack of distance between the stranger and myself.

"Excuse me?" I managed to say. My eyes trail behind his fingertips as he strategically draws invincible lines over his protruding torso. I feel myself licking my lips as his hand ascends towards his lips. When our eyes collide I cringe as realisation hits me face first. My shoulders sages inward and my eyes cast themselves to the paved road, embarrassed for being caught ogling. 

This is so unlike me. I'm known to be someone who has a loose tongue but the way I'm performing now is like an insult to my personality and I need to get ahead of my game or else I'll embarrass myself even more.

Clearing my throat I gathered enough courage and looked up and internally cursed myself as I find the strangers gaze on me. 

The strangers eyes rake over my body slowly in a calm and not hasted pace; and land on my left leg for quite some time. Shifting uncomfortably I tucked my phone in my sports bra and fixed my t-shirt enough to cover up my assets and at the same time tugged my left leg behind my right leg. 

"Aphelele" he says after a beat of intense silence. I looked down at his outstretched hand. I don't know why but I somehow can't bring myself to take his palms in mine. I did the only thing familiar to human kind I stood there and regarded his outstretched arm.

"Okay. I saw you steal a glance towards them. I must say you weren't subtle yourself. Wouldn't be surprised if they caught you starring" The urge to disappear amplifies. I think this is that moment when the ground should open up and swallow me.

"I need to go"

"Hey! Did I say something wrong?" Ignoring the stranger I bend down to pick my bottle up from the road. I can feel my eyes burn from tears that lingers at the brink of my eyes. 

I was about wipe my eye with the back of my hand when a hand rings itself over my wrist forcing me to turn around. 

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay. At least there's still someone out there with enough balls to call me out on my stalking tendencies" I mutter, shaking my head.

"I insist and I must say I envy a woman who knows how to handle her sweat and is interested in a threesome" Aphelele says as he graze his hand over my chin, and slowly brings it up to face him. 

"Excuse me?" I manage to say through the lump in my throat. I don't know what is wrong with me. I don't know whether my sudden weakening of my legs is derived from the work out, the heat of the sun or Aphelele's intense scrutiny. I need to do something anything or else I'll embarrass myself in front of this stranger and I don't want him to remember me by that.

What the fuck am I thinking?

"You don't see a lot of woman who dares to wake up every day just to take a hike down the mountains" folding his arms over his brought chest. Aphelele averts his gaze up over my shoulder and towards the couple he caught me gawking at not so long ago. An uneasy feeling settles down within me and I suddenly find my shoes rather interesting. 

"what a view" Clearing his throat he continued "I think I've wasted enough of your time now already. It was nice meeting you" turning, Aphelele jogged away, his white shirt draping over his accentuated right shoulder and his back muscles flexes as he jogs away. I stood there astound at what just happened. I Watch as, Aphelele, disappear through the rays of sunshine and myriad of people who were rushing to get to the train station. And for some reason I found myself wishing I could have done something to prolong my time with him.

What the fuck is wrong with me?
