He flips his plate up, I push my chair back feeling unsettled.

I hastily rise to my feet and grab his plate, his eyes never leave me, he grabs the plate from me making me jump, I flinch when he throws it down on the floor.

I try to rush away but he grabs me and pulls me back and pushes me against the wall.

He walks to me and grabs the pizza from me then drops it on the floor, I look down then up to him and he walks out, I lean my head back. I clean up and start to get ready for bed...As I climb into bed a small smile comes to my lips, I nestle into the pillow and stretch out, my eyes close, I hear the door creak open.

I don’t move, my heart starts racing as I feel him come closer, he crawls on the bed.

I stare at Jason sleeping, I look over his features, his lips slightly chapped, his age is showing, he has small fine lines by the corner of his eyes, his harsh features now soft, he looks so peaceful but it won’t last, it never does, I wedge myself out of his arms carefully. I get free of his grip. I back away on my tiptoes feeling the coolness of the wooden floor. I spin and sneak out of the room.
I take a shaky breath and do a little run down the stairs, I get to the bottom and stump my toe. I bite my lip and look back, I don’t know why I’m so nervous about walking around the house by myself. I feel like a child who is up past their bedtime trying to hide from their parents so they don’t get told off. There is no warmth in this house, very few pictures are up, the walls are plain white and plain, there is nothing warm are cozy about this house but I’m forbidden to change anything since it’s up to Jason.
I unlock the back door and step out, a small smile comes to my lips, I step into the grass, it’s damp, there’s a slight chill in the air which wraps around my body, I bite my lip looking down watching my steps on the grass, feeling it between my toes, I sit up on the swing and swing myself, a small laugh leaves my lips.

I lean my head back closing my eyes feeling the breeze through my hair, I swing higher feeling free, I open my eyes smiling which slowly fades as I see a figure by the window upstairs staring. I stop myself abruptly feeling the air leave my lungs, I look up and he’s gone. I stand up feeling my heart race, butterflies race around in my stomach. I rush to the door, I get inside, lock the door spin. Jason is stood there, it’s pitch black but I can see his figure, the way he is standing, the fact his fists are formed.
No words are said, the air grows thick, he slowly steps closer, I back against the door but it’s impossible to back away anymore. I slowly slide down the door curling up.
“I’m sorry” I struggle to find my voice.
But he does not speak and he grabs my hair and throws me lower to the floor. My cries are quiet but his fists beat drums through my ears. I try to push him back with my feet but it’s no use. I roll onto my front trying to crawl away, tears stream down my cheeks, he pulls me back with my nails dragging across the wooden floor. He hits my back, the blow knocks me flat onto my front.
