A-tech boarding college scholarship. Register now.
hmm one way ticket out.
Lexis watched the black and white notice on the board. A-tech boarding college was for the best. It's said that even if you qualify for the scholarship the heads of the school still decide whether or not they want you at the school. After applying she'd have to score near perfect on the entrance exam to be considered. Aw screw it I'm sure I'll get through. If not there's always the bus stop. Either way I'm getting out of this screwed place.
"What can I do for you?" the woman at the office said looking away from her computer screen and up at Lexis. When she realized who it was her face changed to disgust. Lexis just looked the woman in the eyes. "Well?" the woman urged on impatiently.
"Forms." She said as blandly as she could manage, while holding up the scholarship notice.
"Over there on the table." The woman said, pointing to a desk jammed against the wall beneath a window.
Lexis grabbed the forms she needed and headed for the door.
"No thank you in that mouth of yours?" the woman called as she reached for the door.
"Frack off." Lexis said as she walked out.
Lexis walked into the hallway only to be confronted by three girls standing a little taller than her.
"Well look who we had to run into." The girl on the right said as they stopped.
"So Lexis are you coming to ball?" Katie the girl standing in the middle, asked planting her feet and putting her hands on her hips. The two girls at her sides laughed like drugged hyennas.
"No way Katie, if she does they'll cancel the ball. And I for one will not have my last great moment in high school ruined by her." The girl on the left said folding her arms.
"OH! you're absolutely right." the Katie stated looking completely flabbergasted. "Besides I'm sure you haven't even got a dress for ball, right?"
"Who me?" lexis asked enthusiastically. "Of course I'm coming, and of course I have dress."
The three girls laughed hard bending to their knees.
"Really?" Katie asked amused.
"Yeah! It's this beautiful fitted, full length dark purple cutie. It changes in the lighting and it has sequins on it. It doesn't have a sash or straps but it does have a wrap the same color."
The girls had stopped laughing and looked at each other confused. The other girls were looking at Katie with worried expressions on their faces.
"Really, you actually got a dress." The look on Katie's face was serious.
"Yeah for real...oh what I really like is that it has 'SCREW YOU' written all over it in bold white." Lexis said sticking her middle fingers in the air for emphasis.
She turned and headed down the hall.
"Are you applying for the A-Tech scholarship?"
"And?"
"You might as well give up. Daddy got me a spot in the school already and Stanton's gonna be the one to get the scholarship. We're gonna be together even through college."
Lexis chuckled.
"Stanton. You mean the Stanton that bangs Rose and Maria behind your back, Stanton. Or the Stanton that slept with the coach to allow him on the team, Stanton."
Katie's face turned red and she flashed her cronies angry looks.
"You've been with my boyfriend?!" she screamed at them.
"Of course not Katie, we'd never do that to you." Maria answered as quickly as possible.
Lexis grinned and laughed as loud as she could manage.
"Says the same Maria who was doing him pretty good two weeks ago before I got suspended."
Lexis laughed.
"How was it?" she asked putting a finger to her chin.
Lexis hugged her shoulders and started swinging left to right bobbing her head each time she shifted.
"uh..oh...uh...uh...ooooohh...Sta..Sta..Stanton!"
She leaned back and folded her arms.
"Was that it or was there more 'oh's' ?" Lexis said looking questioningly at Maria.
Katie glared at Maria and made the girl step back.
"Katie I swear I didn't. Why are you listening to her, she's lying?" Maria said backing up even more.
"Rumors rumors rumors. Dangerous little things they are. She's not listening to me, it's just that there are a few rumors going around especially about you Maria. Seems Stanton couldn't really keep his mouth shut."
Katie then flashed Lexis a harsher glare than she had at Maria.
"I'm out of your fracking business if you stay out of mine." Lexis said putting hands up defensively.

The ruckus outside the principal's office got Lexis another meeting with the principal.
"You just got back to school and already you're causing trouble with your peers." Principal Scatim said. He was standing in front the window with a cup of coffee in his hands.
"You mean your daughter and her cronies?"
He glanced at her.
"I'm letting this slide as I don't have time to deal with you right now. Behave yourself for once, think of your aunt."
"You done?"
The mention of Jodi left Lexis with a sour taste in her mouth and a sick feeling in her stomach. Everyone sympathized with Jodi on having to raise her, especially since her mother died twelve years ago. Jodi was happy to play the part of the suffering aunt because of the attention, but she didn't care about Lexis.
"Yes." Mr. Scatim said without looking at her.
Lexis got up and left the principal's office. On her way out she ran into the Malienis. Mrs. Malieni flashed her a smile and tilted her head.
"We seem to run into you here quite often."
"Yeah, well shit happens here a lot." Lexis said as she brushed past them.
"Young lady!" The secretary chastised.
"It's alright." Mrs. Malieni assured her. "She must be having a rough day."76Please respect copyright.PENANAvjWjrpCNPT
