Everyone is familiar with The Great War (World War One) and the terrible cost all the nations involved suffered. The horrific images of trenches, the poems describing human suffering, and the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month that ended it come first to mind. Now it is time to put yourself in the shoes of someone who lived through the The Great War based off of this photo (it's the third photo on the page or refer to the cover photo).

Are you a soldier in the trenches? Are you a nurse or a doctor that must treat the wounded or are you a civilian seeing images like the one above in the newspapers? It is totally up to you. Take inspiration from the photo.

The word limit is about 4,000 words and I will allow two entries per person.
