Hey everyone, it's been a while!
So, I successfully raised my grades until they were all passing, which is such a relief for me. Have you ever felt that? A task that you thought, at first, would be hard and maybe even a bit impossible to do? How did you overcome that?179Please respect copyright.PENANADzY1Zi78tn
I'm sure a handful of people would say, "I didn't." It would probably be me on certain occasions so I deeply understand that. 179Please respect copyright.PENANA2YIFQsKIkL
I'm not about to give some sort of speech to tell you to just "do it and you'll feel better" because I know it's not that simple all the time. As a master procrastinator, I'm here to say: Same.
So I'll just tell you about what I did.
At first, the task of raising my grades felt daunting, like I was never going to complete it cause math isn't one of my strengths. So to me, it was like a lose-lose situation: even if I do it, I'll fail anyways.
Until I weighed my options and asked myself certain questions.
Why should I do it? Because I'll be thankful for it in the future when I won't have to take remedial classes.179Please respect copyright.PENANAlXCb2EQSG0

Am I doing it for them, or for me? (To me, this question really sparks something in my heart.) I've been raised in a household that didn't value my opinions or way of doing things so more often than not I find myself doing a task because they told me to do it. So I always thought, "It's always for them." Because of that, I find simple tasks to be hard because I feel oppressed. That I'm not doing it out of my free will. But yes, I try and remind myself that it is for me. It usually helps alleviate those feelings. I'm doing this task for myself. I have feelings. They are valid.179Please respect copyright.PENANA0EDz8oP271
How will this benefit me? Thinking about the positive outcome really helps to motivate me into doing something. When I find that completing something may result in more free time, less stress, and a sense of completion and pride, it's not that hard to get up off my feet and at least give it a try.179Please respect copyright.PENANAOO5mLI1WJh
And thanks to the hard work I put in, I had a lot of time to continue working on my novel! Isn't that great? Here is a sneak peek at a character reference I made on artbreeder.com:
I've made various other characters and I try to make them diverse. I'm so excited to finish it. In truth, I've also got some other side projects I've been meaning to finish. The good thing about that is I won't get overwhelmed or bored working on the same thing for very long. 179Please respect copyright.PENANAvcxiOscjVj
I always try to make my writings have some sort of meaning to them other than just what's presented. I hope I can communicate those messages when I finally release my books. 179Please respect copyright.PENANAL3n0eKcWoD
