Georgia, Nikkita, and Bella were all sitting outside in Georgia’s small but open backyard.
They each sat in different colored lawn chairs. Georgia sat in a dark green chair, Nikkita sat in a yellow one, and Bella sat in a red one.
“How have you been?” Nikkita asked.
“I am okay now…just…a lot of thinking.” Georgia replied, sounding tired as she rubbed her eyes rather harshly.
Bella and Nikkita looked at each other curiously and concerned.
“You can tell us anything. We’re your best friends.” Bella said as she leaned forward, putting her hand on Georgia’s knee.
“Well…I don’t know. People are supposed to have secrets you know?” Georgia replied in a soft tone, curling up more into a ball to stay closed off.
Nikkita sighed and picked her chair up to move closer to Georgia.
“I don’t got any secrets from you two. Sure I hide stuff from my parents or other kids at school, but not you two.” Bella said as Nikkita smiled at Georgia.
“You both know I skipped class that one day to hook up with a boy whose name I don’t even remember.” Nikkita joked.
They both laughed as Georgia looked at them, cracking a smile.
“Or when I snuck into the library and was able to knock out the wifi with a harmless virus that let us out of school for almost a month.” Bella replied.
Georgia laughed a bit harder as her arms and legs slowly came away from her torso, opening her body more.
“Or what about when we that time we went to that underground rock show and got super fucked up.” Georgia said.
Nikkita and Bella both looked at Georgia confused, making Georgia’s face lower into a sad frown.
That was until they all suddenly burst into laughter.
“Oh yeah I remember that…well not really but that’s the point.” Nikkita said as she kept laughing.
They all laughed and Bella nearly fell out of her chair, catching herself and making them all laugh harder.
“I’ve really needed this. I miss you two.” Georgia said as she wiped her eyes.
They all stood up and hugged tightly inside the shape of chairs, Georgia burying her face into the shoulders of both Bella and Nikkita.
“So, what should we do for dinner?” Bella asked.
“What do you mean?” Georgia confusedly asked.
“Well you’re having a rough patch in life. And since we’re your friends, we ain’t gonna let you do that alone. So we’re spending the night with you and getting food delivered.” Nikkita replied quickly, making Georgia softly chuckle.
“I…but…what about…” Georgia started, but then she stopped herself.
She stared back at the house, looking through the window at the empty and clean living room that sat alone.
There was nobody in that house.
They were all outside, and that was it.
Georgia swallowed hard, rubbing hair out of her face as she thought.
“I um…I might have…some money hidden somewhere. We might be able…to get a lot of food.” Georgia cracked a very small smile as she looked at her friends, both of whom lit up excitedly.
“Well go get it then!” Nikkita laughed and said loudly.
Georgia smiled and quickly went inside while Nikkita and Bella waited for her outside.
Georgia shut the back door, then stopped.
She stared through the kitchen.28Please respect copyright.PENANAa0FqKZHsfy
She stared into the living room.
The home was completely silent as she took a painfully large breath, smelling the clean and quiet air.
The smell of alcohol and smoke was gone.
Everything felt clean.
It felt safe.
Georgia could feel the tears run down her face regardless as she walked, turning and going up the stairs. She didn’t hear anything but herself.
It was both comforting and scary.
She turned to look at the door of her Father’s bedroom.
She swallowed hard and completely froze in place.
She just stared at the dirty door covered in scratches and chips.
The doorknob was barely hanging on and the hinges were creating visible holes and tears in the frame.
It had been slammed so many times the door frame was nearly falling apart.
Georgia could feel her entire body tensing to the point of severe pain, her body so tight and stiff her lungs were being prevented from expanding.
“D…D…D…Dad?” She softly asked, the air being forcefully pushed out of her barely open mouth that barely moved.
Her legs finally began to move under her, each step like she was dragging the world behind her.
She continued to step slow and hard towards the door, trying her best to figure out what she was supposed to do.
This isn’t normal for her.
She has never so much as touched her Father’s door.
“May I…come in?” She asked softly, as if he was still there.
Georgia was watching as her hand slowly extended out, every inch it drew closer causing it to shake and shiver more and more.
Her fingertips were inching closer and closer.
But then she stopped.
She quickly pulled her hand back, holding it to her chest as she broke into tears.
“I can’t…he told me…never to…no but…he’s not…I can’t do this…” Georgia very quickly mumbled to herself, speaking so quickly her lips struggled to move fast enough to match her brain.
Her entire body was shaking as she forcefully pushed her hand into her face, rubbing down hard enough to turn her skin red.
“Alright…I’ll just…”28Please respect copyright.PENANAHFohZrjGhX
Georgia moved her other hand down to her pants, feeling the golden amulet bulging through the fabric.
She stopped and looked down at it, then quickly reached inside to pull it out.
“Abaraxx…” She said to herself again.
She looked around, as if making sure nobody was around to see her.
She quickly rubbed the amulet, Abaraxx appearing in the cloud of green smoke as always.28Please respect copyright.PENANA5X5kr1Ow0M
“Master Georgia, how may I help you today?” He asked in his loud and thunderous voice.
“I um…I need money…and I think…there’s some in that room.”28Please respect copyright.PENANAlTyvpDnvlk
Georgia pointed to her Father’s door, her arm shaking wildly while the rest of her body was forcibly stoic and still as a statue.
“I see, but why do you wish for me to do it? Is there something wrong with the door?” Abaraxx asked as he turned to look at it.
“No…I mean…well…I just can’t do it. I need you to do it for me.” Georgia replied.
“As you wish Master Georgia.”28Please respect copyright.PENANAALd82ONqfo
Abaraxx floated towards the door, disappearing through it as he floated inside the room.
Georgia took a deep breath, doing her best to keep her emotions under control when Abaraxx rather quickly emerged, dropping a massive pile of loose dollar bills onto the floor in front of her.
Georgia looked down at it with wide eyes.
“Is this a suitable amount for you Master Georgia?” Abaraxx asked.
Georgia looked up at Abaraxx with wide, shocked eyes.
“Is…is…there more?” She asked.28Please respect copyright.PENANAcbs02HuoPj
Abaraxx didn’t speak. He only turned and floated through the doorway once again, emerging shortly after with another pile of loose dollar bills that fell to the ground.
Georgia stared at the massive pile, but Abaraxx quickly went back, grabbing a third pile of equal size and dropping it with the rest.
Georgia dropped to her knees, staring at the expansive ocean of green in front of her.
Abaraxx continued to float, looking down at her as she just stared.
“Is everything okay Master Georgia?” Abaraxx asked.
Georgia didn’t respond.
She just stared at the money.
The money she had never seen.
Money she never knew about.
“He…he’s…had this…” Georgia softly muttered, but then lifted her head up.
She looked towards the stairs as she heard the backdoor shut.
“Georgia? You doing alright?” Nikkita asked.
“Yeah…I have good news.” Georgia said loudly.
Nikkita and Bella both made their way to the living room, looking up at the wooden railing where they saw Georgia sitting.
Georgia grabbed as much money as her arms could, standing up then throwing it over the railing.
Everyone cheered and laughed as the money floated down, Georgia quickly grabbing arm full after arm full and throwing it over.
“We are going to party tonight!” Georgia shouted as her friends cheered loudly.
