I was walking off my flight and down the airport when I heard my name. "Rebecca?" i looked up and saw a guy standing there with a smile on his face. He had my silver blue eyes and my curly strawberry blonde hair. He had tan skin while I was pale. I had my curly hair in a high pony tail, my hair went to my waist. I was in jean shorts, original colored converse high tops, and a blue t-shirt. I had my tan army backpack on, that belonged to my grandfather prior, and I had my big purple duffel bag in my hand that held all my clothes and items. The only thing this bag didn't have that my house still had was my cat. I had a cat she was gorgeous, but my mom got her still. I guess only one can escape at a time.
I walked over to the man who i assumed to be my father. He was in a blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled and blue jeans and dusty brown cowboy boots. He had a dusty brown cowboy hat on and a badge. Great not only am I the freaky new girl, but I'm the freaky sheriff daughter. God could this get any worst. I sighed and walked over.
"Hey Beccy. It's been awhile." I nod and he grabbed my duffle. "I'll carry this for you." I nod and we walked out. "So... your 15 now right?" I sighed.
"17." He frown.
"Oh right sorry." I just kept my head down with my sunglasses on. My silver blue eyes had turned a silvery purple, that's when you know ghost and other spiritual things are around. "So... um... your aunt Rosie made up your room. She heard you like purple and black so she made all nice for you." He said in a southern drawl. "I hope you like it." He held open the truck door for me and I jumped into the Black Chevy truck.
"Sure." I said and rested my head on the windshield as he got in.
"Look I know this isn't Vermont, but you'll like it here. I promise." I only nod still staring outside. Maybe I would like it here, but there was so many ghosts around I thought I would never be able to sleep tonight.
This town had small shops and an even smaller airport with only 7 planes. The sheriff office was in the middle of town too. All the house though are far off. So we drove at least half an hour before I got to the house. The house was a big old plantation and was gorgeous, but highly haunted. It wasn't the ghost that scared me though. It was the demons and what not.
I walked up into my room and it was black with purple glow in the dark paint swirls. The bedding had the same design. Then the furniture was a dark wood. The closet was big and I had a dark wood window seat. This place reminded me of where queens or princesses would sleep. The bed had thick velvet purple curtains on the posts. It was amazing.
"So?" My father asked as he let my bag drop on the bed. I smiled.
"It's cool." I said and grabbed my bag and headed for my closet.
"Okay. Well I'm going to go downstairs and talk with your aunt okay. Your aunt is my sister and she is staying in the room down the hall from you if you need anything." I nod and started unpacking. He walked out and I stopped and sat down. I waited until he was truly gone until i spoke.
"I know your here. Let me help you, but one at a time. So line up and I'll hear your stories and help you move on." Next thing you know I have a line of 20 ghosts in front of me. "Name and how you died please."
"My name is Lucy Harp. I died in a fire. I never got to say goodbye to my daughter and husband." I nod and took my notebook out.
"Don't worry I'll send them a letter. What's the address?"
"123 Carper Street." I nod and wrote it down.
"Relax now. Think of your mother and father and look forward and try to find them." She nod and then smiled.
"Mom. Dad."
"That's right now go to them Lucy. Go to your parents and you'll move on." She nod. Her burnt skin turned to a nice regular glow. She looked like someone who was just alive. The thing with ghosts is when you can see them they look like you and I except for when they are haunted by their death, then they look like how they died.
After she left I worked with the rest. 2 hours later I finished with them and finished unpacking and started the letters of goodbyes.
Dear, Mr. Harp
I'm writing this to in form you that I have spoken with your wife's ghost. Believe me or not she says her goodbyes. She says that she loves both you and Johnny and how she will be waiting for you to join her. She thought you may not believe this letter so she said one simple word. Trees. She said how you two met when she fell out of her tree house and you caught her. No one knew she was there or even where she was. When you caught her your eyes met hers and you fell in love instantly. She says how Johnny has your amazing green eyes and her smile and hair. Most of all she misses you both terribly, but knows that she must move on. She wishes you the best of luck and hopes you'll be alright without her. Don't give up hope.
from, the Ghost seer.
I wrote similar letters to the other ghosts relatives and then fell back on my bed. "Now I got to mail these and relax. Tomorrow is school and on my way I'll drop these off." I stuck them in my backpack and headed downstairs.
"Look Rik she's 17. She hasn't seen you since she was 5 it'll take her some time to open up. So relax she will. She just got out of that house with her mother. It'll be some time before she heals."
"I know Rose, but I'm just worried how she's doing. She won't tell me."
"Give her time Rik."
"Or you could ask. Asking helps." I said as I walked into the kitchen. They stopped mid sentence and looked up to find me walking in. "I don't like when people talk behind my back so if you have something to say then say it. I'm fine. So don't worry. If I'm not I'll tell you." I said and walked the rest of the way in. "I was just wondering if I could have an apple by the way." Rose snapped out of her shocked of me hearing that and turned.
"Of course." She went to the fridge then washed my apple off handing it to me. "I'm your aunt Rose by the way. You can call me Rosie or-
"Um... can I just call you Rose?" She nod.
"That works." i nod and walked out. "Super will be in an hour." I nod and ate my apple in my room. Tomorrow will be along night.
