“And no other place can fully allow you to feel the true power of Glorious Atormis! Only then can one feel as well, the true meaning of life’s puny existence. Nothing will ever stop an adventurer from venturing epic journeys…unless the world kills them.” Pen reads from the book of Yungahbva—published records of how the once great adventurer—whose name cannot even be remembered, conquered and felt Glorious Atormis. They cannot be remembered, because no matter what page Pen turns to, or ask his parents, teachers and classmates, or even the elderly in the neighborhood, it became a tale that the reason why the great adventurer lost their name is because of the countless journeys they had embarked on. They were not just a normal hemrean, but a magister, a king, an undead raiser, a lumberjack, a father, a nationality recognized by every kinigdom, and many more. Their many roles caused them immense suffering, and procured the existence of favors from the Gods. That is, Pen’s grandfather says, “To help them focus on their one pure goal. To find Core Point and be nameless as their voice echo ‘Glorious Atormis’ and everyone in the world heard them.”
“Woah! So Grandpa, the great adventurer is really great isn’t he?”
“Yes, and some say they are long gone. As the Core Point also mean the succession of a being to sit on Heaven’s throne and become a God.”
“And…the great adventurer is the God of adventures?”
“We do not know…for now, I think it is best for you to not know” Grandfather smilingly pats a palmful of Pen’s head, warmly tending to his grandchild as he reads him more of the great tales of this nameless adventurer. That until his mother barged in and ask where Pen is. “Calm down Iva, you don’t have to break down the door everytime you come in.”
“That is because you always take him Father, and you always indulge him in this fiction.” Iva forcefully grabs Pen’s wrists and yelled him to start walking home. “You know that this child will become the next royal adviser, and so I advise you to never kidnap him again. You don’t even have the papers to show your credibility…I said walk already you dumb child!”
In truth, the boy came to his grandfather’s house all by himself. In the middle of the day where classes are supposed to be ongoing. He came voluntarily, told his grandfather that he knows what will happen because of his actions and he asks for grandfather not to be responsible for him—for getting slapped, kicked, and spat down by mother.
“You stupid child, let’s go already!”
“Iva, where’s Igor?”
“Why do you care?”
“…He’s my son in law, of course I should care what happens to my family…”
“You don’t even have a family anymore father. They’re all dead so stop trying to get in everyone’s business!” Iva slams the door shut failing the knob to the floor. Her daughter has always thrown a fit at him ever since he came back from ‘the dead’. That’s what they all thought, and she kept blaming him for how much money she lost for his funeral. When in fact, she was the one who started scheming and scamming, making full use of his---enough thinking of this. The old man takes the knob and places it on the table. Starts twinkle at the night sky, watching them from the kitchen window. He wishes for one of them, to pray for Pen tonight, for whatever the son will face.

“I heard from your teachers!” Slapping her child and spitting more than she can even spit out. “Why are you dropped out? Why does this say dropped out!?” She throws the paper on the floor, slamming it down with her feet causing the boy to flinch. But still, he remains silent and it only causes the mother to break their own dining chair. “HOW MUCH MONEY DO I HAVE TO SPEND FOR YOU!? HOW MUCH!? I’M PAYING FOR YOUR GROWTH AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME!?”
…It is true. Mother has paying for his school but all he does is read books about the great adventurer. He used it for himself, to grow and like the great adventurer, and wanting to become like themselves one day. Pen clenches his fist, defiance in his teary eyes with a voice that may even fail him. But still, he wants to speak true for himself, “You don’t understand me ma. You keep saying that I should go to school and do what you expect me to do but I hate it! I hate how you transferred me to that nearby school when I was alright in my past school. Even though it was far, I kept telling you that I would have just been fine there! And now I transferred…all my fault and because of that, I feel choked. I’m not going to school because I want to anymore. There’s no meaning for me to go to school anymore! All I want now is to go out. And not be stuck with you for all my life!”
“…” His honesty, though genuine, is met with a harsh slap and glare. “Get out” Gritting her tongue, “GET OUT NOW BEFORE I KILL YOU!”
