Episode 27 Continued - Her Butler, Knowing the Culprit
“I’m sorry, Madam Beth,” Sebastian said, “but I cannot allow you to hurt my master.”
She gazed up then, eyes widening in horror. “H… how? HOW?”
His lips curled into a smile, showing a little bit of his teeth. “You seriously thought you killed me? My, master was right. When you get impulsive, you do not think of the little things, do you? Like the fact that…” he tipped his head to the side, “I was a demon?”
Her eyes grew in shock.
He just flicked his wrist, and she went flying, screaming and covering her face with her arms as she slid down the table.
Plates fell around at her movement, clashing with the floor and covering it in sharpened ceramic.
But she flew off the table and clashed with the wall, back cracking at the act.
I set my cheek in my hand, feeling Sebastian’s demonic presence swarm around me like a black fire.
“Sebastian’s not dead…?” Matilda said then, eyes widening.
“Oh, God…” Kate whispered.
Jamison watched him, horror-struck.
But Claudia…? Still in the corner, hiding her face.
Scarlet and Maddox just closed their eyes and bowed, stepping backward to the wall where Carter and Cammie stood. They were clearly keeping a distance, letting Sebastian take care of the rest.
And he did.
Sebastian’s smile sharpened as the candles around us blew out, and everyone let out scattered cries and whimpers of fear.
The lights flicked and burst, shattering in a matter of seconds.
Everyone screamed, all except for me, Beham, and my servants.
My lashes lowered when the shards of glass and plastic rained around us, although they never touched my skin.
The room grew dark despite the sunlight bleeding through the parted curtains, black swarming around us as a sudden wind blew my hair to the side.
My entire family screamed and huddled in a corner, attempting to shield each other from what was to come.
Madam Beham just remained in her seat, sipping her tea casually.
Sebastian’s low chuckle echoed through the room, bursting from nonexistent speakers. “Did you really think? That you can attempt to kill me, and then harm my master?
And get away with it?”
They covered their heads when the wind grew harder.
Madam Beth just screamed and shot up, dashing straight over to the doors to the ship.
But Sebastian was there in seconds, making her scramble to a stop.
His smile was dark, his teeth sharpening to spikes as his demonic eyes glowed through his shadow. “Where are you going to go? Swim to shore? The ocean will kill you, you know. Depressing. Is that really how you wanted to go?”
She took steps backward, and he followed with her, walking forward at the same pace.
Her eyes grew in fear as he towered over her, but his smile sharpened.
“Master,” he said, “may I?”
They all looked to me in horror, Madam Beham still sipping her tea.
I gazed up then, lips curling into a smirk as I pulled the string of my eye patch, letting it fall.
The mark in my right eye glowing a bright pink as my lashes lowered.
“Yumi, please, don’t!” Matilda cried, breath shaking. “We’re your family!”
I ignored her though, tipping my head to the side. “Don’t worry. I’ll make a nice memorial for you.” I gazed up then. “Sebastian, kill them.”
The mark in my eye immediately burst with light, and his smile widened as he lowered his head, setting his hand on his chest.
“I would love to, master.”
