By the age of 22, Colin Pelley has had an interesting life. From the age of 13, he has struggled persistently with his own sexuality, drug addiction, and homelessness. When he finds himself in a rehabilitation center, unsure of how he got there, he has finally hit a breaking point -- and his story must come to light, to save his life, and that of his little brother.
-The Larum of the Drums began to bud when my girlfriend and I started a short-term story based in a zombie apocalypse, starring Evan, Colin's younger brother. Later on in the story, Evan was meant to find Colin, but I had difficulty figuring out what Colin was all about and why he behaved the way he did. So, I found a Zombieland fan-based roleplay, and put Colin in it -- where I met a friend, and Colin met Sam. From there, their story blossomed and became intrinsically linked, and I learned that Colin had a much more interesting backstory than I intended.
