October 4th, 2053:
Talked to Mom today, it's been a while. She was in a nostalgic mood, which makes sense. It's her and Dad's 23rd anniversary. I can't believe they've actually been together that long... that's crazy.
While talking she kept saying things like, "You remember that one time when you were six years old, your sister cast you in a home movie?" No, Mom, I don't. I don't remember one bit of it, but I've watched the video. It was during Zinnia's weird tween phase where she apparently thought she was the next big director.
I was a prop, mostly, a blurry, compliant six-year-old being pushed around in a wagon. I must have been a very patient child. It feels so distant, like watching a documentary about a stranger.

October 8th, 2053: Liora just texted. It was almost inevitable. "OMG Lex, you totally owned the fundraiser! Everyone's talking about how sweet you are. So, listen, I was thinking, you're obviously super good at, like, planning stuff... and my birthday is coming up on 10th. You think you could help me out with the party?"
Lexi, of course, replied instantly with a buttload of emojis and an enthusiastic, "OMG YES! I'd love to! What kind of party are we thinking?" Another exhausting performance. I'm starting to think this whole "popularity" thing is just a never-ending series of mandatory social events. At least there'll probably be cake.

Oct 11: Last warning from teacher. Need to do math by Monday. Dad said keep an eye on Archie, don't know what that's supposed to mean.

Oct 18: Went out for coffee with Dad after school. Makes you think... two people presumed dead are sitting at a local café and drinking coffee... I don't know how to feel about that.
Liora's first world problems are starting to annoy me. Just today, she was complaining about getting an exact duplicate of the same fancy lip gloss she uses.
Sylvia is fun to gossip with. Just today she dropped so many bombshells on my classmates it's scary.
For example, Carly and her boyfriend apparently skipped Math class with a few others from a different homeroom last week on the one day of the week when I was absent. Thankfully for them, they didn't get caught.
You know, I've never really got to know him. Argent is one of those tall basketball fanatics, but he hasn't made it his whole description. When you think of him, you don't think, 'Oh, that guy from the basketball team'. I've talked to him once or twice as Lexi, but based off those few words, he's pretty chill.
Good. Carly needs an equal and opposite force to keep her in equilibrium. Whenever she sees me in the hallways I notice her eyes darting off, her mouth curving downwards in a frown. It means she's irritated by my existence. Oof.
Oh, back to the coffee thing, Dad told me something - finally.
He said, "Towards the end of the workshop, while you were heading over here, Aurelia made an announcement."
Wow, I haven't thought about her in ages.
"She was talking to Archie a lot, while you weren't around. I don't remember the rest, but it seemed to shift the balance in her favor. He agreed to help her with something, but they walk out of the security camera's range by the time I found out..."
I don't remember what else he said, but he said "Try to talk to him, see if you can find out what's happening."
But how am I supposed to do that?!
Also, I have Politics homework due in 2 days
