From a long time ago, in a place a great distance away, there was this girl, she was always “smiling” when she was around people because she was a royal, even when she was alone. She wore a mask all the time just to hide the hurt and the pain she felt on the inside daily. All the torment on her heart, everything she’d ever gone through all filling up her heart and dragging her down. Maybe one day… she would see her real smile again, the one she missed from her childhood.
Forced smiles and cheery voice tones were a talent of her’s because she had no choice. She knew little but sadness, was unsure of her real smile or if it existed anymore. All she knew was if she showed she was sad people would get mad at her. Once in a lifetime opportunities went by her one by one, love came and went, never once did she think she’d find someone sweet and caring.
A year or so into the search of true love came a true gentleman. Someone not caring about whether she was broken or whole. A boy that was himself, broken as one would say. Truly he wasn’t broken though, just horribly misunderstood. The girl wanted to show him that he was far from the broken person people made him out to be.
The two then started spending a lot of time talking to each other about things that they told no one else. For the girl she started out with her real name; she finally told a guy that her name was Zelda but had been going by Z for years.. And for the boy, he first revealed his name as well. His name was Brendon; the name perfectly fit him. He looked like a Brendon, he was so unique, so special. and never rash. He was a shy boy about 18 and missing out on love.
Zelda, she was 17, looking for true love and pure happiness. Looking to her future to see where to turn next in life. Who to help, how to help them, and what not to say to people that need help. She needed help with life and with her past. Brendon did too. He had a rougher past than her, but they had the same future in store. They were destined to be together, meeting on All Hallow’s Eve and never leaving each other’s side, in life or in death.
The days turned into weeks and weeks into months; they constantly got closer to each other. They had never seen any two people so close to each other in a relationship. They always were happier when they were together. Zelda and Brendon spent ninety percent of their time together just so they didn’t have to be upset. Brendon on occasion would share a rare smile with Zelda, and only Zelda, no one else ever saw him smile.
Ever heard of love at first sight or destiny? This is what they found and this is what they came to be. They grew older and they stayed together, they ended up married with kids of their own. A life full of happiness, never alone. Married til death and after, never leaving the other’s side. Watching their children grow up as they did, only having life easier and not being hurt. Love turns into life and life into love, especially when you’re with the one you can’t live without.
