Dr. Jonathan and Mr. Carter instantly recognized Dr. Montgomery the moment they saw him and Sophia lying unconscious on the ground. Rushing forward, they quickly laid down a plank crossed over as they carefully carried the two aboard the strange unknown ship. Along with ten other men who had accompanied the Dr on his quest, Dr. Montgomery and Sophia received immediate medical attention before the group set course for New Jersey
"Hello, this is Dr. Jonathan," he said into the radio. "Dr. Montgomery has been found. We are on our way back to New York."
"Any injuries or signs of illness?" the man on the other end of the line asked.
"They're all unconscious," Jonathan replied. "It's been 12 hours since we found them, and none of them have woken up yet."

"Damn it! Why can't you just die, Dr. Montgomery?" Aldrich Swami seethed, slamming the newspaper onto the table. His wife, seated beside him, placed a calming hand on his arm.
News of Montgomery's return spread across the city before the ship even arrived.
"Mom! It's Dad! He's coming home! They've been found!" Samuel shouted as he ran to his mother, Eleanor, holding up the newspaper.
The front doors swung open as Lillian rushed inside, breathless. "Dad!" she gasped, trying to catch her breath. The entire family erupted in excitement. Eleanor quickly handed Lillian a glass of water before turning to a nearby guard.
"Prepare the house," she instructed. Then, taking another guard with her, she headed to the market to buy supplies for Montgomery's long-awaited return.

"She's awake!" a doctor aboard the ship announced. Several crew members rushed into the room.

"Sophia, how are you feeling? Does anything hurt?" one of them asked.

She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. Panic flickered in her eyes as she tried again, but nothing. Frustrated, she attempted to stand, but her legs gave out beneath her. The men quickly caught her, helping her balance.

With trembling hands, she reached for a piece of paper and a pen, scribbling frantically. Every detail, every terrifying moment-everything she had witnessed was written down. That single sheet of paper held the secret to the danger looming over them all.
One of the men took the note and skimmed over it. "We'll look into this," he assured her. "For now, get some rest."
Outside the room, another crew member frowned. "What the hell was that?" he muttered. "She wrote for hours, but... could this be a side effect of being lost for so long?"
"Could be psychological trauma," another man suggested. "Maybe Stockholm syndrome. She needs time."
"No, listen," the first man insisted. "She was trying to speak, but nothing came out. And when we gave her that piece of paper? She didn't write a single thing. The pen never even touched the page."
Silence settled over them as they exchanged uneasy glances. Something was very, very wrong.
Dr. Montgomery slowly opened his eyes, his vision still hazy. The first thing he saw was Dr. Jonathan and Mr. Carter, the owner of the ship, standing beside him.
"Dr. Montgomery, you're awake," Jonathan said, relief evident in his voice. "Can you tell us what happened?"
"And your research," Mr. Carter added, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Was it a success?"
Montgomery took a deep breath before responding, "Yes, I found paradise. I got my hands on the fruit of immortality." His voice was weak, but filled with conviction. "If I can replicate its properties, we're looking at the answer to cancer, old age... even death itself."
Dr. Jonathan sank to the floor, his mind struggling to grasp the magnitude of what he had just heard. Mr. Carter, however, rushed to the window, his expression darkening. He realized he needed that fruit. No matter what it took, he would have it, even if it meant killing Montgomery or anyone else who stood in his way.
"Where is the fruit?" Carter asked, turning back to face Montgomery. "Can I see it?" His voice was steady, but the hunger in his eyes was unmistakable. "You've accomplished what no scientist ever could. This... this is the answer to old age."
Jonathan and Carter stepped out of the room, leaving Montgomery to rest.

AN HOUR LATER
A tray of food was brought to Dr. Montgomery, who had been stranded on that island for far too long. He had no choice butto eat if he wanted to keep up the charade. But after only a few spoonfuls of soup, his vision blurred, his body weakened, and he collapsed onto the floor.
"Finally," Carter murmured, standing over Montgomery's unconscious form. His hands trembled with excitement as he reached into his bag and pulled out the glowing fruit. It shimmered under the dim light, almost pulsating with life. "Immortality... old age... I will never die. I deserve this fruit. No one else should have it."
Without hesitation, he took a bite. The juices spilled over his lips, sweet and intoxicating. But before he could relish the moment, Dr. Jonathan burst into the room, his eyes widening in horror as he saw Montgomery sprawled on the floor.
"What did you do?" Jonathan shouted, grabbing Carter by the collar. "What the hell did you do?"
Carter's crew rushed in at the commotion, their faces uncertain as they assessed the situation. Their loyalties wavered.
"Throw this man overboard," Carter barked, his voice laced with desperation. "And I'll make you all rich-every last cent in my savings will be yours!"
Greed won over morality. The crew turned on Jonathan, beating him mercilessly until his body went limp. Without hesitation, they dragged him and Montgomery to the edge of the ship and tossed them into the dark abyss of the ocean.
Sophia, who had been standing at the door, witnessed it all. Her face twisted in horror. "What have you done?" she whispered, her voice trembling. Then, louder, more frantic, "He's coming! There's no way to hide!"
One of the crew members scoffed. "What the hell is she talking about?"
Then, the men who had accompanied Dr. Montgomery and Sophia to the island stood up. Their movements were slow, unnatural.
"What's up with these guys?" another crew member muttered. "They look... lifeless."He reached out, trying to shake one of them by the arm. But the moment he did, the flesh twisted unnaturally, and with a sickening snap, the arm came clean off, as blood spilled all over the place. They were no longer human.
Panic set in.
"Guns! Get your damn guns!" one of Carter's men shouted, firing round after round into the walking corpses. But the bullets had no effect.
Screams echoed through the ship as the creatures tore into the crew, devouring them alive. The stench of blood and death filled the air as Carter ran for his life, hiding inside one of the ship's rooms. He clutched his chest, his breath ragged.
"I'm immortal," he whispered to himself. "I shouldn't fear. I won't die. I can't die."
A warm breath brushed against the back of his neck.
"Are you sure about that?"
Carter spun around just as Dr. Montgomery-no, something far worse-revealed itself.
Abaddon had awoken.
Carter's stomach churned as he took in the monstrous form before him. His knees buckled, and he vomited onto the floor.
Abaddon's expression twisted in disgust. In a flash, he grabbed Carter, his clawed fingers sinking into his flesh.
"Ungrateful."
The agony was unbearable as Abaddon slowly pulled out Carter's intestines, inch by inch. His screams rang through the ship, but no one was left to save him.
"I'm... immortal," Carter gasped through the pain. "I ate the fruit... I should be fine..."
But the pain did not stop. It only intensified.A warm breath brushed against the back of his neck.

She did nothing. She felt nothing.
He gasped in horror. "Why aren't they doing anything to her?"
His voice cracked. And then, finally, he died.
Sophia stood still, her expression unreadable.
Outside, the ship drifted toward the New Jersey port.
