Hana, Kimiko, Minoru, Akio, Casper, Artemis, and Momo had been in the house for a few months and they had formed a lot of opinions on each other.
“SHORTIE!” Yelled Kimiko and Minoru in unanimous agreement.19Please respect copyright.PENANAUqKeyxkJsI
“I’M NOT SHORT!” Hollered Akio back at them.19Please respect copyright.PENANA0Eas3ryrps
“Guys stop being so mean to him!” said Hana trying to stop them from fighting. Casper was upstairs in her room while Momo and Artemis were watching the chaos unfold in the living space and eating popcorn. The living space was never referred to as the living room because it didn’t look like a living room, it looked more like a combination of everyone’s room. There was a place for toys and a place for makeshift weapons. There were art supplies and clothes for sewing. There was a TV but when the world is in shambles nothing is on so they would place different pieces of paper with different illustrations on the TV. It would usually end in chaos but that was fine. Kimiko and Minoru stopped teasing Akio after a while and then it was time for Kimiko and Minoru to head out to get more supplies.
“Can I come with you two this time?” Momo asked,
“I dunno, can you be quiet and sneak around without getting caught?” Answered Kimiko
“Yes, I can.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAWcyghRmsDZ
“You sure?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAqaR7fwIH5J
“Why couldn’t I?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAzfuyWwVj8F
“Cause when you first got here you got caught really fast by me.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAVFYjiSRQ1O
“That was like…a few months ago!”19Please respect copyright.PENANAU4mE6pPVNj
“And now you’re yelling.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAqJerfF7wpj
“PLEASE!?”
“hmmmm…What do you think, Minoru?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAMaDOwh2VJ4
“I think we should give her a test run.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAKFipiJtv4I
“Alright, come on Momo.”
Kimiko, Minoru, and Momo left the house and wandered into the city's empty streets— well, they weren’t empty; it was just full of the undead.
“Minoru, head over there to that building while I take Momo over to the building down the street, Alright?” Kimiko said, breaking the silence.
“Sounds good to me, just don’t die.” He said.19Please respect copyright.PENANATX69jUcYPU
“Hey! That’s my line!” Kimiko retorts while giving him an amused huff and walking off with Momo.
“Welcome to your test run Momo.” Kimiko announced but it fell on deaf ears because Momo was too busy looking around the city. She had walked by the city when she first arrived here but being in the city's ruins hit a bit different. Abandoned cars littered the streets while the undead roamed around aimlessly. Empty buildings were being taken over by wildlife.
“Catch the plan, airhead?” Kimiko said.19Please respect copyright.PENANA6ZfysoNokZ
“No, I didn’t.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAl1KeLCjdKG
“First mistake. Now listen this time.”19Please respect copyright.PENANATqeU5gJs2T
“Yes ma’am.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAnOGWQqkfhK
“We have to get in that white building but as you can see there’s a hoard right there, it’s your job to lead them away from the opening so I can get the entrance open then you are to lose as many of the zombies as possible and get in so I can close off the entrance before the zombies get in.”
“How am I supposed to lead them away!?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAl3oI2S9J6D
“See that black car with a big dent in the side down the street?”19Please respect copyright.PENANApK5t59ZjOb
“Yeah?”
“Break the glass and honk the horn.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAX2Irr4jATq
“How do I-”19Please respect copyright.PENANAAwRA3gjN1m
“Take this key and hit the rim of the glass and if that doesn’t work…do it again until it does.”
“Break the glass and honk the horn.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAkXR4S8n65d

“Take this key and hit the rim of the glass and if that doesn’t work…do it again until it does.”
“I’ll do my best!”19Please respect copyright.PENANAzlC5fyq0Gv
“You better because if you don’t you might die but keep an eye on your surroundings.”19Please respect copyright.PENANANS1u9vUHVT
“Yes ma’am.”19Please respect copyright.PENANATYU7OojgJ1
“Drop the ma’am thing, it’s weird.”19Please respect copyright.PENANATa2vBLugA8
“Yes, ma’-.”
Momo starts walking towards the car with the key in hand. She looks back at Kimiko at where she was a few moments ago and Kimiko gives her a thumbs up and a smile. Momo hits the window like she was told to do and the window breaks after three tries. She reaches her hand in and pushes the middle of the wheel. Honk Honk! Momo looks up to see the hoard coming straight for her. She runs down the street trying to dodge all the undead coming straight for her and into an alleyway to run up the street on the other side. It was different on the other side of the building but this wasn’t the time to stand around so Momo ran up the street towards the general direction of where Kimiko was. She goes down another alley to find the building she needed to get to a little further down than she would have liked. She ran for it.
Kimiko watches as Momo runs down the street to the building. Kimiko holds open the broken door as Momo runs inside. She drops the door with a thud and turns to face Momo.
“Good job for your first try Momo”19Please respect copyright.PENANA71yexmiknI
“Really?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAHVmBDxDxQ2
“Yeah but take some time to catch your breath.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAnN5htVHLlY
“Alright.” Momo says as she sits down to breathe.
They sat around for a good while until Kimiko said that they should probably start looking around this place. It was a medical building so it had rooms upon rooms upon rooms. The sun was still out lighting the otherwise darkened hallways.
“Keep close to me. I don’t want you roaming off and getting yourself hurt.” Kimiko said after they looked around the hospital.
“Wouldn’t it be better to split up to cover more ground?” Momo asked Kimiko.19Please respect copyright.PENANA2urdKphtj4
“Mistake number two, Never, NEVER under any circumstances go by yourself. It never ends well and I won’t be around to help you if you find a zombie.” Kimiko’s answer was conflicting because she had just had Momo run off on her own in a far more dangerous area.
“But didn’t you just make m-” Momo was cut off,
“That is a different story.” Kimiko said. It still didn’t make sense but it would probably be better to question her when they were at base where it would be safe. Well, safer.
Momo didn’t have a weapon to defend herself; the only thing she had were a few bags to store her stuff in. Both started walking down the hospital hallway, which was lined with empty stretchers and desks with old medical supplies. The smell of rotting got stronger the closer they got to the main area, the reception desk.
Momo flinched at the sight of a young lady's corpse that was at the front desk, lying back in her chair as her skin was peeling away from her now visible bones. Maggots were eating away at what was left. Momo felt like puking at the sight of the body. Kimiko grabbed Momo’s arm and started pulling her away from the front desk and into the next room. Momo almost got to see the room, however her eyes were covered by Kimiko’s hand. Momo was blinded but she could smell the stench of the room, it was worse here than in the reception. She was led through the room by Kimiko.
“The way you reacted to the lady in the front means you really wouldn’t want to see this room.” Kimiko said after covering Momo's mouth with a cloth which helped to muffle the terrible smell. Momo stepped in something squishy but was continued to be pulled forward by Kimiko.
Kimiko slowly walked through the room filled with, what were, patients and people waiting to be seen. The smell was awful and she only had the one cloth to use. Exiting the room led them into a hallway with dirty walls and floors with plants growing in through the windows of the side rooms. Kimiko closed the door behind them and uncovered Momo’s eyes.
“We can roam around just a little bit but still stay close.” Kimiko waved her hand towards the hallway as she walked to the first room there. Momo decided to search the other side of the hallway. Kimiko walked into the sight of a little kids’ body lying down on the medical chair with what she assumed were the kids' parents sitting in the chairs close to the door. The countertop had exactly what Kimiko was looking for, bandages and pain meds, stuffing them into the small bag Kimiko had around her waist. Then she turned to see a mirror. It’s been a long time since Kimiko had looked at herself. The messy hair and dirty clothes, a scratched-up face and arms. The scars from past events. But this was all anyone had, she might have had it better than someone else. You couldn’t be worried about what you look like while trying to survive.
Momo entered the room, noting that it was labeled room R24, she had no idea what the R was for. The room was big enough for a check-up, there was a blue spinning chair in front of a white and black countertop. Light brown cupboards above the countertop. Looking through them, Momo found meds, bandages, swatch sticks, blue gloves, and syringes. One too many syringes for Momo’s liking. One of them looked like it was being prepared with a clear white liquid inside. Momo grabbed the bandages, meds, and some gloves. Momo met Kimiko in the hallway. Then they moved down the hallway two rooms at a time.
Kimiko had entered the last room while Momo waited outside, staying on the lookout. Kimiko was about to grab a water bottle when the floor broke underneath her.
“MOMO!” Kimiko yelled out as Momo ran over to grab her arms. Momo wasn’t fast enough and Kimiko fell down two floors.
“Momo don’t come down here, just go out and get Minoru from our meeting place. It’s by the bright red car at the start of the city.” Kimiko gave the orders to Momo and Momo nodded and ran to find Minoru.
Kimiko layed there for a bit before trying to get out of the debris. It wasn’t easy and she got cut here and there but she was alright as long as she ignored the pain in her legs and back, mainly on the left side. She looked at the large container in front of her, it was filled with a clear liquid. This was easy to brush off because have you ever seen a colored liquid at a hospital?Kimiko limped around for a while and found a door. It was old and rusted so it wouldn’t open easily but that's fine because she didn't need to go through it. There was a rolling table in front of the containers, it held a tray with a few needles on it. Only two were filled up. Now that Kimiko was looking closely, it looked like someone was here not too long ago. Now that’s concerning. Looking past the tray and table there was another door. It had a small coffee table next to it, it had a cup on the table. The cup still had steam coming from it…now that means the person is either in the darkness or went into the room when the floor broke through.
Kimiko hears a crash and a thud coming from where she was. It was Minoru who had jumped down here like an idiot and Momo chose to follow him.
“You morons! You scared me half to death!” Kimiko told them. They said sorry and then they grouped up with Kimiko pointing out the cup and the door.
“Momo go hide in the ceiling pieces while me and Minoru open that door.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAUjcziDI9or
“Are you sure?” Momo asked.19Please respect copyright.PENANAMV7fvyddbs
“Yes.” Kimiko confirmed. Minoru and Kimiko watched as Momo went and hid herself in the pile of ceiling and floor. Minoru and Kimiko walked over to the door and Minoru slowly opened the door. Inside the room was a carpet floor and a green couch with another coffee table in front of it. It had a kitchen to the right of the living room area and it had a kitchen island. Then there was a small hallway with a room at the end. They could see a bed and a ceiling fan in the room, there was also a source of light in the bedroom.
Stepping into the apartment-looking room, they could smell coffee in every corner of the place. SLAM! Both of them turned around to see the door was closed. Minoru tried opening the door but it was no use.
“Guys!? Are you guys ok!?” Momo yelled from the other side.19Please respect copyright.PENANAazfK1KRGqJ
“We can’t get the door open! See if you can open the door on the other side of the room you're in and then try finding a way in here!” Kimiko said.
“I’ll see what I can do.”19Please respect copyright.PENANApnnjVN2vrx
“Don’t get hurt!” Kimiko yelled out but got no response from Momo.19Please respect copyright.PENANAdu64Eusyoy
“So what should we do, Minoru?” Kimiko asked, turning around to see no Minoru.19Please respect copyright.PENANADZR2R2RXXY
“MINORU!?” Kimiko yelled out his name. No response.19Please respect copyright.PENANA8jzjE9dNVU
“In here.” Said Minoru from down the hall. Kimiko walked into the bedroom with Minoru who was going through the drawers.
“Really?” Kimiko said.19Please respect copyright.PENANAC3Bmy2FuYd
“Yeah.”19Please respect copyright.PENANApXxRnY91ra
“We need to be finding a way out, not looking for treasure.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAoQBBd7UWHx
“But what if there's a key?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAyRAj9EBzW3
“You have a point on that one but I’m also more concerned about the fact that we’re stuck in here with someone else.”
“How do you know they’re in here?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAHZtZyjcpCM
“Because something would have happened to Momo if the person wasn’t in here.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAPX4YA7GwIK
“Just look around.”19Please respect copyright.PENANApPI8hTG3Tx
“Fine, Whatever.”
Kimiko walked away and into the kitchen. It was a nice kitchen, nicer than the kitchen they had. It was a wood kitchen until you got to the top of the countertops, which was a deep blue color made of glass…? It was clear and shiny. Looking at the knife holder, a few knives were missing but that wasn’t the unusual thing. The unusual thing was the fact that there was a place on the knife holder where it looked like a knife had been removed recently, as in just a few moments ago recently. Kimiko started backing away and turned around to get Minoru only to find herself in what looked like a different room. Kimiko ran down the hallway to find a different room. The bed was now red instead of the green color that it was when she first went in there. Kimiko left the room and went to where the door to exit was, this time it opened. She found herself in a room full of large containers and…doctors? But they weren’t there before so why were they there now? The ceiling wasn’t broken and everything looked new and clean.
The pure white was blinding at first and now Kimiko could see that the doctors were looking at her in disgust, the dirty clothes and face, the messy hair, and the bad smell made it look like a homeless psycho just ran in here. Maybe they thought she was hallucinating from the confusion.
“How did you get in here? This is a restricted area.” One doctor with the blue tie said.19Please respect copyright.PENANAAxZ7Xo2uSu
“Uh…” Kimiko didn’t have a response, the first time in years she didn’t have an answer.19Please respect copyright.PENANAYCl84P6xe9
“Where did you come from?” Questioned the doctor in the green tie.19Please respect copyright.PENANAd2gxVBrtaJ
“I don’t- I don’t know. Where’s the door?” Kimiko said when she looked behind her to see there was no longer a door.
Minoru was looking through the drawers when he heard something move outside the room. He left the bedroom and walked down the hallway only to see Kimiko on the kitchen floor, lying in a puddle of her own blood. She had been stabbed in the back but she was still breathing so he dragged her over to the living room and used the bandages Kimiko had found and wrapped her up. The blood slowed down and now Minoru was looking around trying to see where the attacker was. He backed himself into a corner and pulled out his pocket knife. Pointing it out towards the kitchen area and moving back and forth. It stayed silent. Nothing moved in the entire room for what felt like hours.
KNOCK KNOCK! Minoru yelled after hearing the only sound he had heard in a while.19Please respect copyright.PENANA16WE9KkUDw
“ARE YOU OK!?” Yelled back Momo from the other side of the door.19Please respect copyright.PENANAZ1rQ8xDCUy
“I’m fine but Kimiko isn’t.” Minoru said.19Please respect copyright.PENANAJMUPCd9OCM
“Well I found a way to open the door but I wanted to make sure that no one was in front of the door so they wouldn’t get hurt.” Momo explained.
“Do it because we have to find a way out of this bottom floor place and get Kimiko through the city and back to base before she stops breathing.” Minoru told Momo through the door. Momo started ramming the door, BANG BANG BANG until the door gave way.
“Hey Minoru… where’s Kimiko?” Momo asked.19Please respect copyright.PENANA8nyf1L1Fup
“The couch. Now help me carry her. I need you to get her on my back.” Minoru answered.19Please respect copyright.PENANAJ20WUibYiI
Momo managed to get Kimiko onto Minoru’s back and then they left the apartment-like side room.
“So, where do we go now?” Momo asked.
“I don’t know Momo but we have to find a way out of here. But what did happen with you anyway?” Minoru asked Momo.
“I got bored of hiding so I walked around exploring until I found a bug. I watched it for a while before I walked over to the door to try opening it.” Momo responded.
Back to Kimiko’s time travel situation,19Please respect copyright.PENANA08pKcRGxtV
“I will ask you this one more time. WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!?” The doctor in the blue tie yelled. She was currently being held hostage by a bunch of doctor scientist people which certainly wasn’t the twist Kimiko expected. Kimiko flinched as he yelled,
“I told you already. There was a door and now there’s not a door. I walked in through the door and then got teleported here.” Kimiko explained once again to the doctor.
“There has never been a door there and there never will be so how did you get here.” The doctor was frustrated because he wasn’t getting anywhere with this homeless girl who had somehow gotten in.
“Well, there was a door when I was with Minoru.” Kimiko said.19Please respect copyright.PENANAKO0pxtJi9d
“Who is Minoru and where is he?” Doctor asked.19Please respect copyright.PENANAYzeu1YBqcu
“He’s probably still in the room. I hope Momo’s alright considering we left her in the old version of this room.” Kimiko said.
“No no no no, There is no ‘old version’ of this room.”19Please respect copyright.PENANA2vG60pVjvM
“It’s the only thing that helps this whole situation make sense.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAP1swEeQvje
“No, it doesn’t.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAo7X51KfKTb
“Shut up.” The doctor called out for someone else to come over to talk. The doctor with a red tie came over and stood right in front of Kimiko while glaring down at her. Then he had a look of surprise on his face.
“Why are you bleeding? You don’t have any wounds on you.” He asked.19Please respect copyright.PENANAJ3z1e4LnIm
“Hm?” Kimiko hummed in response but she knew what he was talking about. She could feel the blood coming from her mouth and there was a pain in her chest.
“You're not hurt so why are you bleeding?” He asked again.19Please respect copyright.PENANAu5FZOWAOUG
“I don’t know.” Kimiko confessed. There was a pause until the doctor with a green tie spoke up,19Please respect copyright.PENANAx3dqIVF05p
“Since she’s not supposed to be here, couldn’t we just use her?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAQxej7DQfj3
“Use me for what?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAER6Sid3ml8
“We have this…experiment we need to try. Don’t worry, it's not dangerous.”19Please respect copyright.PENANASPcMPuUqcq
“This is concerning and no I do not consent to this.”19Please respect copyright.PENANA5gtK2puW5f
“You broke in here.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAu9IJJw7WYt
“What does this have anything to do with doing something to me?” It went back and forth between Kimiko and the green-tied doctor. The doctor kept saying that it wasn't dangerous but he wouldn’t tell what it was. Kimiko didn’t budge. At some point she felt a wet cloth being rubbed against her left shoulder, looking over she saw that they were cleaning that one area which meant they were about to inject something.
She stared a bit.19Please respect copyright.PENANAUYaFgONfIs
“What do you think you’re doing?” Kimiko asked the one preparing her shoulder.
“I don’t want to but orders are orders.” He said.19Please respect copyright.PENANAK70WCvLThJ
“What are you going to give me?” Kimiko asked him.19Please respect copyright.PENANAq3aJsLHAX4
“It’s a…I’m not sure how to put this,” He said,19Please respect copyright.PENANAbwBINW4iDc
“The best way I could think of putting it is that it’s a drug that supposedly heals.” He explained.19Please respect copyright.PENANAsPS19Ufbdf
“Supposedly?”19Please respect copyright.PENANA5NDPucZUsX
“We’ve used it on patients before and they’ve healed but reports have come back saying that19Please respect copyright.PENANA0rioRc5jge
the person who was given the drug has started acting weird or different.” He paused before continuing.
“They want to test it on you and see how it works.” He finished.19Please respect copyright.PENANAKhX9d1hqZt
“So you’re saying I’m the guinea pig here?” Kimiko said bluntly.19Please respect copyright.PENANAu3geNgP2xt
“Yes.” He said. He sounded sad so Kimiko wasn’t going to blame him…for now at least.
Kimiko watched as he started preparing the needle, filling it with the clear liquid.19Please respect copyright.PENANAg0ivG14sqn
“What did you mean by they started acting strange?” Kimiko decided to ask before she was injected.
“They started acting differently in a way that has been explained as tired-like.” The doctor said,19Please respect copyright.PENANAz4jj3IEDas
“Zombie-like?” Kimiko said with slight worry.19Please respect copyright.PENANALpZxNXCqMV
“Um…yeah actually.” The doctor said, sounding surprised.19Please respect copyright.PENANAJyhzcohui5
“Don’t put that in my arm.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAk7ekFCES88
“I have to.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAoWbplIaWEv
“No. Trust me, just don’t.”19Please respect copyright.PENANA8ofaYSrPjJ
“Do you know something?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAaxcmeFhhA0
“Yes. They started feeling hungry for something…more human, correct?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAB1lk11n7xi
“How did you-?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAImNnRQZR2n
“Do they seem to mumble their words?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAiG0lcNY8Eq
“Yes.”19Please respect copyright.PENANA0cxIiHsOP9
“Do they walk hunched over?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAfriMqALivx
“Yes.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAAARHWCxup7
“Zombies.”19Please respect copyright.PENANANcTkcvjhpd
“Zombies aren’t real.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAHC7UMgifje
“They will be.” The doctor stared at Kimiko in disbelief but Kimiko just stared back. The doctor could tell she was serious and now thought about the fact that she seemed to know about the patients without him telling her everything.
“Inject her if you want your son to live, Professor Beasley.” said the doctor in the red tie. Kimiko’s eyes widened at this.
“You’re going to kill his child over me?” She asked.
Momo and Minoru had managed to find a way out of the basement-like hospital area that they were in. Now they were on the ground floor. The sun was starting to go down, the light slowly leaving the hospital.
“We have to hurry!” Minoru said with high concern.19Please respect copyright.PENANAsJpYIBPcw0
“Why?” Momo asked.
“Not only is Kimiko bleeding out to death but roaming the city at night is a death wish!” Minoru examined.
“Lead the way.” Momo said. Minoru and Momo rushed down the hall that used to be somewhat welcoming. They entered a room with the dead hunched over desks. Momo now knew why Kimiko had covered her eyes when they had first gotten here. Leaving the waiting room led them to the reception room. The dead lady was still there, sitting in her chair. They passed by and exited the hospital. The streets outside were darkened and dim. The sun had fully set. Minoru was panicking while Momo was trying to find the way around the city.
Soon a zombie caught a whiff of blood and started making its way over bringing more zombies with it. Minoru and Momo had to run.
“Zombies move faster when they smell blood.” Minoru explained while they ran for their lives.19Please respect copyright.PENANA5g9iRtIJI4
“Why?” Momo asked.19Please respect copyright.PENANA9fiH91Pe9J
“I’ll explain if we even manage to get home.” He said in response. They had been running for what felt like hours. Slowly walking up the dirt pathway.
“Hey, I’m sorry that your first time out didn’t end so well.” Minoru apologized.19Please respect copyright.PENANAWDhTAfeKo6
“No, it’s fine. I’m more concerned about Kimiko.” Momo said. They walked up to the front door and knocked. Minoru and Momo listened as the thumping from inside got louder and louder until the door opened.
“OMG, YOU’RE ALIVE!!!” Casper yelled. Minoru and Momo walked in without responding and placing Kimiko on the couch.
“Can you grab the medical stuff?” Minoru asked Casper.19Please respect copyright.PENANAEjbV4n9FgK
“Yeah, is she ok?” Casper said while walking off to grab disinfectants and bandages.19Please respect copyright.PENANAIUs5MN8Rm4
“I’m sure she’ll be alright but she will need a lot of rest.” He explained.19Please respect copyright.PENANAFLlOFDuhBR
“Momo go off to bed, we can talk in the morning I promise.” Minoru told Momo.
Momo nodded her head and walked off to her room to sleep. Casper and Minoru dealt with Kimiko’s wound and then went to bed. The morning sun rose on the horizon, waking the world to its ongoing misery. Minoru was sitting on the floor in front of the brown couch they hadin the living space, watching Kimiko, when Momo came in.
“So, you wanna talk?” Momo asked hesitantly.19Please respect copyright.PENANAY4BMFV7t5h
“Yeah, we can talk.”19Please respect copyright.PENANADKbn1jrTSm
“Uh…”19Please respect copyright.PENANA2cqRgBN1SW
“You did well for your first time Momo.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAwh1ilAVP0a
“Thanks.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAXnvYjKX6n1
“The zombies do go faster when they smell blood because they want to spread the virus.”19Please respect copyright.PENANACaSeswsp69
“Really?”19Please respect copyright.PENANABygA3s3sHn
“That’s what we think. And the zombies are more dangerous at night because we can’t see them. We can only rely on hearing but the zombies' hearing is better than ours.”
“I see.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAHWolN8F8Wf
“Did Kimiko give you any ‘mistakes’ while you were with her?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAzqEdvEU9kB
“She said that my first mistake was not listening.”19Please respect copyright.PENANA2TF8ee4mbG
“That’s fair. You can’t be stuck in your head when there’s danger around you.”19Please respect copyright.PENANACSbVsw7sPw
“Yeah, then she said that my second mistake was asking to split up.”
“After she sent you off on your own?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAyvkjv9JKqO
“Yes.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAF9UOjztPrl
“Typical. She wants to see how fast you are, how good you can process information, and your reflexes.”
“That makes sense but did she really have to have me run for my life?”19Please respect copyright.PENANA1gozvSnWW0
“Apparently.”19Please respect copyright.PENANArReLtaUyhZ
They stopped their conversation as they looked over at Kimiko.19Please respect copyright.PENANAEmADCfIi7g
“I should have listened to her when she told me that we should be finding a way out, not looking around in drawers.”
“What?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAfiCpKnotJV
“The room was similar to an apartment room and I was too busy looking around instead of trying to find a way out or seeing if we were alone.”
“Don’t feel too bad. At least we got her out of there safely, right?”19Please respect copyright.PENANAMrWTMlulP1
“I guess so.”19Please respect copyright.PENANAnEAk2FNE8o
Momo could tell that he wasn’t feeling any better. There was probably a lot on his mind so maybe it would be better to give him some space for a while. Then Momo got the idea to cook everyone some breakfast. She got up and left the living space and walked towards the kitchen. It wasn’t a special kitchen and it certainly wasn’t a good one but it’s what they had and that was good enough. She wandered over to the countertop and grabbed some pasta they had been saving for a while. It was now or never. She reached under the counter into the open space below and grabbed a metal pot. Walking over to the sink to place the pot inside, filling it with water. Pot now heavy with water she brung it to the stove top and set it on medium heat.
“What are you making?” Minoru called out from the living space.19Please respect copyright.PENANAFpFSQQ3bSd
“The pasta.” Momo answered and since she didn’t get an answer back she assumed that it was ok to cook the pasta. She watched as the water boiled in the pot before opening the pasta packet and putting in the noodles.
Time seemed to pass by slowly for Kimiko who was still stuck in…wherever she was now. She could tell she was in a different room but she also couldn’t see. Everything was black and there was a constant ringing in her ears. It was hard to think about what had happened just mere moments ago. At some point, the ringing stopped and she opened her eyes to see multiple containment cells. She could hear the sounds some of them were making and it was unsettling, they were the sounds of people being turned into zombies. The yelling turned into screeching into a low murmur. The room was white in color with a bright light on the ceiling. Now the only reasonable thing to do was find a way out. Kimiko sat there while her head cleared itself from feeling light-headed. The bed in the room wasn’t very comfortable and it felt like it was made of cold stone. Standing up was a bit of a challenge but Kimiko managed. Then an announcement went off, “All cells are to be locked down immediately! I repeat all cells are to be locked down immediately!” The lights in the hallway had gone down and the door sounded like it locked itself.
Kimiko’s cell light went out but she could still see.19Please respect copyright.PENANAM2nBzlNBrf
“Hm.” she hummed as she looked out of the cell’s window on the door. She could see something moving up the hallway, maybe it was someone checking to see if all the cells closedproperly. However the closer they got the less human they seemed to be. Hunched over and slow-moving, walking down the hallway until something seemed to catch its attention. Kimiko looked down the other side of the hallway to see someone standing, holding something in their hand. She could hear the talking ever so slightly, loud enough for her to know they were talking but soft enough to irritate her. Like something you want but it’s just out of reach. Then the hunched-over person sprinted to the one standing. They stood their ground and held up the weapon ready to strike the second the hunched over got close. They swung the knife-looking weapon to land a hit but they had launched their attack too soon and only managed to scrape the upper chest of the hunched over. The hunched toppled on top of the other guy and Kimiko could hear the screaming.
Then the hunched over got back up and started wandering aimlessly but then the other person got up but now they were just like the hunched over. Was Kimiko watching how zombies started? This wasn’t good. She had to get out of there before she was detected by the zombies just outside her cell door. Kimiko started feeling around the room until she felt something she hadn’t seen before. It was a vent but would it be big enough to fit in? Kimiko had to slowly push her bed over to the wall with the vent. Standing on the bed helped her feel around the vent a lot better than when she was on the ground. The vent was, in fact, too small to fit a grown person. Now what? Kimiko then got the idea to find a way to open the cell door. But what about the zombies at the door? Kimiko walked over to the door and peered out. The zombies seemed to have seen someone and went after them. Kimiko started feeling around the door but there was nothing she could use to open it.
Suddenly the door opened but Kimiko didn’t leave, instead she hid inside the room. She could hear the undead noises from down the hall. Kimiko was in a position where she had to leave and get out or stay and get killed. She didn’t know if all the doors were open or where she would be going but she wasn’t going to go down that easily. Kimiko stood up and looked around the hall. The zombies were at the end standing in front of the door, at the other end of the hallway had another door but who knows if there was another group of zombies beyond it. Kimiko got down and started to crawl over the door. It was important to remain silent as she made her way to the closed door. Kimiko slowly reached up and held the door handle, moving it bit by bit. It was painfully slow. She finally opened the door to find another hallway. It was empty so Kimiko carefully moved through it and got to the end of that hallway only for there to be another door that needed to be opened. Kimiko opened that door just as slowly as the last door and looked into a large room. It was too dark to see anything. She slowly stood up and walked into the room. She walked around the edges until she bumped into something made of glass.
It was one of those big containers from when she was first in the room. When there were still doctors and the lights were on. Kimiko started to feel around the big container, the glass was broken. Kimiko decided that she probably shouldn’t touch it and moved on with exploring the now abandoned room. Eventually, she found an offshoot to another room and so she entered. It was just as dark as all the other rooms but Kimiko could tell she wasn’t the only one in there. There was silent breathing near the back of the room and she could feel a gaze looking right at her. Kimiko, against her better judgment, walked further into the room heading right forthe other person. She stood in front of the breathing when the person pulled her down. She was whirled around. She could feel the other person's left side as she was held there. The person covered her mouth and then she heard a zombie walking close by. Kimiko felt a sharp pain in her chest and coughed up blood. The zombie ran directly to them. Kimiko blacked out.
Minoru, Momo, Artemis, Casper, and Akio were sitting at the table eating the pasta that Momo had made when they heard coughing from the living space. Minoru and Artemis ran into the living space to see that Kimiko was gaining some of her consciousness. She slightly pushed herself up before she gave up and laid back down. Minoru and Artemis sat down in front of the couch and started trying to get a response from Kimiko.
“Kimie Kimie!” Minoru said repeatedly while Artemis was asking if she was ok.19Please respect copyright.PENANAxE0WNpNiuZ
“Hmmmm” Kimiko let out a pained groan.19Please respect copyright.PENANAbBe8NbzV8m
“Shhhud up” she finished. Minoru chuckled at the slurred and mispronounced words. They quieted down as the others entered the room. Over the next few days, Kimiko got better and everything went back to normal until Artemis wanted to go out with Minoru and Kimiko.
