Xenon  Lykoudis, 48, is a widow and a single father who lives on the outskirts of Helena, Montana, with his five-year-old son. He makes his living as a cowboy, tending to his land alongside his friends from the Flathead Indian Reservation. Xenon is desired and respected, but he holds a secret that only his friends know; he is a werewolf. His friends from the reservation would call him a skinwalker. Not even his son knows of his form. Xenon does everything in his power to hide his identity, even if it means preventing dating, no matter how lonely he feels. That changes when he meets Estelle.

Estelle Santacruz (32) moves to Montana for a fresh start after divorcing her husband, who had been cheating on her. Her heart broken, she tries not to fall for any man, but when she meets Xenon, she feels her world shift. They both become interested in one another, but then they face a problem. Women have been found murdered, making the city of Helena afraid. Xenon fears for her safety, and his concerns come true as the murderer makes its interest in Estelle known. 

Xenon not only has to worry about his son and Estelle, but also about revealing his identity. Will Xenon be able to protect and be with Estelle, or will the mysterious murderer get to her?
