They decide to check out the level labeled “Y” for Yellow. According to the picture of the guidebook, Tucker provided them with this is a hangout area. They go up there and sure enough, the walls and floor are an inviting shade of yellow. Chris and Tucker remember that their room, which is on the green level is one floor above this. They realize that seven floors are the colors of the rainbow consecutively, which is pretty cool. This floor is pretty big. It has a couple couches, cafe style tables, TVs, and computers. They all take turns buying things from one of the large vending machines in the back of the area. They go to sit down at a table to talk about how they ended up here.
“Then next thing we know we’re being taken away in a helicopter!” Stevon finishes before taking a long sip of his caramel frappuccino.
“Wow that’s amazing,” Chris replies as Tucker nods.
“Not as amazing as electricity powers! I mean now that you guys can control them you guys will be the coolest heroes,” Jett argues playfully.
“Hey, you’ll be controlling your powers in no time. We just got here yesterday after club. Our powers started acting up during the meeting and Sra. Alaska came into the bathroom and told us about the Powers of Pride. She immediately brought us here, took us to see doctors and then let us train in the training room with professionals. We’re not perfect but at least now we have control. You’ll get there buddy,” Tucker replies.
“Hey wait, how did you two get down to the prison level without setting off the alarm?” Chris questions suddenly.
“Oh, Jett temporarily rewired the alarm so it wouldn’t go off. He’s a genius you know,” Stevon brags about his friend. “We could ask you two the same thing,” he adds.
“Nothing sophisticated and intelligent like hotwiring. I just took the power out of it so it couldn’t turn on,” Tucker replies with a smile.
Jett gives them a shy look before turning to Stevon. Tucker and Chris look at them curiously, wondering what they are thinking about them.
“You two should show us your kick-ass skills. Entertain us,” Stevon commands them in his usual sassy tone.
The other three teens just laugh. Jett will never fail to be amused by the bold nature of his best friend. Tucker and Chris stand up dramatically. Tucker runs over to an outlet with his hands out before diving at the wall. Stevon and Jett gasp, thinking he’s going to hit his head but instead he goes straight through the outlet before popping out of the other one on the other side of the wall. He does a handspring back to his feet with a huge grin on his face. He sits back down while gesturing towards his friend.
Chris sprints over to the light before leaping up to tap it as teenagers enjoy doing, except when they do it the light suddenly goes out and their body becomes a fluorescent blue color. They walk over to the table where Jett and Stevon are looking at them in disbelief. Chris picks up Stevon’s phone and sticks the tip of their finger into the charge port. The color in his body goes back to the Olive color it usually is. They place the phone back on the table and sit down while smirking. Stevon picks up his phone to see that it went from 5% battery to 100% battery.
“Alright, that’s enough of us showing off. What about you? I’d love to see what kind of strength you have,” Tucker tells Jett.
He looks down at the glass Snapple bottle that he refused to touch since Stevon set it on the table in front of him. Chris lightly nudges their friend in the ribs before giving him a look.
“You don’t have to show us of course. Tuck meant nothing by it, Jett. ” Chris explains as Tucker nods in agreement. “Are you offended?” They add when he doesn’t respond.
“No it’s fine but I don’t want to hurt anybody, especially people I know. I already got my whole neighborhood to rebel against me,” Jett mutters.
“You just woke up with your strength? I mean Chris and I got our powers through conversion therapy. Do you know where your powers came from?” Chris asks.
“No! I have absolutely no idea and it’s driving me crazy. Maybe the doctors can tell me later,” He comments hopefully.
The four of them look out the window to see the sun start to come up. Stevon checks his phone to see that it is already 6 am. Tucker and Chris get up to leave.
“Well, I’m going to go home to get my things. I’ve already agreed to be a hero and I want to live here in the tower,” Tucker muses as he grabs the other half of his breakfast sandwich.
“I still haven’t decided if I want to be a hero or not, but either way I have to go home and see my parents,” Chris admits as they link arms with their partner.
The two of them make their way out of the room and to the elevator, leaving the other two boys in the rec room.
