The waiting room was a bare, white room and the only light source was a window which was just big enough to have a slight look outside. Rows of uncomfortable chairs filled the room with one or two magazines placed messily on the end of each row. There were only a few other people in the room a part from Chloe, all of them she knew quite well. She sat on the end of the furthest row possible and flicked through a magazine about gardening, nothing that took her interest. The magazine looked a bit mangled and she peered at it's date, '17/6/2009'.This place needs some refurnishing... she thought as she placed the magazine back in it's place and as soon as it touched the table next to her a door burst open. Chloe sat straight up and took a look at the opened door. There, stood staring right at her, was the doctor she was meant to see.506Please respect copyright.PENANA3LkqFN6o5m
"Are you OK, DR?" the young girl asked as she shifted in her seat, nervously. The doctor nodded as to say 'yes' and called for her to come in.506Please respect copyright.PENANAIuljPn2g4k
Chloe sat in front of the doctor's desk. Dr.Prosser, she read the doctor's badge, Spiffy.506Please respect copyright.PENANAcHOGeATgPH
Dr.Prosser was looking through Chloe's files and notes, constantly looking up to take a look at her and he finally placed the files down, sat back in his chair and crossed his arms, peering at Chloe, studying her face. "So, what's seems to be the matter?" he asked, pushing his glasses to the bridge of his nose.506Please respect copyright.PENANAX5s9Uh4Kr2
Chloe looked down and sighed, "it's something about how I've been feeling lately. My mum was just concerned about me and sent me here to talk to you. I don't even know why she's worried. I mean , I'm perfectly fine, honestly".506Please respect copyright.PENANAPy3T2VW7kW
The doctor tilted his head to the side, "how you've been feeling? Maybe it's not fine at all" he started and then hesitated, "how are you feeling?".506Please respect copyright.PENANA8FZn4LgNVa
The girl smiled to herself and looked at the doctor, "I feel like I belong to the beach, to the sea, to the calming sound of the waves crashing on to the rocks, to the warm sand beneath my feet... I feel like I belong living on the beach, not in a town full of loud noises and discomforting surroundings".506Please respect copyright.PENANAW8xHXKEC9W
"'Living on the beach'? What do you mean by that?" he asked curiously.506Please respect copyright.PENANAGYRuDSjUEF
"I feel trapped her, I just want to live in an open space next to the beach, where the sand is right on my doorstep. "506Please respect copyright.PENANAl0TvkqROAC
"So, what you're telling me is, that you, a sixteen year old girl, wants to live alone next to the beach?" He starred right at Chloe.506Please respect copyright.PENANAT6uXPHpWXV
"Well, I'd prefer not to be alone... I'm trying to find that special someone, you see" she said, "but, all the homework and work just takes my mind away from everything.506Please respect copyright.PENANARuA8fd21dc
Dr.Prosser was writing everything down in Chloe's file and nodding with everything she said, "Do you ever feel..." he struggled with his words and tried to find the correct term. He was a Welsh doctor and his accent really came out strongly, "clausrophobic".506Please respect copyright.PENANAVaU6E2IuXy
Chloe thought about it and nodded.506Please respect copyright.PENANAgrj0gJujvc
He put his pen down and read over his notes, "Well, Chloe, what you seem to want is a free time off work or anything that's bothering you. Maybe taking a short holiday will make a change...".506Please respect copyright.PENANAHOLoQgiVOy
"No, no , no, Dr.I don't belong here. I don't need a holiday!" she argued.506Please respect copyright.PENANALvZbcRTB0H
"Listen, Chloe, I can't help you. I'll book you an appointment with a counsellor and see if they can help you with these...urges."506Please respect copyright.PENANAR9XqCHQrim
Chloe sighed, no one understands me or how I feel... "Thank you so much" she smiled and got up,shook the doctor's hand and got ready to leave. As she was about to leave the room, Dr.Prosser stopped her and said, "The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea".506Please respect copyright.PENANA1mV6oDFHXn
