                傳說，死神阿努比斯會將亡靈的心臟放上天秤，如果心臟比真理女神的羽毛重，即代表亡靈生前罪孽深重，喪失永生與轉世的資格。那些失格的亡靈會遭受懲罰，會連同心臟給惡魔阿米特吞噬——

                唯獨這個審判程序當中，總有百密一疏。

                那些僥倖未被吞噬乾淨的亡靈殘渣，日積月累形成比冥界惡魔還要混沌的「骸靈」，甚至藉憑對塵世的怨念與留戀，越過幽冥重返人間，到處散播罪惡。
