Word of the Abandoned's existence spread throughout the Earth like a wildfire. Normals began to grow anxious of the power they wielded. No one knew where they had gone after their battle with Arlo, which had affected their peace. The more time progressed, the more frightened the Normals were by the very idea of powerful beings living amongst them. The few Abandoned who dwelled amongst the Normals feared for their own lives since they grew wary of what humans might to do them and their young. Six months had passed and their questions remained unanswered, thus resulting in riots out of fear and endless searches for the beings who attacked their lands. Japan and New York were affected by the Normals' fear the most. Humans would attack others accusing them of being one of the Abandoned while the Abandoned remained in their homes to avoid the chaos. Schools began to close out of fear, hospitals took less and less people, and food began to be hoarded by the greedy and selfish. No one was safe from their own fear, which led some people to killing. The crime rate in large cities tripled over the course of those six months. This left the president no other choice but to contact Elam, a man who had extensive knowledge of the Abandoned realm as well as the multiverse.
