Autumn 1978. It was late at night and Jamie walked in such a fast pace, accompanied by the almost invisible stars. The street lamps were flickering, these night insects surrounding the dimly lit lamp annoying. Yet, he didn't mind it, he just kept on going.

This night, Laura had promised him to meet at the park. Called it joy, he was so glad that she was alright and tried to reach out to him. Although this park was in a different city, Jamie had been travelling for almost 6 hours now. Hitch-hiking for miles and miles, until he chose to walk instead when he got bored of it. Enjoying the view of the night life much, maybe.

Laura hadn't been in contact with him for so long. How was she doing ? What had she been doing these past few years ? And would she be willing to face him ?

Jamie tried to shook off any negative thoughts, he just wanted to see her again. He tried to put up a big smile along the way and thought of how he wanted to bring back her happiness.

He remembered her face, the beautiful pouty smile and golden lock hair. She had held his hand, so tight she didn't want to let go.

But time said different, her face had turned to grim as she saw the car behind him. She let go of his hand as quick as possible. Whispering something only they would know. Laura then ran towards the car, leaving Jamie alone with few tears dropped from his eyes. He could only watched.

Few cars passed by, the city was close. His hopes were high.

He could see the lights up ahead. So this was it.The city that never sleeps. Signs were everywhere, cars driving by all the time even though it was past midnight. People were still rummaging the streets. As he looked around, filth and junk were almost present in some corners. Whores, drugs, and more troubles. NevertheIess, he was familiar with the view, weren't he and them just the same anyway ?

He started walking, blending in with the crowd. This night was supposed to be cold, and yet the cars, the people, the smell, and everything just rose up the temperature.

Jamie then surveyed the area, he put out a crumpled piece of paper from his back pocket. The text were almost unreadable, he cursed, how many years has this been, he couldn't fathom how he hadn't lost it yet.
Lucky for him there was still bits and pieces he could understand. At least he was in the right city.

He wondered if she was still waiting for him.

He understood her pain more than anyone else, he really didn't want to let go but the others told him to, begging even.

On that summer afternoon 1974, she left with a piece of paper she had given him. He stared at it, an address.

"Come find me at this park, it might be my last time." Whispered her.

This is just a random snippet of my original character's story that I'd turn into comic. If anyone's interested, I'll just write the whole story.
