Lightning shocks the ground in the distance with a big boom that echos through the area as the players line up on the football field, they face each other all with looks of determination on their faces, this is their last chance to give their all and see who makes the team. Who will be benched? and who will start? Those questions ringing in each players mind. Water drips from George helmet as he stares down Jeon his wet orange curls undone by the rain and now dripping down over his eyes, Jeon looks back at him un phased, he then looks over at Taylor, he smiles and nods at Jeon, Jeon nods back and looks forward ready, he thinks back to his father "it'll be me" he thinks "I'll be the starting running back." "Down!" "Set!" "Hut!" Donald exclaims, the ball flies back into his hand and the defense take off clashing with each other in the center, Donald quickly tosses the ball back to Jeon and as soon as he catches it he takes off, George immediately takes off after him. Jeon rushes towards a defender on the other team, he moves to the left but quickly jukes right effectively faking out the player and swiftly runs past him, Jeon is met with another defender a fast one he dashes at him at quick speeds, the boy wastes no time and lunges at Jeon as he's running "your a bold one aren't you?" Jeon thinks "too bad you're too weak!" Jeon swings his hand foward as the boy comes at him mid air and slams his hand into the boys helmet stopping his forward momentum, he then pushes back hard swinging the boy back sending him slamming into the ground on his back directly in front of Jeon, he swiftly leaps over the defender on the ground in front of him and slams into the ground at the 50 yard line Coach Lamburn looks impressed. Jeon continues running down towards the 40 yard line when he's met with his final opponent, Jeon eyes turn dead focused as a small smirk rises on his face "George" he says as George runs towards him "you really think you can stop me?" He thinks, George plants both feet into the ground and holds his weight as Jeon comes in "YOU CAN TRY!" Jeon lowers his body into George and slams into him George is knocked back and sent slamming into the ground Jeon successfully trucking him and leaving him in the dirt as he runs for a touchdown. Taylor's team celebrate as Markus and another team mate rush over to help up George "I couldn't stop him" George says "don't worry about it shake it off nothing happened!" Markus says "it's our turn now, you'll get your revenge." Taylor rushes over and pushes Jeon in excitement "that's what I'm talking about!" He exclaims, Jeon and Taylor lock hands and hug "we're gonna win this thing!" he says. Taylor's team is up 7 to 14 as George's team discuss their plans "George what are we going to do without Jacob he was our fastest receiver" one of the players asks George sighs "Jacob was good and losing him will definitely hurt our chances but we still got this, we can do this without him, don't let the other team scare you, Taylor and Jeon act like tough guys but in reality they’re just like you and me, Kade you will step up and be Jacobs replacement "m-me?" Kade says Kade has a small build about 5'8 feet tall 130 pounds, freshmen, with brown wavy hair and light brown eyes, "I don't know if I can.." George slams his hand onto his shoulder "yes you can!" He says "the only person who can stop you from succeeding is you, keep your head high and give it your all you can do this Kade." George says Kade takes a deep breath and exhales "alright" he says "That's what I'm talking about!" George exclaims "alright are you guys ready to win this!" Markus exclaims "yea!" The team all cheer in unison "alright let's do this!" They all break away from their huddle and start getting into position, Markus walks up to George "you really think we can do this without Jacob?" He asks, George looks over at Markus but doesn't utter a word. Coach blows his whistle "half time!" He exclaims "you guys go and take a break, we'll resume in 15 minutes!" Taylor's team look happy and cheerful as George's team are quiet and mellowed out, the score is 35 to 7 in favor of Taylor's team, it's a blow out. Taylor, Jeon, and Donald laugh together "dude do you see who they got replacing Jacob that kid can't catch for shit!" He exclaims "I know man and that 60 yard touchdown you had over him was insane!" Donald says "yea man good throw by the way, no way your not starting QB!" Taylor exclaims, Taylor and Donald chat with each other as Jeon walks off to the side of them quiet "we've already won there's no doubt in my mind that I'm getting the starting running back spot but still...." Jeon reflects back to when he shoved Jacob out of anger "i feel empty inside, like I didn't achieve anything." "No!" "I need this, I need this more than him I need this more than everybody on this damn field, I did the right thing." Jeon suddenly thinks back to Jacob laying on the ground in pain, his angered face turns sadden "Jeon!" Taylor exclaims Jeon is quickly pulled out of his thoughts and looks up "We're winning man, don't be so happy about it" he says sarcastically "yea man what's up with you?" Donald asks "nothing, just gotta keep that mind set you know, games not over yet they could still come back." Taylor has a uninterested look on his face "seriously dude, their best receiver right now needs a ladder to grab the cereal off the top of his fridge." He says, Donald chuckles "as long as Donald keeps throwing these darts I'll moss him every time." He says "yea, yea your right we got this in the bag." Jeon says "Yea we do." He replies. George and his team sit down on the sidelines quiet, Noel sits off to the side starting off into the grey sky. George stands up and turns to his team, they all look defeated "guys we- Kade suddenly cuts George off "George it's over they've already won" "Kade it's halftime they only really win if you start to doubt yourself they're only up by four touchdowns we can still bring this back" he responds "George I already know how this is going to end, Jacob and Taylor will end up getting the wide receiver spots and I'll just end up sitting on the bench and that's if I'm even lucky enough to make the team, the only hope I had to make it was being on the winning side of this game then maybe coach would notice me but there's no way that's going to happen." George sighs at Kades negativity "I know as our captain you were trying to hype us up and make us feel better but I'm just being realistic, sorry." Markus looks over at Kade with a look of sorrow, the entire team is dead silent in agreement with Kade, George walks back over and sits down demotivated. Noel whose sitting off to the side with his head down had heard the entire conversation, he looks up then side eyes the rest of the group "fine" he says and his eyes suddenly glow purple once more.
