"Wake up Elise we have to go now." My dad whispers in my ear. I sit up not knowing what's going on. "Hurry, pack all of your stuff that fits in your two suitcases." I nod my head and get up out of my bed and put my hair into a messy bun then start gathering as many clothes and other items that will fit into my suitcases. 

I walk downstairs with my suitcases and see my mom stuffing food into grocery bags. 

I walk over to my mom and ask "Where are we going?" she stops for a moment and thinks for a good answer since she doesn't know and she says "into the wild. Elise you'll love it.”

I help her get more food into grocery bags, then I realize I need to talk to someone. I'm not sure exactly what I am going to tell her since I don't know any facts either, but I will come up with something.

I run across the street quickly and knock on the door of my best friends house. She opens the door and goes to greet me with a hug but I push her away. "Janessa, I'm sorry I have to go. I don't know where but when I find out I'll text immediately I promise." then I hugged her and we said our goodbyes and I ran back to my house. 

My dad tells me to put my bag in the car so I do. I never disobey my parents. If you disobey my parents you’re bound to get slapped, I watched it happen to my two older brothers, Bryan and Nolan, that taught me and my twin brother real fast not to be bad.

Before I even know what's happening we are on the road and I have a feeling nobody knows where we are going. There is an awkward silence so I speak up and say "Are you going to tell us what's going on?" My dad takes a deep breath before he tells us why we are leaving unexpectedly. He tells us that he got a promotion for his job and he is now head of the company.

My dad told us that we are moving to Austin, Texas. My dad said our new house will be much nicer than the one in California. My dad also said that we will be on a lake and that we’ll have a ranch and a pool and a lot of other nice stuff.

I grab my phone out of my pocket and text Janessa saying "We are moving to Austin, Texas, I hope that you can come and visit! I love you Janessa never forget it." 

I’ve been dating a boy named Andrew for 2 years, but I have a feeling I probably won’t be seeing him anymore. We are moving so far away and I’ve never been very good with long distance anything. Which means Janessa and I will probably lose our relationship.

My other siblings seem to be very excited about this but I’m not sure. 

We have been in the car for almost 2 days but my dad said we should be there soon. We have only stopped at gas stations to go to the restroom and get more food. Typical vacation.

My mom and dad have been switching off driving so we wouldn't have to stop to sleep. My younger siblings have been asleep pretty much the whole ride. Everetts and mine car are being brought down here on a huge trailer that the company is paying for, also our yacht is being brought down and we’re pulling a trailer on our excursion that has our horses.

3 hours later 

My mom says to me and my sibling "Guys we're stopping so if you need to pee now's the time this is our last stop before we get to the new house and I have a feeling you guys are going to love it." Everybody squealed and got super excited.

Chandler, Everett and I hop out of the car first then my younger siblings push down the seat so they can get out. 

Now that we are getting closer I am actually getting really excited. I'm sad that I had to leave behind my best friend and my boyfriend but I can only hope that my parents will allow them to visit, A LOT, because it sounds like we aren't ever going to see California again. 

When we got back into the car from our potty break we put on a movie, Safe Haven, which I love. My younger siblings Jensen, Andrea, Berkley, Kasey and Jarrod fell asleep again almost instantly to the movie but my punk brother Chandler is listening to his music way too loud, I hope he goes deaf.

I pulled his headphone out of his ear and yelled "Turn that down you're such a jerk I'm trying to watch a movie but I can't even hear it because of your music." he snaps back and says "Whatever bitch." my mom instantly turns around and yells "We do not say bad words especially toward our own siblings!" she was pissed and she never gets like that. Everett who was sitting to the left of Chandler looked like he was about to smack him hard. Everett and I are twins, he’s older and protective, even when siblings are being mean to me and when boys break my heart. This is going to be a long day's ride.

5 hours later 

I am still awake but I'm not watching Safe Haven it finished a long time ago, but anyway it's getting dark and it's only like 5:30 in the afternoon. We pull up to a gated in driveway, my dad types in the password then the gate opens and we drive down a VERY long driveway, to our right we first see a helipad, as we keep driving up the driveway we see a barn and basketball courts and a tennis arena. We all gasp including my mom then I ask my dad "Is that our new house?" like the weird dad he is he says "Well I don't know we'll have to see." Once we get to the top of the driveway I’m crying because it’s so amazing.
