NOTE: I won't be updating this here as I have signed an exclusive contract with Webnovel for this story. To those who are reading this, please support me there. It is in a story of the same title 'Freakquency' under my penname, NymKaneis/nKaneis.
One day, the world was suddenly tormented by a high concentration of frequency wave unheard by human ears. It was detected by radios, TVs, computers, and etc. But there are those who heard it. And those that did suffered from a mild migraine to an unbearable, head-splitting pain that was followed by vomiting of blood and uncontrollable hallucinations.
After a day of suffering, those affected became monsters.
But there were also those that became . . . something entirely else . . .
"There are so few of us left. The 'Gifted Ones' is what they used to call us. We were special."
"There's nothing special about being hunted down for something you didn't ask for."
Cory promised his parents he would protect his sister. That's easy to say when you live in a hidden tribe deep in the mountains away from all civilization. It's not so easy to do when something happens that forces you to leave the safety of your village and embark into a world unknown. A world filled with the inept, where having the Gift no longer makes you special. It makes you the hunted.
Now Cory has to learn to survive in this new world with his sister as he searches for the last of his kind - The Last of the Galia.
Hello, potential readers. Welcome to my first novel on Penana. This is a story concept I have been working on for quite some time, but I have only recently started putting the words down on a page. I am only a few chapters in, and I would love to hear your thoughts/feedback/advice!
Without further ado... please enjoy The Last of the Galia.
In a parallel world of Earth, creatures there are a bit extraordinary. For instance, humans have possession of magical abilities and while there are indeed animals living too, there also exist magical and bizarre creatures lurking about.
Febby Cortourne, a junior high school student in her fourth year, has always lived her life normally. Living in a repetitive cycle endlessly and mindlessly, which makes her life boring. There's nothing special going on at all in her life. And she never thought she was anyone special.
Until on one night, where it started like any other night and day. It was raining heavily and storms and thunders were slightly present. She begins to receive mysterious and creepy calls and messages coming from an unknown person, only to discover a mysterious and creepy old man is chasing and on a hunt to kill her.
And just as she thought she'd actually die without achieving or doing anything special, she was saved by a mysterious voice echoing in her mind and led her to a parallel world. Their parallel world. Where she finds familiar faces from her homeworld and bizarre things such as mythological animals that never existed on her planet, and people having possession of their own powers or as they'd like to call it, magical abilities.
During her time in the parallel world, adjusting with the help of her new friends, she then slowly realizes that maybe she is special after all. She just never noticed or realized it.
This unfolds a tale of a girl studying in one of the most prestigious schools in the continent where she learns about their world, magic, and something within herself as she tries to hide from the person, trying to kill her.
Updates once every week.
Due to the pandemic circulating throughout the planet, schedule updates now changes to thrice every week.
Poetry collection for Camp Nanowrimo April 2019!
If there's one thing in life that inspires me, that is the trees I see from outside my bedroom window, in the local parks and whenever I go travelling with my family. Each one having a story to tell. Some hundreds of years old. This April collection will finally open up about my discovery of trees to the world. I hope that you enjoy this collection, as much I as I enjoyed writing it!
Our nihilism blinds us to the glory
That we miss looking at what we should see
The world is filled with beautiful people
Absorb all that and just breathe.
It has been a century since the world experienced a war. After the last war, the world was left in a state of destruction that made recovery impossible. Almost-- if it aren't for the people who revealed that they have special abilities.
Year 2119, the war had started again. And Reins must run or fight for their lives.
Hello back people!!
After a lot of thought, collection, editing and corrections, I have decided to make Rhythms - a collection of my poems. It's been a long time since I have written poems and songs and I would love to continue. So this is it.
I wouldn't have done this without inspiration and support. TORN (song version) by @KeshaDEly has me warmed up and inspired inside out. Thank you.
❝Fear those who look into the fire and smile❞Calida never believed in mythical creatures. To her, they were just that: myths. Beautiful yet dangerous creatures that she read about in fantasy books. She dreams of the stories her grandmother would tell her as a child, which never quite left her after she grew out of her childhood. When she meets Lucien, she thinks of his as nothing more than a pretty blond boy with captivating amber eyes who has become her sister Thea's newest flavor of the month. That is, until Thea is killed, and Calida is abducted by him.Calida is thrusted into a world that she'd only heard of in stories. She is taken to Paradise, where she learns of Lucien's people: the mythical creatures known as phoenixes, and their Phoenix Queen, who after her first thousand years, died. However, the Queen was not reborn inside her nest. For almost a decade, the Phoenixes lived with no queen. Then, they discovered Calida. Convinced by her indisputable resemblance to the Queen, they believe that she is the Queen reborn. She is treated as royalty in Paradise, and everyting is so new and peculiar. One thing she knows for sure, however, is that she is not the real queen, and a few Phoenixes know it too. However, when a new species threatens to take over Paradise, they are even more desperate for a queen to lead them, and she must step up to the throne. Mistakes will be made, as Calida is in no way fit to rule a species. However, she must be the person she is not, play the present of a past she did not live, or find the true Phoenix Queen herself.
