Samuel Reynolds isn't depressed, he's just bitter...
Or so he keeps telling himself.
After he is diagnosed with chronic depression, Samuel's counselor forces him to attend Support Group with a ragtag collection of teenagers sporting a variety of mental heath issues. Uncomfortable and vulnerable, Samuel gravitates toward the only person in Group who seems to understand his condition at all; a girl named Quinn who claims to have no illness other than what she calls "a case of incurable apathy." As Samuel and Quinn spend more time together, he begins to realize that conquering one's weaknesses can be far harder than it first appears.
Adam Ellis is abruptly relocated across the country for the summer when his grandfather loses his battle with cancer right after Adam's junior year. When he's stuck with heat, humidity, and a well-meaning but dry set of relatives he's never met before, he's sure his break will be even more miserable than it already is. That is, until he meets the indescribable Caroline Wilder, who takes it upon herself to recruit Adam on a mission to discover how to yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else.
Irrepressible. Extraordinary. Indestructible.
Her name is Nova, like the muscle car, or a supernova, and she is a cosmic hurricane in Puck's world. She swears, drinks, lives among the stars, and he can't help but fall hopelessly in love with her. Is it love? Infatuation? Enamoration? He's not sure if he'll ever find out. He is sure, however, that the only thing that can understand one broken heart is another.

I was detained as a Deviant, a threat to society, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Solstice, our city, is an illusion of safety created by one man and an army of misguided souls. They turned me into a weapon; a powerful weapon whose only purpose is to hunt down my past. A past I had no part of; a past stained with blood and rebellion.

CHILDREN - "Children with High Intelligence Loaded into Defence and Resistance to Energy N"
Energy N is a new type of formula discovered by scientists. It has been tested on a few people by introducing it into their bodies. Practically, whoever has this energy in their DNA has a higher IQ and can materialize their feelings into a ball of energy of a certain colour. The colour depends on the body and the control that person has on his/her feelings. The brightest colour is yellow and the darkest is blue. People with non-colours, like white and black, are supposedly able to manifest their emotions in destructive ways.
There are only 3 original CHILDREN alive and 13 CHILDREN who have no idea what flows in their bodies. One man decides to bring them together and show them how special they are. That proves to be quite difficult when the 13 young adults are nothing like the previous generations.
