Three and a half thousand years ago a secret was buried in a tomb in the valley of the kings.In 1922 a tomb was discovered by the archaeologist Howard Carter. Carter emptied the tomb, his discovery of Tutankhamun instantly becoming the discovery of the century. That the tomb had more to give never crossed his mind.

In 2016 Evie Veniet embarks on a Nile cruise. Along with a rag-tag group with no archaeological experience whatsoever, they set out to push the limits of Carter's discovery, to go beyond the North wall and uncover a secret that has been hidden for thousands of years.

After a pardon from the King keeps Anne Boleyn's head firmly on her shoulders, she is exiled to the country to live no longer as Queen of England, but as the significantly less powerful, less influential and less wealthy Marquess of Pembroke.

As court life continues on without her, king Henry VIII moves on to his third, fourth, fifth and sixth wives, and Anne Boleyn deals with the effects of her almost-execution that left her suffering from trauma and turned the lives of her sister, daughter, and all those near her upside down. Determined to get Elizabeth to the throne, she hatches a plan that involves poison, intrigue and the killing of a king. She no longer has anything of value left to lose.

If you have ever visited the utter majesty that is Rome and witnessed first hand it’s beauty, it isn’t difficult at all to see how such a city could have effectively been the centre of the Ancient world for such a long time (just shy of 500 years in the West).To modern society, it seems like a different world. Full of gladiators and emperors, battles and chariot races; something we love to soak in through a Hollywood blockbuster or something we marvel at during the Summer holidays. Yet, have we ever stopped to think just how similar we are?We are so intent on seeing the differences that we ignore the similarities.
