Precepts are like mottos, which tell us rules that are important for us to live by.

So what's your motto? Which rule do you think it is the most important for us to live by? Share your motto with us! ;)

Endings are normally cliche. Especially in love stories. Sometimes its even hard to create a twisted ending.

But in this contest, I want you to write a short story that has an unexpected ending. It can be anything as long as the ending is not something the reader could guess at one look.

Keep it PG-13, guys and enjoy!

It's simple. Write an Urban-Fantasy story (no more than 3500 words). No vampires or werewolves please, unless they're enemies. (Really dislike Twilight.)

Humor is appreciated but is usually common in first person POV anyway.

If you read urban or contemporary fantasy (elements too) such as Mind Control, Iron Druid Chronicles, or Dresden then you know how the awesome stories are set in cities. Supernatural/paranormal or fantasy events occur, the main character solves the problem (whether he has abilities or not).

Must be written in first person. It's common in urban fantasies but mandatory in this contest.

Bad-ass characters are appreciated but please don't make them OP. I mean, you can if you want, I did enjoy Chris and Tanya from the Demon Accord Series but there needs to be limitations.

I will do my best to provide Feedback to each short story I read. (I'd love to be checked out in return but it's not a requirement.)

Lastly, have fun. URBAN FANTASY IS MY DIE-HARD FAVORITE GENRE EVER.

The title says it all... Tell us a story in one (ok, maybe two) sentences, without it being a runoff sentence. A story of passion, heartbreak, a pet... Anything you want! Make it something meaningful that will resonate in the mind of your reader. Take me to that desolate place in your mind. I want to feel that deep-seated pain, love, humor, tragedy, suspense, or anything else you're feeling.MUST be only 1-2 sentences long, no more. Two entries per person. Winner will be based on like count :) get out there and knock us dead!
