Mino had successfully chased Allister out of the Silver Arena, and Sasha had given me a belt with a compartment to hold my character cards in, when the latter informed me the objective of my first training session.
"Okay, we're going to see where you're power levels are at as of current, and if we just need to teach technique or focus on physical summoning power." Sasha began as I braced myself for another long explination. "However, since you do have a already large reservoir of energy already in you , that shouldn't be an issue. I want you to pick a card from the belt I gave you, and do whatever comes to mind!"
Best advice ever, not. I opened one of the belt compartments, and grabbed a card from within it. Irenea Crescent Moon. The name was in the upper left corner of the card, most of the card face being taken up by an image of the mage girl.
I stared at it in bewilderment. I have no idea what to do with this.
"Well, I don't think that's going to work...." Sasha said, biting her lip. Her gaze then went to focus on me, now lighting up. "Allow me to demonstrate! "
Without further delay, Sasha pulled out a bright purple pen, uncapping it and drawing an intricate pattern in the air. "I summon the Necromancer - Amber!"
From there, the pattern glowed, its hue turning from a light purple to a void-like black, before disappearing altogether. In its place stood a young girl with a red hood and brown hair tied in a braid, much like a character from a fairy tale. In her hands was a large black scythe, she was gripping to it like it was the very source of her life. She looked at me , unaware of who I was, and apparently that registered as enemy. The character then turned to Sasha. "You call?" Her voice was delicate, but that said nothing about the potential lethality of this girl.
"I was just trying to show Scarlet over here how to summon a character, but you could stick around - Just don't yell at the poor trainee." Sasha said, which followed with a rather unamused look from Amber and Mino attempting to hold back chuckles.
So in essence, I had to hold this card in some sort of way, do something with it, and say something to summon a character. It sounded simple enough, it was all about filling in those blanks.
I put the card I held currently back into the belt compartment, in attempt to start with a clean slate, if that even mattered.
As my fingers touched the card's surface, a chill ran down my spine. There was something special about this one, even though I hadn't seen it yet. Pulling it out, an image with a scantily dressed demon was displayed on it, and I didn't even have to look at the name to know who it was- Kait Iris Nexus.
Seeing that image, it all seemed to click. Everything I hadn't known fell into their places in my mind. I had no idea how, or why I had this knowledge all of a sudden, I just knew.
Laying the card face down on a invisible surface, I waved my hand over it, turning it face up. As the card material turned into blood red dust, I begun to mumble, before finally shouting "I summon the Demon Empress, Kait Iris Nexus!".
Then, the red dust swirled to form a figure, a 3D version of card image down to split hairs. When fully forming and touching the ground, the first thing out of my creation's mouth was-
"So you finally got wise enough to get me outta there, huh?"
How polite. I had to remember, however, that I made her that way, so I'm reaping what I sowed.
Deciding against fighting fire with fire, I kept calm amd answered the question she had 'asked'. "Indeed I did, quite an accomplishment for the first day, hmmm?"
"I'd have to say so!" Mino called out from the sidelines of the Arena, having moved from her mentor position. She had a loom of encouragement in her eyes, giving me a thumbs up from where she stood.
"Now that you've got that down , we can get to the next part. Controlling a character can be difficult -" Sasha's teaching was interrupted by the devil I had summoned.
"It's not like I'm standing right here or anything ..." Kait said, crossing her arms and scowling.
"Oh come on!" Sasha said, placing her hands on her hips and looking Kait in the eye. "You can't admit that you're difficult? You're a demon, for goodness sakes!"
"That's some big talk for a human!" Kait spat back. The conversation following was less of a conversation and more of a heated arguement.
Amber got fairly tired of the noise after a while, and I was too, but she was the one to take a course of action. "Girls! This bickering is giving me a headache and we have more IMPORTANT matters to handle." She said, gesturing to me. I waved and gave a cheeky smile, mainly because I wasn't comfortable with being the metaphorical Elephant in the room everyone had to handle.
"Don't worry, you're not causing us any trouble! " Sasha said, sensing my predicament, somehow someway. "We should be getting on with the lesson. " She then gestured over to Amber, who swung her sycthe around and slammed it into the ground, the result being mindless zombies rising from the earth. I stared at Amber and the creatures in shock.
"The main part about being a summoner is warfare. You have to use your characters as one man armies, commanding them and leading them into victory! " Mino called out from where she stood, a twinkle in her eye showcased her anticipation of what would follow.
I took a deep breath, and took the stance of a Pokemon trainer. "Kait! Er...smite them!!" I shouted whatever sounded the best in my head, but even that fell outmin execution.
"Pffft, NERD." Mino chuckled, before Sasha looked over at her with a glare, shutting the former up in almost an instant.
"Yes, mother!" Kait said, rolling her eyes before summoning an orb of dark magic and carelessly throwing it like a bowling ball, toppling all the zombies over and scattering them across the arena before they slowly turn to black dust. My demon character then did a little happy dance, if you could call it that."Strike!"
Sasha and Mino now shared the same expression I had. "Uh....that just happened. " Mino said, unaware of what to say in that situation. To break the silence, we heard a creaking at the door to the Silver Arena
"Umm, sorry to interrupt! "
A lanky girl, only a tad younger than I, shuffled into the silver arena. The sleeves of her jacket were covered in buttons. Thin rimmed glasses clung to life at the tip of her nose.
" Hmm, Grace? What are you doing here? " Sasha raised an eyebrow in confusion, the same emotion as I, but I only assumed was for different reasons.
"Well, I was coming in to see if I could watch you two mentor...I'm getting an apprentice soon and I want to make sure I do a good job!" The summoner named Grace said, adding a forced laugh towards the end.
"You can later, we're just about done here." Sasha said, looking over to Mino. "Is there anything else we need to cover?"
Mino stroked her chin, thinking for a moment, before responding. "I was under the impression that this would take a lot longer than it did, so no."
"There's your answer." Sasha said, looking over to Grace again. "You could watch tommorrow, however! " While she was talking, she fiddled with her Silver Arena remote and turned it back to its default atmosphere.
Grace had a defeated look on her face, but smiled anyways. "Alright, thank you! Is there anything you need help with, while I'm here?"
Sasha shook her head, "No, we got it!" Gesturing for me to follow, she and Mino walked out of the Silver Arena, so I had to jog to keep up. Before I left, Grace shouted out to me-
"Good luck with your training! "
She's really nice, I hope she'll be okay.. I thought, sighing as I attempted to catch up with Sasha and Mino. In this situation, it seemed that everyone was at a risk of death, and I could only hope that the innocent people would be spared. That said, I could only hope. Until I finished my training and rose to A Rank, I couldn't do anything about Meichi, and the horrible things she was doing.
When I could do something, however, I was going to make Meichi regret every action she's ever done. I'll make sure of it.398Please respect copyright.PENANA2QvGcQqAxK
