I couldn't believe what had happened before my very eyes. Mino, someone who I had known for only a day, maybe more, dead before my very eyes. I didn't know her that well, why was I getting so worked up over this? I didn't feel upset, or angered, I just felt numb.
I don't think I could even describe it as numbness, just a sheer lack of emotion. It was like I was a hollow shell of a being, with no feeling or even thought. I was merely there.
Grief is a very hard thing to explain, because it's different for every person . Some may feel sad or even depressed, or may feel nothing at all. Some people don't grieve in the first place, I wish I was one of those people, but instead I felt this numbness, or lack of emotion, as I've now put it.
"We should have never left her..." Sasha wept, burying her face in her hands to catch her tears. "We should have never let her do it in the first place...we made a mistake, Scarlet. A horrible mistake."
"Don't blame yourself for it, Sasha....It wasn't your fault..." Grace whispered, kneeling down to Sasha's side. "It was the figure's fault, not yours."
"Is it!? Is it Grace!? Do you think Mino would be alive had we not let her do this!? The answer is YES, Grace! She's gone! She's gone because I let her leave!" Sasha snapped , standing up before collapsing to the ground in tears once more. I wanted to reach out and comfort her, but I just felt like a spirit, watching the tearjerking events unfold with no chance to intervene.
"Hey is this the lab- oh my god what happened." A new voice begun to enter the room but was shortly silenced. I turned around, only to see another girl, her bright green eyes had dialated in either shock or surprise, I couldn't tell. Her mouth gaped open, though she could shout out "What in creation's name happened here!?"
"To much," Grace sighed, looking at the new face. "I know you have a tendency at being at the wrong place at the wrong time, May, but this...., is more than that."
"Oh shit...where's Mino?" the girl named May was also asking the wrong questions at the wrong time.
"We let her die...I can't believe..." Sasha wiped the final tears from her cheek, now her face was turning red with anger. "No! That's not it! It was that girl..! The doll master- Sarah! If it was the last thing I ever do, I will avenge Mino! I will!"
"Kinoko...!" May called down the hallway. "I don't know what's happening but Sasha is spewing revenge stuff I think we're minus one."
"Revenge stuff!?"
Now two new figures entered the lab, it was a tiny party now, celebrating absolutely nothing. One had brown hair and ice blue eyes, and apparently had a thing for butterflies, because she had a butterfly hair tie, a t-shirt with a butterfly on it , just, butterflies. Her hand had grabbed the wrist of the other girl, who's dark brown hair had caught a pencil in it.
"Who's dead!? Who are we killing!? WHO IS RECEIVING THE KINOKO BREW OF REVENGE!?" The Butterfly girl seemed all to giddy on the word of 'revenge' and that was slightly concerning.
"I'm gonna...let Kino here go on her tangent...I'm getting my Starbucks from the front counter it should be done..." The other girl seemed to be fumbling for an excuse to get out of the room, and once it was out, she grabbed the pencil out of her hair and ran down the hallway.
"Mino was just killed at the hands of what we think is a member of the Summoner's Circus." I stated, finally getting a chance to speak. It wasn't until after I had said it did it come to me that the new company might not know what the Summoner's Circus is.
