"I summon the Queen Archangel, Lyncana! "
"Come forth, Titania! I request your guidance! "
As if things couldn't get any worse, one of the Circus members had figured out about our plot, and had already set out to stop us. However I wasn't surprised that the person that threw the lid off our operation was Kinoko. 'Stealth' was not in her vocabulary. Bolting over to the scene of the mayhem. The two characters and summoners had already started going at it. I could barely see what was going on between the characters, they were moving so fast.
Ching! Clank! Crash!
The sound of Vanessa and Kinoko's weapons clanging against one another was at the point of earsplitting. Kinoko kept yelling things along the lines of "Where's Grace, you asshole!" and other sputters and swears of struggle.
Sasha's eyes darted as she attempted to follow the battle, her hands darting around her sides in search of her summoning pen. Kinoko was blown into a tent, Crypt's tent, specifically.
"Dammit, all the jars are knocked over!! Vanessa! " Crypt snapped, completely oblivious to the summoner that had actually knocked over her jars in impact. "Now I can't find Morgan Freeman's brain and I think Maggie's eye is - where is it?!"
Kinoko jerked up and looked around, before looking down at her chest area in confusion. 'What the hell is in my dre- OH MY GOD EWWWW EW EW EW EW-" What had fallen down her dress was the eye Crypt had mentioned. She pulled it out with the most digusted expression known to man.
Crypt then snatched it up. "Thank you for soiling that... you can continue fighting Ve now~! Good luck! Just get out of my tent please."
Kinoko was to respond before Sasha yanked her away and ran in the opposite direction. "We can't fight now! We can't lose anyone, and we need their body parts to be intact and not be taken out by the cat lady!"
"Speaking of missing body parts, can I get some sort of eyepatch when we get home?" Maggie asked, but was ignored .
Allister pulled us into a building and locked the door behind him. It was painted red, with a TV hooked up to an old game system. Various books, toys, and other things were sprawled across the dresser, and the bed in there was poorly made. Allister started babbling on about some sort of plan, but my attention was drawn to a poorly scribbled drawing put in a frame. It was three stick figures, one looked like it was supposed to resemble an angel. It was titled "My family", with the three figures labled "Me", "Allister", and "Amelia".
"Scarlet? Earth to Scarlet Evans!" Allister broke my concentration by tapping my shoulder. "This is kind of important...wait, why are you looking at that?"
I could feel my face turn red as I mentally fumbled about for an explanation. "It caught my atention and I got curious...?" As that sentence came out in a rushed stutter, I bit my tongue. That was horrible.
Allister glanced at the frame before looking back at me. "It's nothing of your concern" he muttered, his voice barely audible.
A heavy tension then set upon the room as everyone went silent. It felt like my heart gained weight. I must've intruded Allister's privacy, that was something he didn't want me to see.
"So, you want us to camp out here until the Circus starts performing, then sneak through the camp to find Grace while everyone is occupied?" Kinoko broke the silence by recapping the plan.
Allister responded to her with a nod. "Indeed. It's almost sunset, so it shouldn't take long at all for the show to begin."
"How will we know?" then asked Maggie. As she finsished her sentence the sounds of fireworks echoed through the sky. Boom! Crackle! Pop!
"That's how! Now I gotta go, wait about 10 minutes until your hear the horn. It signals the start of the show." Allister said, swinging the door open. "I gotta perform tonight, so wish me luck."
"Good, luck, NERD." Maggie said as she waved him off.
The longest ten minutes past as we sat in silence, petrified by fear. The door was locked from the inside, but, the chances that a circus member entered to grab something and found their prisoners was still very exsistent.
I counted the seconds until I finally heard the trumpets sound, and Meichi's loud voice shout "Welcome, one and all, to the Richmond Circus Marci! The most magical show on earth!"
Sasha stood up and creeped over to the door, putting her ear to it to be sure that no one was there. She pushed it open with extreme care, silencing any creaks that would have emitted from it. Then leaving the room and the house altogether, we went and searched for Grace.
Moving through tent after tent, Sasha grabbed interesting documents to read later as Kinoko sheilded her eyes in the more paticularly gory rooms. After 10 minutes we found ourselves where we began , right outside the main performance tent, where the Circus members were.
"She's not anywhere, I didn't see a single trace of her presence here..." Maggie whispered, trying to catch her breath.
Everyone soon followed with responses along the lines of "Same here", before doning expressions of hopelessness.
"Seems like...we're never going to see her again. " Kinoko said with a sigh. "Normally I'd be the last to admit this. ..but it really is hopeless. We have nothing to go off and we've searched the entire place!"
Silence. No one wanted to admit that she was right, but I bet that we were all thinking it. I was, anyways.
Then, for better or worse, Meichi's voice rang through the camp again, confirming a nightmare we never thought was possible.
"Today is a very special night, ladies and gentlemen! For we have a brand new member of the Circus, Grace Wendershelt! "265Please respect copyright.PENANAVyRHu5zGsm
