We take the elk over to the creek and place it to the side. I draw my katana and cut it open at the belly. First, I take out the internal organs and put them aside. Second, I very carefully start to skin the elk, I messed up a couple times and it has a couple of cuts but its still in one piece. Third I hang up the hide to dry and harden in the sun. Fourth I cut the elk meat into strips for easy cooking. Fifth, I wash the blood off the meat and my hands afterword’s.
