Jenny and Betty had just finished their lunch at the mall. Jenny told Betty, “give me ten minutes, I need to get something from Zara’s.”
“Again? You’ve already bought two leather boots from there this month!” Betty continued with a slightly frustrating tone, “we need to get back to the office upstairs in twenty minutes. I don’t want to be late again for our weekly team meeting.”
Jenny said, “remember that gorgeous real leather double-faced coat I told you about before? It is on final sale today.” She continued with an almost begging tone. “I’ll be quick. We will be in and out in no time, I promise.”
Before she even finished the sentence, she had already grabbed Betty’s hand and started walking — actually running — toward Zara’s.
Fifteen minutes later. They were back in the office meeting room. In fact, they were there before any other team members.
Jenny said to Betty proudly, “See? I told you we would be back on time.”
“Yea, we were lucky there was no queue at the cashier this time.” Betty quickly replied. “Sometimes I wonder where you find space to store all those stuff you’ve bought.”
Jenny answered with a sigh. “Oh yea, every time I open my wardrobe, it gives me a headache.” She continued, “would that be nice if it was like a black hole or something with unlimited space? So I don’t have to think about what to throw away, whenever I’ve bought something new.”
“Let me know when you find one, I’ll be glad to rent out some space from your magical wardrobe,” said Betty with a laugh. And Jenny responded with a smile.
Next day after lunch. Jenny saw a new antique shop opened at the mall. She went in and couldn’t move her sight away from a beautiful vintage fish bowl. The shop owner noticed. He offered a big discount and even a live goldfish for free. Jenny couldn’t resist and bought the fish bowl home.
After she put the goldfish into the fish bowl, something strange happened. All the lights in her apartment were flashing at the same time for a few seconds. Then the flashing stopped. But she noticed the goldfish’s body was starting to flash. And something even stranger happened.
“I am a semi-god trapped inside this fish’s body, can you help me?” The goldfish said.
Jenny’s first reaction was to step away from the fish bowl. Then she tried to calm herself down and asked “Wh.. Wha.. What do you need?”
“Simple. Just make a wish. Then I grant you the wish and I am free.” The goldfish continued, “but I am not powerful enough to give you unlimited wealth or eternal life. Anything less than those, I should be able to grant you.”
Jenny took a few seconds to think. “What about a wardrobe with unlimited space?” She asked doubtfully. But the goldfish responded instantly, “sure I can do that, and thank you.” The goldfish slowly disappeared.
Jenny was curious. She opened her wardrobe to take a look.
