Trees bow for the giantess along with the blades of glass on the clearing. Moonlight on her unsurprised face. She simply smiles, despite the burning itch triggering all over her body at the sight of the old man.

“How did you get out?” Ober murmurs in a gust breath. The cloaked giantess standing twice taller before him. A mist flowing to cover the roots, feet and the bloody pool—devouring massacred pale and fanged monsters. But knowing that the chain still remains around her neck, Ober remains stoic in his standing, with an expression that belittles a giant.

But then, only the giantess’s chain clicks in response. Its rustiness tearing itself apart and freeing a symbol that which the silver hawk eyed recognizes—widening in confusion. The timing could not have been better for her smile as she says, “I remember now” letting down her cloak for her bare body to show.

The scars, bruises, and mud wince the lord magister’s gaze away and towards the fallen cloak. Pointing out, “I assume that a green bird found you.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANADBKQ7r44Vj
“And a boy” She adds clapping once in excitement, “Who was extremely fond of you, just as you said during the first Mægfæge.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAi1TBeFrll7
“…” Ober stands still, his face pondering on her body. “Princess Amerie I…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAYv6X9PC3DF
“You went too far, Oby. And when I heard that you now go by Vanderhawk…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAXU7cATWn1E
Ober lowers his head and when his knees are about to drop, Amerie holds his shoulder in place,
127Please respect copyright.PENANAZHKuzym6HG
“I was sad, and thought that forgiving you seems impossible now.”
“Please…give me a chance Princess, I only did it for you—”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAKEHKse2QSy
“I did not ask you bring our memories as souvenir. I do not even know how many years have past…how the plains became a marsh surrounded by a forest. This was not here before but it is beautiful.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANARZWgG34ZeY
“I was worried that you might run off…just like you would always do…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAlX7rz7SE60
“Truly, but I never doubted you, never once Ober… What have you been up to lately?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA7Q1MDUDveF
“The Mægfæge…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANARRgXYkZrsQ
“But you do not look like you are enjoying it. What’s troubling you?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAzGpMhjXd9r
Which Ober says nothing, stating the truth in the silence. Which Amerie nods before saying, “A lot has changed since the last Mægfæge, and I do not want to miss the chance of experiencing it” Sounding expectant and hopeful.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAsoDFAgS995
“Where is Isaac?” Ober finally asks, “And that Peacock”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAXcCOQA86gz
“Right,” excitedly fluttering her eyelids, “they wanted to meet with you so they went ahead of me first. But I did not think you would be here out in the forest as well.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAqBs4j4lCCR
“So why are you here? It is dangerous here princess.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANArEsduRd5hy
“I know, but my first thought as soon as I left and heard about the Mægfæge were the Nautrens. Yes, those monsters are scary. But I never feared anything. In fact, when I was passing through those monsters, they were more scared of me. Though I do not know why. I’m not that scary, am I?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA2EPyxtU8V0
Well, Amerie looked like a giant shadow with long limbs when he first saw her, “You are at night”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAt4rKXtY9rb
“Gyaaa, why?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAj34kbNkLXW
“Let’s just go. I’ll bring you to the Mægfæge. But please put on your cloak.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAf7NBTdlhAR
“Gosh yes, I was too used being naked.” She says, putting on her cloak before turning to the great entity tree and the little fuzzball. “What about you two?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAhfMp6eytoY
“Well…” Says the tree, “We need the word of the great elder…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAzLN7XFC0bp
“I did not even know they had one.” Ober says to the princess,
127Please respect copyright.PENANAQBSzLIhEMh
“Me too, and it is going to be a really different Mægfæge without you Nautrens.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAq8vDkkLAWy
“We really do apologize, for being unable to attend your majesty” The tree bows before waving its creaky branches goodbye.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAsIAX6xdCBu
As they walk back to the Mægfæge, Amerie decides to take the chance in showing him her smiles again, “Tell me what troubles you Oby” poking the old man’s bald head.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAEZxTqF6XeP
“Princess…please not the name”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAenM8SUMCbk
“Gosh you really hate it? Sorry, but do tell what troubles you,”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAp1G01vyP9A
Ober looks over his shoulder and up at the giantess, “…You really are so kind princess…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAsMcMrN2PxJ
“And you are always rude to me. Come on, tell this uneducated princess what she wants to know.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAfv257ajrGu
“I could not bring back the Immortal Amaranth…” He says, “That’s all”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAaK4DMKXMOi
“That’s all!? Oh, come on, I know you still know more…But fine, you cannot bring back the Immortal Amaranth…why would you even want to bring it back?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA5AdLMWJ2jy
“Why? Because the days were much peaceful. There was order and your father was the perfect ruler.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA3cKT7eocsR
“…That sounds much better than I thought it did.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANARKH8p7KCnX
“What do you mean princess?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAjex0d2cdhV
“The Immortal Amaranth…” She ponders, “With how much has changed, I think it should not come back. Ever”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAuly6Q1ocMh
“I do not understand Princess…surely you too forgot the glorious days of Kinguin—”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAHWzP1n6uaR
“I do understand and I surely did not forget about past Kinguin, but that is not the Immortal Amaranth. To bring it back means to make it mortal again, you were with us during the final prayers, right? The Amaranth will forever be eternal in the blood of the cursed immortals. You would be merely starting an entirely different story from what you are asking for.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAU46dBDBXaB
“…so, I misunderstood? No…I did not” Ober says, “I wanted to bring back the power to you Princess, so that Kinguin can have peace again.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAvNZbTZyBmJ
“You’re sounding a bit delusional Ober”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA3whxzXpgjZ
“Do I? Haha No, I did not! I stated that the Mægfæge will be done in order to place the princesses on power. That they would remember this festival and eventually remember you! The Noirs.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAqEvbKvxDyP
Amerie steps forward before yanking off the ruby heard from Ober’s silver necklace beads, “Let go”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAonYZuvQJGc
“That…” Tapping and feeling for it but the ruby heard is in Amerie’s fist, “Give that back! That does not belong to you.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAh2tVPIjxAf
“But I gave it to her and she gave it to you. Yet, she died. And I heard that it was because of you.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAwddwKMrXBF
Ober chokes on his breath, “Princess, I was talking about something else.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAFK8TluuKdD
“That…well, yes, but it is a delusional solution and I nor my brothers or sisters would probably never ask for that power.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAp8uEG5um0u
“It is all for you, for the immortal amaranth”
127Please respect copyright.PENANALFkpNO4s1Q
“But the Mægfæge, is not for the Immortal Amaranth. Freolić Fæsttivitas would have been fitting or you could create a festival of your own. And I know you can~”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAMJ5mgztShl
Both arrive at the bountiful celebration of Mægfæge. The moon shining down on the lone campfire with the drizzle and snow sparkling the mud. “That’s right” Ober says, turning to the princess, “I will go ahead and make further preparations Princess. Please do enjoy this year’s Mægfæge.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAnAYZntC8Cm
“What!? Where are you going? What about Isaac?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA9s7qI7sUsH
But Ober run off towards Fogsight fort, leaving Amerie to wander around the festival streets and stalls of the present high princesses. “Cute” she says to a plushie before asking if she can have it. Which the stall owner asks if she has High Princess Giza’s ticket. Which she replies, “I don’t…”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA8QF1FyVC7S
“Then scram, get yourself a ticket first before playing the princess stalls.”
Which she does so, but the princess has no stralls to pay. Until she found Isaac by the great campfire and asks the boy if he has any stralls.
127Please respect copyright.PENANA4eAQ6F6ZFZ
“Goodness,” Peacock says, “A princess asking for money is a first for me”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAiGB1A1knFo
“Princess Amerie…Ober…I mean have you seen an old man who is bald with purple robes?” Dazingly asking, as if enthralled by the flame
127Please respect copyright.PENANAP12jpUkr1p
“I did” Amerie honestly answers, but he said he has to prepare for something and went on to the fort.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAEHcDAPBBIl
“I told you he is still busy” Peacock says, slapping the boy awake with his feathers, “Come on, let’s just go back to the capital and find Ghibli and that nurse Heshape so that you can rest.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANADCBCaDfEhX
“Ughh, will they even let us in?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAR72q2cPzaV
“The guards?” Peacock turns to Amerie, “Maybe she can?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAK0YjlGYWAr
“Me!? What? Convince people? I CAN’T! I don’t know how to talk to one even!” She argues, “how about we go to the fort where Ober head to, maybe we can ask there.
127Please respect copyright.PENANASVHS3yP3Gh
Which Isaac gasps in realization, “Right! Princess Sol allows into her place as long as we get listed.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAcvJJ75ytvo
“Under what?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAKeYZWy0yjE
“I do not know, but I saw that she lists people and they simply get in.”
127Please respect copyright.PENANA4lRMWMVFOE
“That sounds like a surefire way to disaster” Peacock says, “What if she lets in monsters?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAcvb9MzEXNH
“Would a princess even do that? Come on, let us go! I want a bed!”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAdoaf7aNw8i
And so the trio walk to the fort and line up together with the slaves and criminals, finding themselves immediately next in line when they are seen as eager to enter. “What did you sin?” The gatekeeper asks a lady but she drags out enough time for five unique looking individuals with a silver strand of their hair, telling the guard that they will be patrolling around the festival venue in case of monsters. Then before they leave, their leader—Tywin grabs a hold of the lady’s head and crushes it, saying that she was a vampire thrall. “And possibly many more around”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAhsLPNxGbGT
“Do we have to check this entire line too?” Zera asks, and Tywin affirms
127Please respect copyright.PENANA0rmylXPU5d
The next in line---Amerie, immediately gets a hard stare which she stares back at them. Before being passed by. Dori mentioning why a peacock is standing in line which Isaac says that Peacock Is his pet. Then Hubert comes up near to Isaac, inspecting the boy closely. Which Hubert simply wanted to do a staring contest.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAmKcBjvVZZq
“What did you sin?” Asks the gatekeeper which Amerie replies,
127Please respect copyright.PENANArCcdKY3haE
“Being uneducated…” like how slaves would answer.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAYntS7cXsi5
“Next” The gatekeeper says, gesturing for Amerie to walk in, “What did you sin?”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAMF4eLOYhys
“Stealing this Peacock” Isaac says, carrying Peacock who “COCKS!” affirmingly in his arm.
127Please respect copyright.PENANAeV1mlhfZ8n
“Okay…” the gatekeeper turns to the one-eyed owl who does not open its eyes, “Next”
127Please respect copyright.PENANAmUD0lNObq2
Isaac enters along with Peacock and immediately see a volkin running around and chasing the criminals and slaves. The trio sneakily walk the other way and into the fort. They somehow manage to pass by a few guards until they see a lady with orange hair running. Half her skin is pale with a red eye that is fully awake. They did not get to see her face clearly but she was clearly a crazy lady. They continue walking down the fort hallways then underground where they think is safe. Until, they see a girl on the ground, her hair has a strand of silver with her entire body dried and blood sucked which Peacock points at the vampire bite on her neck. The trio panics and wonders what they are going to do feeling that the girl’s skin is cold and clearly dead. And they hear guards coming, so they quickly hide into a prison cell cabinet. Peacock can manage to shrink himself so he does so after locking Amerie’s and Isaac’s cabinet. The bird hides in a crevice, making sure that he can have an entire view of the entire crime scene along with the cabinets.
