”wow, she really knocked you out,” grinned Richard. “That or you really needed the sleep.”
Camron rubbed his eyes and sat up. Everyone was in their tactical gear with their weapons present on their belts or in holsters.
Richard tossed him a bundle of black tactical clothes and grinned. “Gear up, its time we finished this.”
Camron went into the back room and changed. He put his pistol on his belt with the dozen or so spare mags that Richard had “liberated” from somewhere in pouches on his belt within easy reach.
he went back into the main room and found that Daniel had joined the others. A shield sling over his shoulder and his combat Gladius on his belt. He was wearing tactical pants and shirt with armoured half finger gloves on his hands.
”I wouldn’t miss this party for the world,” said Daniel as Camron looked at him. “Now let’s get going.”
everyone joined hands and Richard closed his eyes. Camron kept his open as the cabin disappeared around them into blackness. He had a sensation as if his body was being ripped apart and thrown somewhere at the same time. He knew better than to let go. If he did he would be lost in the black ether of wherever it was they were.
suddenly it was over. They were behind a low mound which hid them from sight of the military cordon Camron could hear ahead of them.
”I couldn’t teleport us right into the plant because we might have materialized inside a wall or the reactor itself,” explained Richard. “We May have to fight our way in.”
Camron peered over the mound. A few hundred meters away was a line of tanks and other military equipment. Tents and a few other structures dotted the landscape for a hundred feet or so before the line.
richard pulled out a pair of binoculars and put them to his eyes. “I see at least two hundred military personnel,” he reported. “Plus tanks artillery and roadblocks.
”how do we get in?” Asked Nick.
“I can get us to the door,” said Richard slowly. “The problem is if they see us.”
suddenly there was a whistling sound and almost before camron could wonder what it was daniel had moved in a blur. Deflecting an arrow with his shield.
camron turned and fifty feet behind them was a was a girl with auburn hair holding a bow that looked like a steampunk freak had made it.
”get going!” Yelled Daniel as he blocked another arrow, parsec on his shoulder chittering away. “I’ll hold her off!”
he next thing camron knew was that someone had grabbed his shoulder and the world faded into black again.
