Note from Aveline: When we are born different we have different abilities. From my very first steps, I had let out mage traits that no longer existed. Basic things and even advanced magic was just a game for me. Alas, exceptional beings also have exceptional illnesses. Four years without anything and when I woke up, nothing more, no more magic, I was no longer Aveline, I was the one who was about to receive the jealousy and resentment that others had against me in the face.
A huge explosion early in the morning pulled Aveline out of her sleep. She woke up suddenly, almost falling over to the other side of the bed. Aveline stepped forward and opened her bedroom window. Her long brown hair floats with the passing of the morning wind: "the good smell of the morning!" She hurried to dress in her court dress, a long black dress and put on a white t-shirt. Her legs made her suffer, they kept shaking. Aveline dropped on the bed:
__It's all over for me, I can no longer be Aveline!
Aveline let herself be carried away by memories of her past, precisely her first year as a Sick. She still remembers the pots of Petréî floating in the space of her room, her sweet smell which helped her to escape. She also remembered the changing painting of the room, sometimes the walls were changed into a forest of roses, sometimes into wild life. Aveline had a lot of memories, but what they remembered most were the healing spells that were administered to her every day for a year. Just thinking about it, she was in pain. The young green-eyed woman wiped the few tears that had just escaped from her cheek. She clapped her cheek with both hands:
__Another day of court begins.
Aveline cocked her mage staff. As soon as she touched a vague memory transported her again: She thought back to her four years earlier, the successes she had met with this stick. The time when she and magic were one. Just thinking about it, his body is filled with lightning energy. She opened the door and went out with a radiant face while whistling as she crossed the corridor:
__So like that, the top one has become the top zero! let a voice be heard behind her.
__I was told that the fall was fast, but I think yours was instantaneous, added another voice.
Aveline turned around and discovered a trio including a young man and two women. From their outfits Aveline deduces who they were: White coat of arms, snake with two heads placed on the shoulder pads. These were the Bryliane; a group of mages she had beaten alone five years earlier. Aveline felt the danger coming so she started the dialogue to avoid a confrontation. She will strongly be his mage staff:
__Stop we know you can't just cast a spell on us!
__You just became like us five years ago! No, I forgot, you have become a thousand times useless than us. We are going to make you suffer Ave, We are going to make you taste the fact of being beaten flat.
Seeing lightning coming around this trio, Aveline started a race. Before she even took ten steps, she felt frozen. One of the mages used his spell to immobilize him. The other two stood on either side of it, reciting spells and spawning two whips each.
__Hey! Bryliane, it's not too late. Doing it to me won't do you any good. Said them Aveline.
__I know, but it will help us forget what you did to us five years ago.
Aveline didn't have time to speak again when a whiplash fell on her back. She wanted to scream but one of the mages silenced her voice. The whips fell more and more, only tears escaped from his eyes. She screamed, she was suffocating from the inside.
Aveline watched her executioners, she kept moving after each lash, she who had always been friendly with everyone was now being treacherous for those she loved. From his back came large drops of blood. Frightened by the state in which he had put her, the executioners released her and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Lying in her own blood, walking on the path of fainting Aveline watched them disappear:
__I will never forgive you! she breathed before fainting.
