The North was a land of permanent winter where snow barely died down during the day.
Footprints were left on the thick white snow as two teenagers, one with an injured shoulder, walked by.
“Hey, it’s been a month. Why haven’t you recovered?” one of them spoke up. “I’m still waiting to fight you.”
The injured teen ignored him, continuing to walk with a poker face. He was wearing a bright red robe embroidered with eye-catching purple flowers.
They were none other than Yeung Tin Hun and Man Yee Ho. After days of hurrying through the mountains, they finally left the Snowdrift Mountain Range and arrived at a tribe.
The North had a complicated topography and a terrible climate. It was also heaven for wild beasts. This was vastly different from the South, where cities and villages were planned before construction. Tribes were randomly sprawled throughout the North, and there was no accurate map with records about them due to the constant warring of small and medium-sized tribes. It wasn’t surprising to wake up and discover that a tribe had been eliminated overnight. This was why long-lasting tribes deserved to have their names recorded, and in front of the duo was one of them, the Heaven Sacrifice Tribe.
It was a tribe famous for producing gliphists at a rate beyond most Northern tribes. In the world of gliphism, power rested in those who could use gliphs—both gliphers and gliphists. And to become a glipher, one first needed a gliphist.
Therefore, many lone gliphers chose to join this tribe, slowly growing it to its current size. In Southern standard, they were equivalent to a powerful clan.

“The Heaven Sacrifice Tribe?”
The duo stared at the brightly lit tribe. The number of lights in the tribe dispelled the night’s darkness.
However, both the spoiled little prince of the Four Season Heaven and Man Chin Hung’s disciple, who lived in seclusion his entire life, knew nothing about worldly affairs. They could identify the tribe, but they knew nothing about it.
“Let’s go in,” Man Yee Ho said calmly as he made his way towards it.
“Duh. Or shall we freeze to death out here?” Yeung Tin Hun sneered, following behind him. This frosty kid reminds me so much of him.
In no time, they arrived at the tribe’s entrance where two statues stood. On the left was a teenager with his head low and hands clapped together as if praying, while the other was a teenager with a spear in his hands. His mouth was wide open, shouting silently and pointing his spear forward as if he was attacking.
A few men in white robes greeted them. “Welcome to the Heaven Sacrifice Tribe.”

It was a weird experience for both of them.
The duo spotted portraits around the tribe that bore similar appearance to the statues, and the tribe members who wore plain white robes constantly mumbled to the drawings passionately. This left Yeung Tin Hun and Man Yee Ho confused.
“What kind of weird place have we entered?” Yeung Hun Tin whispered to Man Yee Ho, who wasn’t as bothered by it.
“It’s fine. We’re only going to be here one night.”
Differentiating outsiders and tribe members was easy. The tribesmen were dressed weirdly, covered in white from head to toe, while outsiders dressed as they pleased. A large tribe like this was not too different from a Southern city.
For a tribe to prosper, trade was crucial. Northern cultivators used gliphic beasts as ingredients for gliphs, food, gliph weapons and more. It was distinctly different from the Southern Plantae method.
Many businessmen travelled through the North to trade with various tribes for profit. Therefore, there was always room for travellers. What was known as inns in the South were guest tents in the North. As their name implied, they were set up for guests.
Both of them asked for directions to the guest tent district. Finally, they arrived at a place sectioned out with many tents. Tribe members collected fees from guests who entered. As they approached , a group of five tribesmen walked out of a tent, with a teenager dressed in gold leading the way.
He was a handsome teen with fox-like eyes that turned into crescents when he smiled gently. When he saw the duo, he was pleasantly surprised by their good looks.
What good-looking fellas!
Yeung Tin Hun bore the perfect combination of his mother’s sweet features and his father’s manly disposition. Despite only being thirteen, he was a charming young man, and the silver Four Season Robe endowed an unyielding atmosphere on him.
On the other hand, Man Yee Ho wasn’t super stunning, but he was easy to look at. Carrying his determination from his past life, he looked like a metal carving. His bright red robe that contrasted his ice-cold expression made him stand out.
The teenager licked his lips at the sight of them and whispered to his subordinates who approached them, “Our tribe’s Holy Son would like to invite the both of you to join him.”
“Huh?” Man Yee Ho frowned curiously while Yeung Tin Hun turned to him subconsciously. The other party flashed them a smile laden with hidden intent.
Did he recognise me as the young master of Four Season Heaven? This makes no sense. My name may be famous, but I’ve never left home before. Nobody should know what I look like.
As Yeung Tin Hun was in deep thought, Man Yee Ho rejected the offer. “I’m sorry, but the both of us are occupied. We shall be taking our leave now.”
“This is the Heaven Sacrifice Tribe. You may not be able to leave as you wish.” The man in white smiled.
Man Yee Ho ignored him and took a step away expressionlessly.
With a smile, the man in white attacked Man Yee Ho. No one knew when a sword appeared in his hands and was reaching towards Man Yee Ho’s thighs. The teen in gold watched with a smile, though he was unable to understand why Yeung Tin Hun made no move even when his companion got attacked.
Yeung Tin Hun frowned, but no because he was worried. He had fought Man Yee Ho before and knew very well where they stood. Only a three-chambered or ten-gliphic cultivator could endanger them. Rather, he frowned at how viciously precise the other party’s strike was.
The swift attack was targeting a weak point along the thigh. It would greatly affect Man Yee Ho’s ability to move if he was injured there; the other party seemed intent on forcing them to stay.
Even so, Man Yee Ho remained calm. He’s quick, but he didn’t use his energliph. He must be afraid of injuring us too severely.
As his mind raced, Man Yee Ho moved subconsciously to repel the two-chambered glipher’s attack. He casually reached out with his right palm, passed by the sword with ease, and clung onto the attacker’s wrist.
The glipher was taken aback by this unexpected scene; Man Yee Ho moved too quickly for him to react. The next second, Man Yee Ho had already grabbed the blade with his fingers, and with a quick turn, the glipher was thrown to the ground.
Man Yee Ho randomly tossed the sword into the sky and walked off.
The weapon landed with a thud between the legs of the glipher currently sprawled on the ground. Outsiders who were watching clapped and cheered for Man Yee Ho while those in white showed a slight change of emotions.
The golden-robed young man seemed unaffected. With a smile, he turned to his subordinates and ordered before leaving, “Grab both of them and send them to my tent.”
Many tribesmen surrounded the duo as they mumbled to themselves while the teenager left without another look. All he needed to do was wait for them at his tent.
While the teenagers appeared exceptional, they weren’t so worthy of his attention to bother him. They were in the Heaven Sacrifice tribe—his home—after all.

South Imperial City.
While the furious Lam Chun was shouting at officials during his morning meeting, Chui Yim received a notice from the Chor Clan. Since he was having a day off from the Cloud Palace outer sect, he left for the Chor Clan immediately.
Kam Chin Kee wasn’t too interested and chose to stay home instead.
When Chui Yim arrived, he was greeted by a ransacked Chor Clan. There were holes and cracks everywhere, from the doors to the walls. What was weird was that there wasn’t any debris to be seen. The damage must have been caused by a powerful energliph that could shred whatever it struck.
A tragic atmosphere shrouded the entire Chor Clan. All the disciples were tired with bloodshot eyes, but they were still as determined and focused as ever. Their killing intent was so blatant that they could seemingly lunge at anyone who crossed them.
What happened here?
Chui Yim reached the back courtyard where most Chor Clan disciples resided and found a pale Chor Shing Chit. Despite his poor complexion, he was still ordering the disciples to work.
Chui Yim went over and grabbed Chor Shing Chit’s wrist, feeling his pulse.
“Do you want to die young?” Chui Yim’s face changed.
“Is the Young Master alright?” The Chor Clan disciple at his side jumped up in shock after hearing him.
Chui Yim didn’t answer as he patted his jade to retrieve an elixir. “Eat this.”
Chor Shing Chit turned to him. He didn’t ask as he tossed the elixir into his mouth. “You should look at Chor Chong Hoi first. His injuries are worse.”
“You think you’re any better? You’ve been poisoned!” Chui Yim sneered.
This reminded Chor Shing Chit of the giant snake gliphility he saw that day. “Poison?”
“You’re very lucky; the Chor Clan’s Ink’s Will is a righteous gliphility that comes with strong vitality, which is why it is suppressing the poison. But this is similar to the pure death energy we experienced with the crazy granny in Southern Ping. The opponent’s death energy entered your body as a liquid without you knowing. Who the hell did you fight?” Chui Yim couldn’t help but be reminded of the Yellow Spring Lady.
“Look at Chor Chong Hoi first. I’ll explain as you do,” Chor Shing Chit said after a long pause.
“Stop worrying about others. I’m not that great of an alchemist, and that can only last you about three hours. If I don’t treat you with my needles before that, you’ll stay injured forever.” Chui Yim frowned as he walked towards Chor Chong Hoi’s room.
