He hears a scream and looks to his right, feeling someone collide with him from nowhere.245Please respect copyright.PENANAJ0LCAWyO34
There is a flash of green and he feels himself hit the floor hard, but it's cushioned which is odd as the floor of the main corridor of the special op's building is tile.
He opens his eyes to see his in his bedroom and lying on his bed and she's lying on-top of him, green clock in hand and heavily bruised, and her blonde hair not in a plaited ponytail like it should be. It's down and messy, making her look alot like Kaylee B, but she's not her.
"V?" He whispers and V slowly wakes up, climbing off of him. He helps her sit up and she looks frightened.
"What did she do?"
"S-she's m-me. W-what's happening, Elliot? I-I'm scared! I remember everything. We died, alot of us and then we ended up back at the beginning.
You saved Kade after I kidnapped him and the police department sent me to psych, but I never made it there. She- I?
A version of me was in the car and she drove us into space? What looked like it anyway and took my place, pretending to be me. She hurt me."
"It's okay, I'm here now. I'm not going to let her hurt you, I sware. You remember everything?"
"Well, I didn't at the time. I regained what you erased after she kidnapped me. Elliot, us being ghosts was weird.
I still can't wrap my head around that...245Please respect copyright.PENANAIxJUUO98aL

Time travel in a way feels like it makes more sense."
"Well, you are a doctor."
"And maybe I don't want to be now. Maybe I should take up paintbrushes and do art instead."
"Sounds better than being a doctor, and a kidnapping, murderous sociopath."
"Listen to me, I'm not pure evil I swear."
"Hey, I know that. Okay? You had a painful past and it shaped you and you never got the mental health care you needed."
"So, where are we?" She asks. "Uh, my bedroom in mine, Maxis and Kiera's apartment on base." He says and then it hits him.
"No, no, no!" He panics, scrambling for his phone on the bedside table to check the time and date.
"Shit. April 6th, Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.
Kaylee, we're right back where this all started again almost. It's pretty much evening before I went on a mission the next day to infiltrate a group set up illegally which is what set off me running into you in town where you had kidnapped Kade."
"O-okay. So how does this work? Where is you?"
"I must have crashed into myself, he, I mean I would have been resting on the bed likely, I don't really remember so I must have taken my own place. And you?
Are either asleep or at work and already have secured Kade in your van."
"So, I need to take my own place when I can?"
"Uh, probably. Probably a good idea, we can head out there, but... We're on base for the special op's department I work for. Me sneaking myself and you out won't be easy.
Wait, you still have the clock, yes?" He asks and she hands it to him. "Good, good." He says, opening up a safe in his cupboard. "It's not they most secure as Ring broke in here and kidnapped Kiera, but it will do for now I guess..." He trails off, worried.
Then he realizes, he hasn't vomited or coughed. Is his Hanahaki cured once and for all? Is he going to be, okay?
"Elliot?" She speaks.
"Uh, nothing. So, can you stay for here for now? Hide in my cupboard, I'll go tell Maxis I don't feel well. Headache and all that, I'll play coming down with something... and get out of the mission and then find a way to sneak both of us off base."
"Okay..." She says when he hears noise outside his door and a knock.
"Elliot, are you awake? Are you talking to someone in there?"
"It's Maxis!" Elliot whispers, confused why he has come upstairs instead of Kiera, gesturing for V to hide in the cupboard and she shakes her head, refusing suddenly and makes for the window.
"That will do too." He says, seeing her open the window and climb out onto the ledge just out of view and Elliot composes himself, opening his door.
"Evening, Maxis!"
"Evening. You, okay? Kiera and me we're going to pop on a movie and a bag of popcorn, but I heard a crash in here and what sounded like you talking."
"Uh, I think I knocked something off my bedside? I laid down for just a second, I don't remember dozing off.
Actually, I feel hot and my stomach and throat hurts. I didn't feel that way earlier."
Maxis places his hand against Elliot's forehead. "You don't feel it, but fevers can creep up quick. Why don't you go back to bed and I'll fetch a thermometer for you from my room?
We have work tomorrow in general so if you still don't feel great, you can cancel."
"Okay."
And Maxis leaves, gently pulling the door closed behind him when Elliot sprints, making a beeline for the window to check if V is okay.
His eyes widen when he looks outside and sees a shaking V clinging to the wall and he pulls her back inside to both their worry, looking down to see Allie below on the street, awake and dressed, on a evening walk and chatter below somewhere and Vincent walks up to Allie, having come from the direction of Elliot's front door.
Kiera is following him. Her room is closest to the front of the apartment.
Vincent's knocking must have drawn her attention. Maxis didn't hear as he was further away, talking to Elliot and headed back to his room. Both their rooms are on the top floor, up the stairs while Kiera occupies a room on ground level, close to the kitchen and lounge room.
"Elliot." V says. "That's my baby girl."
"Yeah, that's your daughter. Um, we're in deep trouble, Kaylee." He says, seeing an angry Kiera tapping her foot, arms folded and Allie doing the same while Vincent has his back to them, on the walkie talkie, radioing this in.
---
V and Elliot gulp as they're forced to sit down in-front of General Peterson in his office by Allie and Vincent. Maxis stands further back with Kiera who's clinging to him.
"What is the meaning of this, Elliot? And who is this woman?
You, what's your name? And how did you get onto our base. Do you know you are, who we are?"
Elliot wants so desperately to speak, but nothing comes out. He doesn't know how to even begin explaining this and just looks to V for guidance.
"I'm... Kaylee." She speaks.
"Last name?" General Peterson responds.
"V-Vaughn."
"And do you do for a living, Kaylee?"
"I'm a doctor at a small hospital."
Then it hits Elliot. There is still a version of what is Kaylee running around, no doubt she has already kidnapped Kade, Kiera's younger brother.
They need to get out of here, Kaylee needs to take her place in this world.
They can't let Kaylee's evil self-keep running around. It will lead to many bad things.
"And why are you on our military base, Kaylee?"
"You don't recognize me, do you?"
"Should I recognise you?"
"I was your classmate at your university. Short, quiet girl in the back row. Go check your yearbook if you don't believe me."
Them the General's eyes seem to widen slightly. "You're right, I do know you.
Which only makes your presence on my base even weirder. How did you breach our security, Kaylee? Why are you here?"
She looks to Elliot, not even knowing what to say.
"Did he invite you here? Elliot, do you want to speak up and offer some words?"
Elliot is still silent, just looking back at V. "Okay, fine. Neither of you want to speak? You can take some time out in timeout to think about both your stories.
In the meantime, I'm going to make some phone calls. Allie, Vincent. Remove them from my office."
And he waves them out, Allie cuffing V's hands behind her back, pulling her to stand despite the obvious height difference and Vincent pulls Elliot to his feet too, cuffing him.
They're escorted to plexi glass holding cells, a separate booth for each of them.
"Kaylee, was it?" Allie speaks up as V tries to be as small as possible towards the back of her cell, arms pulled up to her chest. Allie waves Vincent over.
"What?" He speaks.
"Look at her neck and extremities. Bruises, like she was shackled or something. Not to mention, she's wearing scrubs."
"Kaylee, do you want us to get you a change of clothes?" Vincent speaks up.
She nods her head softly, not responding with words.
"Okay. Did someone hurt you? Just curious."
"Please leave me alone."
"Vince, she wants you to leave her alone." Elliot calls out.
"Elliot, shut it." Vincent snaps, walking away and Allie closes the door to V's cell, leaving too.
The lights dim slightly and V is shaking, rocking back and forth, traumatized. Elliot's heart breaks, he can't imagine what she went through at the hands of herself, an alternate version of her.
It seems Kaylee B- Kaylee Beckett who works for Ring's spin-off group in another alternate universe might be more genuinely evil and sadistic while Kaylee V is just... sick.
She never really meant to hurt anyone even though she did a-lot of bad. He doesn't know her past, but people are rarely born evil.
He knows, he was a juvenile delinquent. His growing up boiled down to a deprived childhood, he did things he wasn't proud of just so he could have some clothes, a roof over his head, food in his belly and he wanted some attention, affection.
Even if it was negative.
"Kaylee." He whispers. She doesn't respond.
"We're going to get out of here, I promise. I'll get us out of here, we have to escape. 'You' are still running around out there; you need to take your place.
Otherwise, two of you in this world will be problematic."
"......"
And then she enters the room, holding some folded-up clothes for Kaylee.
"Kiera." Elliot says. She stops dead and turns to look at him. While she appears calm, no doubt there are 100 thoughts running through her mind, he knows what she's like.
She just doesn't really show it on the outside, ever. She briefly unlocks Kaylee's cell and places the clothes inside, stepping back, locking it again.
Kaylee doesn't move to grab the clothes. 245Please respect copyright.PENANAQnBP06B3MS

Elliot hops down from his bench and places his hands against the plexi-glass.
"Kiera." He says louder, more forcefully.
"What?" She finally responds.
"You need to let us out."
"Are you insane? Why would I do that? You're in trouble for a reason, and none of know this woman. Well, you do. But you won't tell."
"And what if we knew you secret(s)?" Kaylee speaks up.
"I'm sorry?" Kiera responds, emotionally distant and voice now flat again.
"I said, what if we know your secrets. You help us out, scratch our backs, in turn, we'll keep our mouths shut." V speaks up, smirking slyly slightly.
Elliot shivers, worried. That's manipulative... Hopefully, she won't act out too much, desiring to hurt others.
"What could you possibly know about me? I haven't got any secrets."
"Canada."
And Kiera's eyes widen, her mouth slightly agape.
"Yeah, your General doesn't know yet, or your friends for that matter of fact."
"And if I help you escape, I could be arrested too, Kaylee Vaughn. I have nowhere else to go, I want to stay here.
I'll be in immigration custody then till I die of all old age. Please, what I have now is better." She whispers, tears in her eyes.
"Kiera, we won't say anything. You're my friend, we're not going to do anything that would result in ruining your life." Elliot responds.
"Yeah, well, it doesn't feel like it right now. Who the hell even is this woman really, Elliot? Did you sneak her in?"
"Not exactly."
"Tell me how she got into this base, and I'll consider helping you escape, but not the whole way."
"....."
"Then have it your way." And Kiera turns to leave.
"Nadine May assisted in kidnapping you, she was there that day. You just didn't know it as she was gloved and masked up.
You left work from the pizza store you worked at and two cars pulled up, blocking any way you had of escape.
They drugged and zip-tied you. When you regained consciousness, that was it.
You we're already imprisoned and no one looked for you, that was a long hell filled year or so, wasn't it?" Kaylee says.
Kiera looks terrified, and her hand slowly reaches for a button on a control pad behind it. Slowly pressing it, the door to all their cells slides open, the locks disengaging.
"I know who you are, but don't come back. And Elliot, we're done. Don't ever talk to me again." Kiera says.
"Come on, let's go. We only get one shot at this." Kaylee says, changing into the clothing. Elliot tries to give Kiera a hug, but she pushes him away.
"I'm sorry." He says, tears in his eyes.
"Die." She responds, looking angry, but crying and sinks to the floor, sobbing into her hands as Kaylee and Elliot escape the Security office and Holding cells.
Elliot quickly leads V out a side door, a fire one. It's no doubt triggered a silent alarm. "We only get one shot at this, V so when I say run, you need to run and don't stop or look back.
Everyone is armed here, there are watch towers. We'll be getting out the same way, Kiera got in.
Although, she didn't make it the full way..."
They start sprinting to the fence, it's high, but climbable. As they climb over, a gunshot rings out and then an alarm.
Kaylee screams in pain, feeling a bullet lodge in her shoulder. She topples over the top of the fence, hitting the ground hard on the other-side.
Elliot jumps down flawlessly after him, seeing she is out cold, head bleeding.
There is the sound of vehicles approaching the fence, dogs barking.
He has no choice but to heave Kaylee onto his shoulders and run. She's not too heavy though, his trained for years, carried plenty of packs that way the same weight as her.
They're lucky they got away.
---
Kiera is curled up on the floor of the office, having a panic attack and is found by her friends.
"Kiera!" Maxis cries, running up to her and gently rolls her over to look at him. Allie and Vicent follow.
"They escaped? How?" Vincent exclaims.
"I'm sorry." Kiera chokes out. Allie looks at the control panel. "Did you do this? Why, Kiera? This so unlike you to do such a thing."
"Shut up! You don't even know me! You may think you do, but you don't!" Kiera yells back at her.
"Then tell us, what do we need to know about you? Do you know that woman, Elliot was with?" Vincent starts.
"I've never seen her in my life, but she knows stuff about me. Deep, personal stuff. I wanted to forget any of it ever happened.
I was happy before, working the register and was going to learn how to toss a pizza any day. And they took that from me."
The three friends look to each-other and back to Kiera. "Kiera, lying won't help you. Just tell the truth, it's okay. You're not in trouble.
When you first showed up here, it was obvious someone had hurt you. You we're dehydrated." Maxis urges.
"I'm not even a U.S citizen, Maxis. I crossed some border at some point, I don't know where. No one is looking for me, no one cared I vanished."
"Kiera, where are you from so Interpol can actually look your records up so we can know where you are from, know more about you.
We're not going to throw you in immigration detention and that be it.
We are your friends, and you have worked beside us for a while, never disobeying orders or laws here. That's points towards arguing your case.
While the country let you stay on condition of no one identifying you, claiming you and you working for us in exchange as we didn't want to push your trauma as it seemed someone hurt you, but if you hold back truly crucial information we really need to know, the government won't be too happy." Allie tells her.
"Canada, and I'm just stupid foster kid who aged out the system. There is no one who misses me, no who wanted, ever loved me."
"Hey now, I want you, I love you." Maxis says, holding his friend close in his arms, hugging her tightly.
"Thank you." She whispers.
"No problem."
And General Peterson pokes his head in. "You want the bad news or some good news?" Vincent speaks up.
"Start with the bad."
"Elliot and Kaylee Vaughn escaped, and uh, Kiera may have let them..."
"No shit. Why?"
"Uh, they threatened her?"
"And what is some good news?"
"Call Interpol, our unknown nationality Kiera Bailey here is a Canadian citizen who aged out of foster care.
That's why we got no hits on her, no one looking for her. Canada doesn't even know she is a missing person likely."
"Canada- You know what, I care more about chasing Elliot and Kaylee Vaughn right now.
Maxis, take Kiera home with you. Kiera, I want to see you in my office tomorrow and we'll have a proper honest conversation later.
And Vincent and Allie, you either come with me to help chase down Elliot or you both go call Interpol, and start re-opening Kiera's closed case."
"I'll come with you." Vincent says.
"I'll contact Interpol." Allie adds on.
And everyone separates. Maxis quietly carries an upset Kiera back to their apartment, stroking her hair and assuring her it will all be okay, and no one is mad at her.
