The conversation with Ivy didn’t go to plan and Emerson was concerned how Ivy would react the next time she saw him. Ivy was on high alert, in the middle of a small clearing. James and Angus sensed something to, as they stood on their toes, in a ready position. Ivy stayed calm but still. The silence was deafening, and Emerson heard nothing but the sound of his own breathing and the soft breeze flowing through the long grass. He could eventually hear heavy footsteps coming through the trees and found himself amazed that his senses were heightened enough to hear it.
