You may use one, several, or all of the effects as your prompt; if you want to add your own sound effect, get it off of SoundCloud or YouTube and embed it through the "Embed Media from External Sites" feature when writing your story, and add it at the top  (please no comprehensible speech, English, Polish, Chinese, no comprehensible speech). Please indicate somehow which original prompt you used, if any (just put the name I've given it in an author's note in the story or something). No other limits. Use your imagination.

Readers are advised to play all appropriate sound effects at once when reading a story with said sound effects.; makes it more interesting.

Betrayal!

We all love a bit of controversy in the media, a wife betraying her husband for another man... juicy information magazines thrive off. Lets not forget brother rivalry (Scar how could you?!)

Write me a piece with an unexpected betrayal - any word limit because I'm feeling nice. But use your words carefully and creatively. Will it be a tragedy? A comedy?

All is fun in love and war.... especially when deception is involved.

The aim of this contest is simple: write a piece (no more then 800words) with the protagonist as 21 or older.

Looking for creativity with any themes - however lets keep it at a pg level people.

I love writing stories with inspiration from music. Music makes me FEEL things, and feeling things encourages me to write. Much of the music that inspires me are soundtracks, so don't have lyrics. That's the beauty of it. :)

For this contest, I have provided several epic and uplifting music tracks that have made me feel emotional and/or inspired in the past. Choose the piece that inspires you most, and use it to write a short story or piece of flash fiction. No more than 1200 words please.

Rules

- I'd recommend listening to your track WHILE you're writing to get into the mood, but it's totally up to you on how you want to do it.

- When you submit your entry, put the name of the track you have used at the top so I can see how you've used your inspiration.

- There is no genre or theme requirement, but just try to make your entry original and interesting. These tracks give off an 'epic fantasy war' vibe, but that doesn't mean you have to stick by that theme. Try action, adventure, sci-fi, drama, romance, whatever you want. :)

- I am impressed by unique stories. So try not to do the same as everyone else. Think outside the box! Push the boundaries! See where your writing takes you. :)

- Make sure your spelling, punctuation and grammar is as good as it can be, since I am put off by basic errors in writing.

Time to go back to the basics!

I think it goes without saying that most people, if not all, draw enormous amounts of inspiration from music - whether it be a favorite blues melody or a catchy pop song, we've all run to our writing desk at least once for penning down the emotions it inspires in us.

Now's the time to tap in!

Pick a song - any song - and spin a yarn around it - commonly known as the quintessential song-fic - and don't let genres or themes define you. Best of luck!

As an author, my favorite part of writing is developing the characters throughout the story. Sometimes I will use the same character over and over again in my writing, but with some slight changes. But for me, it's always best to start a new character from scratch to make it more interesting.

Usually, I fill out a chart that goes something like this:

For this contest, you will be creating your own character based on this outline. Of course, you can add categories, but it would be preferable if you filled out at leastall of these. So let's say your character was in an action story, you could add categories like "Weapon of Choice" or "Superpower", or things like that. You can make your character anything you want: a zombie, a vampire, an animal. The possibilities are endless.
