Not long after that, Elena's hope slowly diminished by the second. She tried every corner of the brick walls, she tried slipping out from the metal bars (trying to use her slender body to advantages) and still, it didn't worked. She checked under the bed she was provided with. Nothing. No secret passageway like in the movies.
She despaired. The bed itself was tailored out of unknown material. Not cotton. It was rough, comfy but not furry. She suddenly shuddered out of fear. What kind of world was she in? There was element of magic. And it was used in dungeons. There was strange material made as a bed. If it was cotton, Elena would be glad because she could confirm this was the past of the modern world she used to live in; the planet earth. She wasn't so sure anymore.
When she sat alone, accompanied by the whispers of the crackling flames, blank, no kind of solution hitting her mind, a white mist suddenly pours out from one section of the wall. The white particles hissed.
Elena jumped and stood rooted to the ground, maintaining safe distance. The brick lose its colour, becoming transparent as each second passed until it became colourless, revealing another chamber. Another corridor. There was an asleep guard at the end of it, apparently snoring. Atleast, Elena assumed he was a guard, but he doesn't have sword on him. That was obvious. Instead, he clutched something which seemed to be a staff.
Elena confirmed this as a magic world.
She pushed her hand toward the transparent wall, slowly. It went through. She walked out of her cell through the opening. And she clamped her mouth from shouting when the wall suddenly became solid behind her after she passed through. If she was caught, she would insta-death, like her friend's videogame shouted 'Game over'. Lucky me, She thought bitterly, that didn't happened.
She looked at her shoes. Her father's gift. She sighed. Elena knew this moment would come. She had to remove it or else it would make a noise against the concrete floor.
She wiped a tear from her eyes as she pried open the shoes from her feet. She set it down slowly. Then, she started walking forward as silently as she could. She prayed for the God to keep her undetected. Her life on the line. Ironic and typical.
The 'guard' stirred once in a while and Elena heartbeat would haywired everytime it happened. Freeze, walk, freeze, walk.
The guard was too busy snoring (which Elena was glad) when Elena was already infront of him. The corridor ended with one way direction only. Left.
There was a staircase leading up. The exit, she thought gleefully. And a reminiscence of a dated movie named 'Merlin' in her world. It's like the same version. Only... it looked ancient. She advanced towards it when footsteps echoed from the staircase and a figure appeared. She met his eyes. His eyes met hers. 59Please respect copyright.PENANAKjRvVwtclf
