Treyton returned to the festivities, where he found the bride and groom speaking to other guests. He went to them, congratulated them, and informed them that he had to take his leave. They understood and thanked him for taking the time to attend the wedding. The Alpha went to the parking lot, got in his car, and drove by the house where he was staying. Since his business was doing well, he earned a good income but ensured he did not own too many houses since anything could go wrong. Treyton also used the houses he owned to rent to people, which was another excellent source of income. He drove off on the road to go to his house, and as he drove, his car's phone rang; it was his son. The Alpha answered and heard his son on the other end. "Hey Aidoneus. I'm surprised that you care calling early, I thought you would be arriving in another couple of hours."
"Hey pops, well surprise! I led to you regarding that. I left earlier and I just arrived to LAX, it's kind of busy since Christmas is coming up!"
"Do you want me to get you a Lyft?"
"No need, pops! I ordered a ride and I will be arriving to your house. I thought that when I arrive, we can eat out somewhere."
Treyton was silent as he remembered the coffee date he had with Maeve. "I would like to, son. The thing is, is that I have something important to do." It was silent on the other end; Treyton squeezed his steering wheel. He hoped his son didn't figure out that he found his mate. He didn't think it was the right time for his son to know until he knew about Maeve.
"Dad, are you seeing someone?"
The older man massaged the corner of his nose. "Damn it, why is he so vigilant?" Yet, Treyton couldn't help but feel proud of his son and intelligence; he believed that Aidoneus had great qualities to be an Alpha one day. "Well, yes and no."
"What does that mean?"
"I will talk to you later."
"Wait, pops! At least tell me if she's beautiful or not!"
Treyton chuckled. "Yes, she is. See you later, son." He hung up by pressing the phone button of his car. "I need to get ready before he gets home." After about eight minutes of driving, his thoughts were interrupted when another ring came from his phone contacts in his car's system. When he saw the caller ID, he let out a sigh. "Hey, Garret." It was his Beta, and if he had to suspect it, his son probably informed him about their conversation. "Let me guess, my son called you."
Garret chuckled at the other end. "Well, hello to you too, Alpha. My wife, Trinidad, and I arrived at one of your homes in Norwalk. I know I told you I would come alone, but my wife insisted she didn't want to be alone. I also didn't want to be alone."
"Hey there, Alpha Treyton! Thanks for letting me come by! I know you need someone to lighten the mood here during your stay in the city!" laughed Trinidad.
The Alpha couldn't help but chuckle at Trinidad's sense of humor. She was from another pack and was the total opposite of Garret. Garret was more introverted and took his duty seriously, while Trinidad was extroverted and enjoyed being outgoing. "No problem. I had a hunch that you wouldn't sit idly for Garret."
"Damn right! Now, tell us about this woman that you're seeing! Your boy told us that you were going out tonight!" She gasped! "Wait a minute! You wouldn't go out with just any woman! I know that our kind are cautious about who we date. Since you're an Alpha, you wouldn't date anyone unless..." Trinidad let out an excited squeal that made Treyton flinch; he imagined his Beta doing the same. "You found your mate, didn't you!?"
The Alpha sighed; he wanted it to be a surprise, but Trinidad was intelligent when excited. "Okay, fine. I went to my collegue's wedding at the Botanic Gardens. When I went to take a breather, that's where I found her."
While Trinidad squealed in happiness and excitement in the background, Garret cleared his throat. "Congratulations, Alpha. My wife and I are happy that you found your mate. However, are you sure that it's your mate? You were at the gardens where flowers are everywhere; there are different scents."
"I'm certain that I found her, Garret. The scent I smelled at her was very addicting and heavenly. That scent was the only thing I smelled; my heart wouldn't stop pounding at the sight of her."
Trinidad eventually stopped squealing, and a slight struggle was heard between her and Garret to get the phone. "Alpha, tell us more about her!? Is she your age, younger?"
Treyton didn't want to tell them her age since they had a huge age gap. He wondered why his mate was younger than him, but fate was fate. However, he refuses to let her go and was happy that she would allow him to know more about her and for her to do the same with him. "I don't know, but we agreed to have a coffee later. I'm heading home to change and to get ready. I will call you tomorrow." Before Trinidad could speak, Treyton hung up, and it became silent. Everything was going too fast, but he would eventually have to go with his pack to celebrate an early Christmas. He wanted to gain Maeve's trust and feelings and eventually tell her what he was.
For now, he would enjoy the moments he would have with Maeve. He then turned on the radio again and began to hear holiday music. "I guess I'm starting to like the holidays again."
