In an alternate 1943, the ability to bring the dead back to life, otherwise known as Necromancy was discovered twenty years prior and has now become a commercialised business. Other magic wielders also surfaced, known as the Heavenly Artisans and the Witch Doctors, capable of manipulating and materialising weapons and shields from sources known as the Golden Thread and the Black Thorn.  Fleur is the most powerful of these Necromancers, until new wielders appear, using their red thread to take her estate and lover by force.
