Chapter 1
Susan walked down the street of Rosewood with her head held down. If you were to walk next to her, you would be able to see half of her face for she was covering the other half with her hair and hoodie. At lunch, she was punched in the face by Rob.
Susan had just gotten her lunch and was about to sit down when she heard Rob harassing another student. Susan went up to Rob and gave him a piece of her mind. She tapped Rob on the shoulder and when he turned around she said, "It isn't nice to bully people. She did nothing to you."
"Mind your own business." snickered Rob going back to telling the girl to give him money. Susan again tapped his shoulder and told him if he didn't do what she said, she would get the principal. "That's it. You are getting on my nerves." said Rob before swinging his fist at Susan. She didn't have enough time to dunk and got a fist in the mouth making her drop her spaghetti on the ground.
Rob walked away with victory as Susan picked up her meal. She went over to the lunch lady and got some napkins. Then she cleaned the mess up with everyone watching her. After being humiliated, Susan went to the bathroom to see the effects of the punch to her face.
She looked at her reflection and saw her hideous face. She was almost as pale as a vampire and had raven hair. She also had a bleeding lip and bruised eye. What would her parents think of this? Susan could only guess that they would scold her before even asking her what happened. If they did ask what happened, they wouldn't care.
Now as Susan walked down the street, she had covered the side of her face with her hair. She had wiped the blood from her lip, but it would soon come back out. Susan was finally at her house.
Every house on her block looked exactly the same. Each was two stories high and was white. Every house on the block had the same number of rooms. Susan thought, because of this no one would envy the other. However, it made people jealous the other was better at taking care of things than one's self.
Susan entered her house and walked into her room. There was no sign of her parents anywhere. This was odd, for her mother was a stay at home mom and her dad was usually home by four. If he wasn't, he would always leave a message. Susan ran around the house screaming out her parents' names. There was no answer.
"I am sure they will be back." thought Susan. She went back into her room and studied for her big Social Studies test she had the next day. It passed two hours and her parents were still not home. Susan went downstairs and called her dad using the home phone. When she did this, she could hear her father's phone ringing.
Susan followed the sound of ringing into her parents' bedroom. There was the phone on the bed, but where was her dad? If his phone was here, that means he came home from work. 807Please respect copyright.PENANAuNzXjKpe5P
