Write me a poem, a story or a discussion piece on how you view marriage, what it means to you, your views and ideas.
I'm always interested in how people view big events - particularly in a post religious majority. How does someone's values and experiences mold personal views.
PS: Grammar is important to me if that helps those winners out there.
Write me a narrative/poem/creative piece about a betrayal. Whether that be a lover's scorn, lion king betrayal or a dramatic assassination - the betrayal is up to you!
Funny how it's the ones you think will protect you are the ones who pull the trigger...
I'll cap it at 1000 words - but be creative and emotive.
Inspiration: Musical Hamilton's "Burn" (it's gender-bended, so feel free to find the original but this is so, so beautiful)
Blue Moon OUT!
(I do not own or create the cover image used)
Hello beautiful budding writers! Life carried me away but I am back and kicking!
Write me a 500 words short story about old friendships, old romances, glory days. Write me the memories of a soldier or pain from younger days. Write me something from the past!
Give me emotion, humor, passion, hope, sadness, pain! Give me new life and lessons learnt.
Send me into the past, everyone has one.
I want you to play this song twice.
1st: watch it, or your curiosity will get the better of you.
2nd time: close your eyes and listen to it.
Then write me a 800word piece of your choice. Let the music inspire you into some fast paced battle scene, a magical fight, a love confession, a fight or flight response... whatever you're inspired to write. Do it.
No more than 800 words - enjoy xx
Using your senses, and most descriptive language you can muster - I want a 200 word max on your kind of romance. It's flash-ish
Whether that be a love of a person, book, animal or thing! You may only use your senses in the telling. Smell, touch, taste, hear and see!
~ Blue Moon
You clicked didn't you.
I would, I'm curious like that. In fact I'll probably browse the contests and still take a look because well - the heading told me too.
This may be the very last one my ladies and gentlemen! My heroes, competitors, my warriors and knights!
What is the prompt you ask?
"Into the woods."
Are you playing with the pixies or playing as children up trees? Are you fighting in a battle so intense it stains bark red? Are you hiding? Going on a date? Staring up at the stars? Murder?
So many things can happen in the woods! For a moment or a lifetime it is up to the authors of daring characters to play in the woods!
Any length and time setting... it is the last one after all. Make it count!
AND GUESS WHAT?!?!
Penana loves us! But you already knew that.
Yes, you read that correctly. Penana is giving the winner a postcard with this theme upon it. You're gonna have to win it because I can't - so do your best!
So many can get in on this opportunity I have given you all THREE WEEKS! Ages I know! But there it is. Don't forget to enter though - time is deceiving.
And most of all - have fun entering and reading each other's stories. Like count is always considered.
Hello my dear, dear competitors! Quite a break that!
Stab in the back, knife twist in the gut, poison in a glass of wine...
We all love a bit of controversy in the media, a wife betraying her husband for another man... juicy information magazines thrive off. Lets not forget brother rivalry (Scar how could you?!)
Write me a piece with an unexpected betrayal - any word limit because I'm feeling nice. But use your words carefully and creatively. Will it be a tragedy? A comedy?
All is fun in love and war.... especially when deception is involved.
Once upon a time there was a group of writers.... they faced off their dragons and woke the princess, they lost their shoes and begged a fairy godmother for directions to the fairy palace.
What do I want you all to do?
Write me a fairy tale of course!
Re-write an old one with a new twist, or write me a new one! What consists of a fairy tale to you?
Let's try to stick to a 1000w limit because fairy tales were once oral.
PS: I'm leading on a kids camp this week - so from the bottom of my heart I'm giving you an extra week so I can judge you fairly without falling asleep at the computer.
I'm throwing you into the enchanted wood, Neverland, and the world of the Never Ending story... where magic is more logical then mathematics and nothing is what it seems.
You guessed it. Fantasy.
Write me a story based within a fantasy world. One already created, or if you wanna get down and creative make one yourself!
No word limit because fantasy knows no limits!
May the best writer pull their readers into worlds unseen!
Good luck wordsmiths!
Write a poem about anything you want, without ever saying what it is.
Write a story about this picture. You have 12 weeks to do so! Max 1000 words.
You die. As per your your nerdy request , your tombstone is inscribed with:
“Game over. Continue?“ With a little slot for coins.
One day, someone puts in a coin and you suddenly burst out of your grave.
A/N: Hello! I saw this prompt and thought it was a very unique idea. I wanted to see what you guys came up with! This is my first contest (damn, what a noob), so I’m not sure what “bounties” are. If y’all could explain that would be peachy. Anyways can’t wait to see y’all’s stories! Love ya! :D
What if writer's block wasn't in your head? I know this prompt might seem strange, but just keep reading.
What if you were given a physical block that made you not be able to write? What if that block was going to explode in 2 minutes and you have to hand it to someone else before you're stuck with the block forever? Or what if writer's block is a disease that is infesting the writers of the world and your character has been infected and tries to overcome their illness? What if writer's block is a person that physically attacks you until you're not able to write?
The ideas are limitless and you get to decide which ones are worthy of your attention. Your only parameter is that writer's block has to be a physical thing or person or other. It just can't be completely mental.
99% of writers experience writer's block at some point in their career (It's not 100% because there's always that one person that denies that they're not perfect). It's a normal thing, I've definitely had my fair share. So, when you experience writer's block what do you visualize it as?
It is time for your characters to face their fears and overcome them! Or not.
Does your character cower away when faced with their greatest fear or do they confront it? Do they overcome their fear? How did they get this fear? Have they faced this fear before? Do others accept their fear and try to help them or are they shunned away because of their fear? Do people take advantage if their fear?
So many question that your story can answer. Your story doesn't even need to answer, leave your characters background or even current situation a mystery, if you want. Be creative and create anything you want that revolves around fear.
Your character is at a funeral. This contest does not have any requirements or much of anything really, just the idea of someone at a funeral. It could be there's, could be a friends of theirs, a complete stranger, a pets or anyones. Your story could be friends heartwarming speeches, a huge hilarious disaster, a haunting horror story or anything you can possibly think of. Be creative.
At the age of 13 children are able to summon their familiars for the first time. Your family has always been ridiculed for weak and useless familiars until the day of your 13th birthday and you summon your familiar for the first time.
One day you are cleaning up your deceased grandpas attic when you find a old battered looking book. You were very close to your grandpa and he told you everything but he never told you about this book. You take the book home and start to read but then it sucks you inside. write a story about what happens inside of this book.
Nearly everyone knows the classic story of Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare’s best. This contest is to see who can write the best modern remake of this tale. Contestants may change the story in any way they wish, but please keep some resemblance between your story and the original.
