One would never think

That a friendship that sinks

Would feel so abrupt and peaceful

Because they left me to die

At the rink.

I just noticed that once

I was in a friendship that cost me,

My happiness,

One that tied me down.

That they would begin to prepare.

I wanted more friends,

So they threatened to leave me alone.

The things I think begin to grow

Until they are almost out of control

My mind is not calm.

When a new girl came along

She was short

She made me tall

My friend made me choose.

All I could do,

Was stand frozen in time,

Tears rolled down my cheeks.

They already knew my answer

But they made me speak.
