I was at my best friend's house

Age 13

We were playing Roblox and just dance

Living the dream

Three years in a row

We had our traditions

New Years Eve

Was always our business

Sleepover until going back to school

Staying up till 5 am

Watching Bird Box

Then came the end

I moved away

So sad to say. Still, we keep our tradition strong

Every year we Facetime

For just about 13 hours, from noon to one.

Her sister lives in Chicago so her midnight is an hour late

We get to celebrate the new year

Twice each year

once with my family

And the other with hers
