Late in the night, a large trailer was delivery stock to a large, high end grocery store. The front was incredibly elaborately designed with expensive looking windows and doors. Around the back was still beautiful and well maintained with a long line of massive metal doors that lifted up for shipments. Only one was open while the trailer sat connected to the building. As the workers were carrying the crates in, one of them pulled out their phone to look at the time.
“God damn it. Why’d the truck get here so fucking late?” The worker asked.
“Driver got lost.” The other worker replied.
“Three hours lost?” The first worker asked, clearly annoyed.
“Oh shut up. We’re getting overtime pay, so stop complaining.” The second worker said.
A third man was sitting on a chair nearby smoking a cigarette.
“You gonna help?” The first worked asked.
“Shut up. I’ve been here since six in the goddamn morning.” The third man replied.
“So why are you still here now?” The second worker asked.
“They offered me overtime pay to make sure you two did your jobs. I’m not turning down extra money for doing nothing.” The third man replied before going back to smoking. He reached underneath the chair to grab a half empty beer bottle. After he smoked he took a sip.
The two rolled their eyes and carried the crates over to the stocking area as the third man kept sitting. He got up from his chair and stepped through a single small door that lead outside. He leaned against a clean metal railing on a small elevated platform. He looked down to his right side to see a small set of stairs that lead to the ground, perhaps ten feet in total.
Everything was pitch black darkness, the only light coming through the doorway and lighting up the surrounding area for a few feet. The man smoked more of his cigarette as he looked out into the darkness.
He started to see subtle movement in the shadows. He squinted his eyes as he kept smoking until he saw a human shape.
“Hey, restricted area. Who are you?” The man asked loudly.
The figure kept walking, hands hidden inside pockets while the face was looking down with a hood up covering their head.33Please respect copyright.PENANApmJF6fIjuA
“Oi!” The man shouted.
The figure was starting to get illuminated by the light.
They wore steel toed boots that were hidden by tight fitting track pants that seemed to be poking out around the knees. The hands came out to show they were both heavily taped underneath fingerless leather gloves. The torso was covered by a large but tight fitting hoodie that seemed to have a bulletproof vest sewn into the chest and back. Finally, the hood came down to show a half black and half white mask.
The left side was black with a white eye and white half of a smile in white pointing upwards. The right side was white with a black eye and black half of a frown pointing downwards.
“What the…”
The figure jumped up from the ground and stood with his feet going underneath the railing. His gloved and taped up hand grabbed him by his head and pulled him close.
“How much food you get?” The voice was incredibly deep and serious.
“Fuck this. Take whatever you want. They don’t pay me enough for this shit.” The man replied while shaking.
The figure let go of his head before grabbing the railing and jumping over it with ease.
The figure was a massive and obviously muscular figure as he stared down.
“Smoking’s bad for you.” The figure said.
The man swallowed hard before throwing the cigarette away.
The figure walked inside and looked around as the other two workers were walking back.
“Hey, who the fuck are you?” One shouted.
They both ran over as the third man watched from the doorway.
“I won’t hurt you if you…” The figure started, but one of the workers suddenly pulled out a switchblade.
“You think they’ll give me a raise?” He whispered to the other worker.
“Hopefully they give me one.” The other replied as they ran to the wall and grabbed the fire extinguisher.
“I’m warning you. Let me grab some food and I’ll leave you alone.” The figure said.
The worker with the switchblade went to slash the figure, but the figure grabbed his arm and punched him hard in the chest, sending him flying back before hitting the ground hard. He groaned in pain and started to get back up.
The figure turned his attention as the fire extinguisher swung at him. He ducked before picking up the large worker holding it before throwing him to the side. The worker got on his hands and knees when the figure stomped hard on his back.33Please respect copyright.PENANAxhJrRXD8po
“I don’t want to hurt you. Please stay down.”
The figure turned just as the other worked stabbed him in the back with the switchblade, just missing the spine by a single inch.
“God…damn it.” The figure said through gritted teeth.
He turned around and punched the man hard enough in the head to knock him out, making his body drop like a bag full of rocks.
The other worker crawled to the fire extinguisher as the figure turned his attention to him.
The worker fired a massive cloud of extinguishing foam and didn’t let go until the extinguisher was empty. He crawled back and was surrounded by a massive, thick cloud of foam and smoke. He couldn’t see anything as he slowly got to his feet.
The cloud began to move around and dissipate when the figure suddenly appeared from behind one of the clouds. The worker jumped back and screamed when he swung the extinguisher again, but the figure ducked and punched the worker in the head once, dropping him to the ground. The cloud was still spreading out as the third worker was just standing by the doorway watching.
“Are we going to have a problem?” The figure asked as the clouds moved to show his body.
The switchblade was still stuck in his back as he walked towards the truck.
“I ain’t doing shit.” The worker said, shrugging.
“You are a good man. A spineless coward, but good.” The figure said as he walked into the truck.
“You’re quite rude.” The worker replied.
The figure went into the truck and grabbed four of the large crates, able to carry them with ease.
The worker’s eyes were wide as the figure simply walked past him. It was like the weight was no issue, only the size blocking his view.
“Have a good night.” The figure said as he walked through the door, stopping and using his foot to pull the door shut.
The worker looked over at his coworkers, laying on the ground knocked out cold.
“Welp…” The worker said before walking over to the chair. He picked up the beer bottle he was drinking from and walked over a few spaces. He made sure he was a good distance away from the other workers before grabbing the beer bottle and smashing it against his head. The bottle didn’t break and he clutched his head.
“God damn it…movies make this look so easy.” The worker muttered to himself.
He smashed it against his head again and groaned.
He took a deep breath before doing it again, the bottle shattering and knocking him out as he collapsed into a heap on the ground.

Taylor was laying down with his legs inside of a large MRI machine. Taylor put his hands behind his head and looked quite bored as the machine scanned his legs.
“Anything?” Taylor asked.
He didn’t get a response as the machine continued to scan his legs. He suddenly heard the machine turn off and the bed he was laying on moved him back out. He sat up as two doctors walked in, one of which had talked with him earlier in the day.
“Well?” Taylor asked.
The two doctors looked unsure of what to say next.
“Taylor…we don’t…we don’t have any explanation for what happened.” One said.33Please respect copyright.PENANAZsxNzcn3GJ
“This shouldn’t have been possible, and we are out of ideas on what to do to figure out what happened.” The other doctor finished as they both looked at Taylor, who was running through a hundred different emotions one by one.
“So…my legs were empty and now they’re completely fine?” Taylor asked as he stood up, his legs able to hold his body weight with ease.
“Well…your muscle and bone density are all higher than any we’ve ever seen before. Whatever happened to your legs, they didn’t heal…they were upgraded.”
“Well how does that work?” Taylor asked.
“I’m not entirely sure…again, we don’t have a scientific explanation for this.” The doctors replied.
Taylor sighed and rubbed his legs. He looked down at the floor for a bit.
“Am I good to go home?” Taylor asked.
The doctor looked at him, wanting to say something, but unsure of what to say.
“I…well…we don’t have any more ideas…but sure.” The doctor said.
Taylor stood up and walked with ease.
“Thank you. I’ll make sure to stop by for more tests if you need me to.” Taylor said with a big smile as he left the room.
