The next day, Taylor was still laying in the hospital bed with his legs highly elevated and nobody else in the room.
He was sleeping tightly, but he started to shake around.
“No…no…” Taylor was softly whispering to himself.
The machine monitoring all of his vitals began to increase the readings more and more. His heart rate, his blood pressure, and respiratory signs were all elevated highly above normal.
His body continued to shake more and more aggressively as time went on. His legs suddenly snapped from the straps holding them up. The casts covering them both shattered into pieces as Taylor fell off the bed.
He landed on his feet, standing as if he was completely fine.
The door opened as a nurse walked in with a small tray.
“Are you awake in…”
She flicked the lights on to see Taylor standing.
Taylor looked down at his healthy legs, which looked like they had even more muscle covering every inch.
“Oh…it appears that you are.” She replied.
She put the tray down on a table near the door before walking over. Taylor stepped away from her while his breathing was only growing faster and shorter.
“How…how am…” Taylor could feel his heart beating violently hard inside of his chest.
His brain was on fire as he struggled to stand up straight. He was constantly on the verge of falling over as he quickly grabbed his bed. He needed it to stand until his heart began to beat so quickly that he suddenly collapsed, everything on fire before it was extinguished within seconds.

Taylor woke up again on the hospital bed, this time slowly as the lights above were blinding him. He reached up to cover his eyes when he suddenly felt an aggressive hug around him.
“What the fuck?” Taylor rubbed his eyes more before pulling his arms away to grab whoever was hugging him.
His eyes adjusted to see Stephen had jumped up onto the hospital bed and wrapped around him as soon as he had woken up.
Taylor then moved his attention down to his legs, even healthier than before they were broken. His eyes slowly went over to his monitoring machine, his vitals seemingly normal. Next to the machine was Trevon, reaching down to try and pull Stephen off.
“You gonna share?” Trevon asked.
“No.” Stephen replied.
Trevon pulled harder until Stephen fell off and onto the floor.
“Ouch!” Stephen said loudly.
Trevon rolled his eyes and grabbed Taylor’s hand.
“How are you feeling?” Trevon asked.
“I feel like death.” Taylor replied.
Taylor looked down at his chest, wearing nothing but a hospital gown.
“What happened?” Taylor asked.
“Well…I have no idea how to explain this. Basically your legs are completely healed, but after that you suffered a heart attack and had to be put back under.” Trevon said.
“I had a heart attack?” Taylor asked.
“Yeah, but you’re fine now.” Trevon said, gripping Taylor’s hand tighter.
“I hope so. I really don’t want to go through that again.” Taylor said, going back to rubbing his face with his free hand.
“What do I do now?” Taylor asked.
“Well I imagine they’re going to want to figure out what the Hell happened.” Trevon said.
Stephen ran around the hospital bed and grabbed Taylor’s other hand to hold. Trevon opened his mouth to speak when a doctor walked into the room.
“You must be Taylor correct?” The doctor asked.
“Yes, I’m Taylor.” He replied.
“Is he going to be okay doctor?” Stephen asked, tears already forming in his eyes.
“Dude, calm down.” Trevon said with a tired but straightforward tone.
“I can’t help it. I’m an emotional person.” Stephen replied while wiping his eyes.
“Well help it a little bit.” Trevon rolled his eyes as Taylor softly laughed.
“Okay, well ignoring all of that, we need to run tests on Taylor to figure out how his legs healed that quickly. When we ran tests on his heart, we couldn’t find anything abnormal.” The doctor said.
“Well that’s good I guess.” Taylor said.
“Your legs…it’s a miracle.” The doctor said.
“I’ve been telling him the same thing for a long time.” Trevon joked.
Taylor and Trevon both laughed, with Stephen hesitating before fake laughing to join in.
“Alright. Now, is there a parent or guardian I should contact?” The doctor asked.
“His Mom’s already been informed. I’ve been taking care of her while he’s been out.” Trevon replied.
Taylor softly smiled and softly squeezed Trevon’s hand.
“This is a very weird group and situation. Regardless of all of that, we need to run some tests on your legs. We don’t really know what kind of tests yet, but we’ll have to keep you here for some time.”
“What?” Taylor asked surprised.
“He has school.” Stephen said.
“Fuck school, I have track. State championships are…”
Taylor suddenly stopped and leaned closer to Trevon.
“When is state?” Taylor whispered.
Trevon leaned in close.
“In two weeks.” Trevon whispered back.
“State is in two…wait two weeks!?” Taylor started but then suddenly shouted from shock.
“Yeah man. You’ve been out for two days.” Trevon said.
“That still doesn’t add up.” Taylor began to count using his fingers.
“You’ve never been good at math.” Trevon joked back.
Taylor and Trevon both laughed as Stephen fake laughed as well, but this time his timing and tone were slightly better.
“Well, there isn’t really a rush, so just let us know when you’re ready for the tests. And don’t rush it, we still gotta figure out whatever we’re going to do.” The doctor said before he left the room, shutting the door softly.
Taylor, Trevon, and Stephen all looked at each other with varying looks.
Taylor gave Stephen a soft smile and Trevon a very warm and loving smile.
Trevon gave Taylor the same loving smile, but when he looked at Stephen he tried his best to fake the smile, but wasn’t doing a great job.37Please respect copyright.PENANAHlGOX7RPj8
Stephen smiled wide at Trevon which slowly faded as he noticed Trevon’s look of annoyance. Stephen turned to look at Taylor and gave a nervous smile with a twinkle in each of his eyes.
“Alright, so what do we do until I get some random experiments done to me?” Taylor asked.
“Well, all I’m gonna say is don’t get killed.” Trevon joked.
“Wait…he could die?” Stephen asked as he got emotional.
“Don’t worry Stephen, I’ll be fine.” Taylor replied as he now fully sat up, crossing his legs to make more room on the bed for them to sit.
Stephen immediately jumped up and crossed his legs as close to identical to Taylor as he could.
Trevon rolled his eyes and slowly sat next to Taylor, leaning back in the bed.
“Oh shit this bed is hard.” Trevon said as he rolled around.
“I don’t exactly get to choose the bed.” Taylor joked back.
“I get that, but if people are gonna be laying here with injuries or diseases, the beds should be nice.” Trevon said.
“If they’re injured or sick, they don’t need anything like that.” Taylor replied when he got off the bed, standing and looking down at his legs.
“You don’t know what caused them to heal so fast?” Stephen asked.
“Nope. Just woke up early one morning, fell out of the bed, and stood up like I was fine.” Taylor replied.
“Your legs look damn good.” Trevon said softly.
Taylor stretched each leg before jumping softly, but he was thrown into the air where his head came close to the ceiling.
Taylor was caught off guard and landed on his feet before slipping and falling backwards.
“Holy shit, since when could you jump that high?” Trevon asked.
“I don’t know…I barely pushed.” Taylor replied as he quickly got up to his feet.
He looked down at his legs and squatted down like he was going to jump again.
He could feel pounds and pounds of force pressing down into his feet, but they were more than able to withstand all of it as the ground suddenly cracked.
“Woah what the fuck?” Trevon jumped up shocked.
Taylor stepped away and stood normally as he looked at the miniature crater he put in the floor.
“Floor must be whack.” Taylor quickly shrugged it off.
“Yeah…that’s the problem.” Trevon said in a joking but shocked tone.
Stephen stared at the floor intensely, almost like observing from a distance.
“Well…we should probably get going. Let you get experimented on.” Stephen said, his voice only slightly wavering from nerves.
“You can go, I’m going to stay for a bit.” Trevon replied.
Stephen opened his mouth to speak, but stopped until he was off the bed.
“Okay. Take care Taylor.”
Stephen walked over as Taylor put his fist up. Stephen took it and shook it before leaving, mumbling to himself.
“He’s fucking weird man.” Trevon said once Stephen left the room.
“He’s something alright.” Taylor replied with a sigh.
Trevon walked over and the two hugged, their arms wrapped around each other tightly but not squeezing. They each rested their heads on the other person's shoulder while their fingers were softly grazing back and forth.
“You going to be okay?” Taylor asked.
“Me? I was going to ask you the same thing.” Trevon replied.
“I’ll be fine. I’m tough.” Taylor said.
“Yeah, sometimes you think you’re tougher than you are.” Trevon said, softly reaching up to rub the back of Taylor’s head.
“And that’s a bad thing?” Taylor asked.37Please respect copyright.PENANAMDxnhjsbJj
“As long as you don’t go running into a burning building and get killed.” Trevon replied.
“I can promise I won’t get killed.” Taylor replied.
“I don’t want you running into the building. You can’t exactly control what happens to you.” Trevon said, his arms starting to squeeze Taylor softly. Taylor smiled at the warmth.
“No promises.” Taylor said with a wide smile.
Trevon sighed before softly laughing.
“Your Mom raised you too nicely.” Trevon said.
Both Taylor and Trevon subtly laughed as they kept hugging.

In a bathroom on the same floor, Stephen was sitting on one of the toilets staring at his hands. They were both shaking while he was starting to sweat profusely.
He closed his eyes like he was concentrating. As he did, the veins in his arms began to glow orange, illuminating through his skin. He opened his eyes to see them and lose focus, the glow fading until his skin was back to normal. He took some of the toilet paper and wiped off his face before leaving the stall and heading to the mirror, staring at his reflection.
“It…no…he can’t be…” Stephen was mumbling to himself.
Stephen looked around to make sure nobody else was in the bathroom. He took the collar of his shirt and put it in his mouth, biting down as he placed his hand on the counter, his arm stretched out into a ninety degree angle. He double checked nobody was in the bathroom before he suddenly and quickly hyperextended his arm, causing his bones to stab through his skin.
Stephen bit down as hard as he could onto his shirt and used his free hand to cover his mouth and muffle his screams as best as possible. He stared at the bone, blood, and muscle all poking out.
But very quickly, everything began to snap quickly and violently back in place. His arm was back to normal and moved around like nothing happened.
He flexed and stretched his arm a few times.
It still hurt and the pain was still overloading his brain, but he could use his arm.
“Taylor…no…” Stephen said as tears rolled down his face.
