Riddle me this, riddle me that.

Riddle me that, riddle me this.

The faint grinding of a hundred gears,

Drawing up a million fears.

A person who cares and shares all,

A person who'd never let you fall.

Someone to laugh and smile with.

Now doesn't that sound like a myth?

The platonic love of each other,

Yet the lies, so many is what you smother.

The gears in my mind, drone on.

Forever a pair was just a con.

You collect them like toys,

But all I hear is endless noise.

Friends, a dime a dozen,

But close? Careful, I wasn't.

A life of solitude has the most safety,

That isn't me being hasty.

I'd rather die than befriend.

I'd rather die than have my life to spend.

I'd rather die than have the lie of "a friend".
