Ashlyn and Caeden had met on the first day of the MUN conference. They were both assigned to the same committee, representing different countries. They had sat next to each other and started chatting. They found out that they had a lot in common, such as their love for music, books, and movies. They also discovered that they were both nervous about speaking in front of a large audience.
They decided to help each other out and form an alliance. They shared their research and opinions, and they practiced their speeches together. They also joked around and teased each other, making the conference more fun and relaxed.
They felt a connection that was more than friendship. They felt attracted to each other, and they wanted to get to know each other better. They exchanged phone numbers and social media accounts, and they texted and called each other every day. They also made plans to hang out after the conference.
They liked each other’s personalities and appearances. Ashlyn thought Caeden was handsome and charming, with his brown hair, blue eyes, and dimpled smile. Caeden thought Ashlyn was beautiful and adorable, with her brown hair, blue eyes, and freckled nose.
They were happy when they were together, and they missed each other when they were apart. They wondered if the other person felt the same way, and they hoped to find out soon.
A few weeks later, at MUN Club…
Ashlyn felt a surge of relief as she finished her GSL speech. She had managed to say something coherent and convincing about Canada’s position on the situation in Somalia, thanks to Caeden’s help. He had taught her some basics about the topic and the countries involved, and he had given her some notes and sources to refer to. He had also encouraged her and boosted her confidence.
She looked at Caeden, who was sitting next to her, representing the USA. He smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up. He whispered to her, “You did great, Ashlyn. I’m proud of you.”
Ashlyn smiled back and whispered, “Thank you, Caeden. You’re very kind.”
Caeden nodded and whispered, “You’re welcome, Ashlyn. You really catch on well, too.”
Ashlyn felt a surge of warmth and gratitude. She liked Caeden, and she was glad that she met him. He was nice and helpful, and he made her feel comfortable and happy. “I’ma raise a motion for an unmod now. What do you think?” she said.
“Sure, go for it.”
Ashlyn raised her hand and asked for the floor. She proposed a motion for an unmoderated caucus, where the delegates could discuss the issue informally and exchange ideas. The motion passed, and the chair announced a 10-minute break.
Ashlyn got up from her seat and walked towards Caeden. She wanted to talk to him more, and maybe get to know him better. She wondered if he felt the same way, and if he would ask her out.
Caeden saw Ashlyn approaching him, and he felt a surge of excitement and nervousness. He liked Ashlyn, and he was impressed by her speech. He wanted to compliment her more, and maybe ask her out.
They met in the middle of the room, and smiled at each other. They started a conversation about the agenda, and how they could work together to find a solution. They also made some jokes about their class, and how some of their classmates were clueless or funny.
They decided to sit next to each other, and continued their chat. They shared their opinions on the Somali Civil War, and found out they, and their countries, had a lot in common. They also laughed at some of the ridiculous speeches that their club-mates gave in previous sessions, and how the teacher reacted. They enjoyed each other’s company, and they felt a spark.
They exchanged their phone numbers, and agreed to meet again after the class. They walked out of the room together, holding hands. They felt happy, and they wondered if this was the start of something special.
